rosemary & garlic marinated octopus, mixed greens, cherry tomato, Okinawan sweet potato, pesto, aioli
16oz prime grilled veal chop with spaghetti aglio e olio
house bread, garlic & herb butter, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pomodoro sauce
Mediocre service accompanied by average food. Would not recommend highly.
I made a reservation for dinner on Sept. 23rd. When I walked up to the restaurant it was barren. It was a misunderstanding on my part due to the new UN-lockdown process. I was one day too early. Anyhow, I ordered the food to go and was not disappointed.
The manager Manny (of Wolfgang’s) and another manager was there to assist in my order and took GREAT care of it knowing we were returning patrons.
I ordered the following...
Grilled octopus salad which was and is always delicious. They reason I always love eating here.
The Beverly Hills Cobb salad was ever light and refreshing.
Double order of Seafood Pescatore was very tasty
Shrimp Gambeiri was also very delicious and flavorful.
Chop steak. Very tender
While waiting for my order I thought about going to the nearby convenience store for wine and inquired about their wines Manny asked what type of wine I was interested in and was very gracious in assisting with that too.
Overall everything we ordered was delicious and satisfying. We will definitely be back real soon to Ilupino.
Thank YOU Manny for our wonderful meal and wine!
Because of covid, there were maybe a total of 10 people in the restaurant and bar area, yet we had to wait over 15 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us and make our drinks even though our server put in our order. It just sat there in the computer print out. Been here numerous times, but this time will be my last. Food was not very good - fries were soggy.
Enjoyed our dining experience. The grilled octopus is always amazing! Our server Mauro was very attentive and had really good suggestions for us all. His wine suggestion was nice. Our guest was very impressed with the food, drinks and service. This night we ordered...Grilled octopus salad, Wolfgang Oysters on the half shells, Beverly Hills cob salad, Seafood Pescatore, Shrimp Gambieri and Bolognese. No regrets. We will definitely be back.
They haven’t updated their schedule ?
I had a reservation for breakfast at 9:15 am then the restaurant was still closed.
this is so unprofessional
Oysters on the half shell were the best I have ever had. What a surprise. We ordered the Opakapaka and it was perfectly cooked and beautifully done. We got sautéed spinach which was great and a wonderful Caesar salad with anchovies. The service was wonderful and friendly. The wine they recommended was incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is pricey but if you go there for pizza and a beer you’ll be fine if you’re on a budget. Check out the menu and enjoy the ambience. Very nice staff. Food was delicious- Tiramasu is a MUST.
Very good as aleays
Our waiter was Joseph and he was amazing, very attentive but not overbearing. The food was also amazing. I asked for the gluten free pasta, expecting a boxed version, however Joseph said he asked the chef and the chef said it wasn’t as good, so he whipped up some fresh gluten free linguine for me! That was a HUGE surprise. I was ecstatic to get freshly made pasta (being gluten free that doesn’t happen often).
The martinis were expertly made, and the wine suggestions were on point. This place was a great way to spend our anniversary dinner, as it was everything we wanted and expected and more. I do not know why this place is only averaging 3.5 stars, but we both give them a 5/5.
I made a reservation for a table and as continually asked to sit at the bar. I declined more than once and once seated, the service was very inadequate.
Thank you for opening on the 4th of July. We enjoyed the great food, the wonderful staff; the calamari appetizer was crisp and tender on the inside, and the awesome Tiramisu that we had for dessert made dinner very enjoyable!
It was a lovely experience. It reminded me of Italy. The pace was pleasantly slow. The food delicious, all the different waters you could order at first. I loved the mushroom pizza we ordered, so yummy. I would definitely go there again.
During the time of COVID, you can order from the Il Lupino menu or the Wolfgang Steakhouse menu.
Since our last walk through of Waikiki we’ve been meaning to eat here. Surprised my husband for Father’s Day and did curbside pick up instead of dining in. The food was absolutely amazing and we ordered the 2 set meals!! The lasagna and meatball with handmade pasta was unlike anything else we’ve ever had. The tiramisu...out of this world!!! Not too sweet just right!! We are definitely eating here again!! Curbside was a breeze...the service was absolutely amazing and I’d recommend this venue for just about any occasion.
It was Father's day dinner. We got outside seating which we requested and setup was nice. Server did not bring our drink at the same time. My aunt ordered decef coffee but he brought regular coffee so she could not sleep all night and worst part was he threw our leftover steak and pasta. They were kind enough to make another plates but we had to wait 15 minutes. Unfortunately our first visit was not satisfied.
We had a wonderful experience at Il Lupino. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We look forward to going back again soon!
Awesome first meal after they reopened and we could dine in. We had high expectations which they exceeded!!
The house chianti is darn good! This is my go to place for gnocchi gorgonzola....but haven't had it in a while. Previously, thought it was the lightest most delicious ever; haven't had better in New York nor Boston. Tonight...gooey, doughy, little balls of lead. I didn't complain; the gorgonzola sauce made it worth it, but what happened? They used to be beautiful airy pillows of potato pasta! Grateful they were open on the eve of restaurants being closed. Nice open outdoor seating to maintain safe distance. Very charming waiter. See you when you open again.
