I eat here often. Excellent food and takes care of my food sensitivities with gluten and soy! Great restaurant! Highly recommended!
Exceptional restaurant. The food is always amazing.
It was our first time at Il Gallio and we went to celebrate my husband's bday. It is a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant, very welcoming and warm. They gave us the perfect table that was tucked away in a semi-private little space with a view of the whole dining room and it was perfect and felt special! Our server, Bryan, was awesome, had us laughing, and was very informative about the menu and wine list. All of his suggestions were perfect! The food was incredible and the desserts were to die for. We will be back! Thank you for the perfect evening!
A nice evening. Good. Great service. Great wine recommendation
great start but the service slowed down to a crawl after drinks and appetizer. main courses and dessert were excellent tasting
A lovely authentic Italian restaurant, off the beaten path, with a great atmosphere, home made (on the premise) delicious pasta and a selection of dishes, staple and specials that everyone's taste will be satisfied and if you have room for desert, you won't leave disappointed! Our waiter, Carl, was polite, prompt, respectful and very helpful - and just a delight - from wine choices to special selections!
Fabulous service and food for 80th Birthday
The service was great. From the friendly bar tenders to the server who continued to return to pour our wine. The server was down to earth, and familiar with the menu. Food was very good. Very enjoyable evening
This was our first visit, but it won't be our last! The food was wonderful and well priced for what was offered.
Started out well with very attentive service through salad course. Then we waited and waited and waited ... it will be here soon ... and waited. Food arrived and when asked what took so long some attempt to blame it on being too busy ( restaurant was 3/4 full). Will give another shot, but call this trip a fizzle.
The Easter Brunch menu left a lot to be desired. Would rather a more diverse menu with more generous portions. Willing to pay more for a more “special “ menu.
Good food and nice service
Once again a nice place to meet friends for a nice somewhat different dinner experience.
This was our first time, but we will certainly come back again and again. First of all, the restaurant is lovely. Accommodates large parties and dinner-for-two. Servers are great. Portions are huge! Share appetizers or share entrees. Veal dishes were perfect. Pastas were made just right. Lots of options on the wine list. It’s not easy to save room for dessert, but try. This will certainly become one of our favorite choices!
This is my favorite restaurant. Normally it is great. Sunday was a busy night and service was slower than normal. I can forgive that. However, of all the times I have ordered Ceaser Salad for what ever reasons it was quiet ordinary and tasteless. I'll be back
Good food and great service. Really enjoyed this place and will come back for sure.
The bar and wait staff are awesome! Very friendly and accommodating. brought a special bottle of wine for dinner and they were most gracious.
We really wanted to love il Giallo but were disappointed. There were several large parties and we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. We were seated at 8:35 and received our entrees at 9:45 after ordering quickly. Some entrees were good, some (such as mine) were tasteless. I ordered the trout. My husband ordered the lasagne, which he said was adequate but not stellar. The chicken and spaghetti were slightly more flavorful. The arugula salad was good, if not inventive. Although our waiter apologized for the wait, no effort was made to compensate for the wait (e.g. a dessert to go or one glass of wine). It was so late we had to leave before we even considered dessert. I will not be rushing back here, even considering the positive reviews.
We've been several times before, and we'll be back. Punctual, delicious food, a VERY attentive waitstaff and enough room between tables that you don't feel like your conversation is being overheard by multiple other parties. Also, ample parking that's free!
Love this restaurant. Great consistency of food , service , and atmosphere. Unfortunately, we had a relatively inexperienced server this time around. Good kid and good person, but just not yet up the standards of il Giallo. That being said, we still had a great dining experience.
Always an unbelievably amazing meal from Chef Jamie!!
WE go many times for special occ and for regular. All are nice.Wii continue to go.All is done well.
We went to this restaurant when it first opened and the quality of the food matched the hype during our first experience and a follow up meal. Have not been back in about 6 months and had a business meal last week. I was not as jazzed about the food as our first few times dining here. The pasta may be made in house but I found it chewy as did one of my guests. The dishes also felt a bit overwhelmed by butter. Going on a Thursday night it was not jammed packed. Our waitress was professional but had other tables (one with many guests) and