The food was spectacular and very authentic. I am a very big fan of authentic Italian food. The restaurant has fair prices and the food is worth what you pay for.
Excellent service, excellent food. I will be back for sure!
Always love this restaurant- shame we were almost the only ones there as Waikiki was empty due to fear
The food is delicious and the service excellent. Portion sizes more Australian than the ginormous US which meant you could finish a serving!
the service was too slow.
I love this place. But for some reason, it took over an 1 hr and half to get our food, and things kept getting forgotten., the potatoes were not cooked, not sure what was going on, I will give one other chance, but if it's the same next time, it's on to the next restaurant
Sorry Il Lupino
Tourist area expensive but very comfortable place with good service and good food
We visited Il Lupino during their Valentine's day/weekend dinner menu. Went a little early to experience HH. Not knowing HH was not being offered while special menus are available. No big deal, just had one drink at the bar. So we decided to get seated for our dinner, approx. 5:00 pm. We decided to be seated indoor. while many guests preferred outdoor.
Not like you would expect in a fine dining restaurant. Dressed the part but mannerism and professionalism was not to par. Many servers standing around talking stories out in the open.
I can see where they're going. flavors were there but execution was not.
GARLIC BREAD: "Freshly Baked" more like crostini.
CAESAR SALAD: No flavor, more watery. Crouton was a mixture of stale and hard.
MEATBALL appetizer: Good flavor and very moist. Meatball and pomodoro sauce was between room and warm temp. Size, imagine a baseball.
LOBSTER RAVIOLI: Flavor was really good. but the sauce was more of a soup in my bowl. Ravioli and lobster was drowning in it.
LASAGNA: Flavor was also there. Like the meatball, lasagna and pomodoro sauce was between room and warm temp. Also when we ordered the lasagna, (I am not familiar with preparation and cooking of lasagna) but kitchen claimed it was not prepared. molding was not there and when it goes in to bake, it would just fall apart. We only waiting less that 30 min for the dish to come out.
My caprese salad was terrible, but the biggest negative was our service. Our waiter didn’t seem to have a clue as to what was going on. Our entrees came at all different times. I was practically done eating by the time my brothers meal came. And the meatballs were under cooked.
We had a reservation for 7:30pm so went to the restaurant and were waiting in line for a couple of minutes, there were quite a few workers behind the desk and no one even bothered to say hello or even acknowledge us which I found quite rude. Finally someone approached us and and told us there were no seats and to come back in 15-20 minutes which we did. We then got asked if we would prefer to be seated outside or inside to which we said outside, our server told us to wait for 2 minutes while he sorted something out. He then came back and proceeded to take us to an inside table without even informing us as to why we couldn’t be seated outside.
The waiter we had was quite cold and didn’t really seem to care. We were waiting for him to come and take our drink order for quite some time. Myself and my fiancé both ordered what the waiter had said was linguine with prawns. The food came out very, very quickly to a dish of spaghetti and not linguine which was flavourless, soggy and seemed to taste like it was warmed up in the microwave. Our waiter came and collected our plates once we were done and did not even ask if we wanted to see the dessert menu or if we had any room for dessert etc. which most waiters always ask you.
I’m never one to leave a negative review and especially as we were so excited to eat at the restaurant because the food always sounded so nice and the location was beautiful but it was such an awful place to dine at and not to mention how very overpriced it is for the food that they serve. I wish we looked more into the reviews before dining there because it was really not worth it.
Excellent dining experience! The truffle pasta and lobster ravioli were two of the best pasta dishes we have ever had. The daily fish special was opakapaka that was cooked to perfection. Medium rare/rare with nicely charred skin. The quality of the food rivaled our favorite Italian restaurants in New York!
Food was good. Service was
Valentines Day in Hawaii. Our first experience at this restaurant. It was lovely.
White wine was not cool, even though the restaurant name includes “wine bar”.
We paid $48 x 2 for eye fillet steak and it was very poorly cooked .... very disappointing that both steaks were incorrectly cooked and the arrogant waiter couldn’t care
Excellent experience. Food and service impeccable.
We looked at their menu on their website, and decided to go to il Lupino based on the offerings. We were disappointed that the items we were in the mood for were not available. They had few, but nonetheless overpriced items, and they did not seem accommodating or concerned with our disappointment. While the setting was nice, the food and service end fell short. We decided to ‘cut our losses’ and left a before eating.
I went to the restaurant for my husband’s birthday. I left message, but no one said happy birthday. We expected something (coffee, cake or any small thing) for his birthday, but nothing was served.
I always make a reservation via open table for our celebration, our birthdays, then all restaurants served something that made us happy....
We felt it was a little expensive but we enjoyed the food.
Very average Italian food. Limited menu. Excellent waiter and service!!
We were in Honolulu for 10 days and visited the restaurant 3 times. Great experience!
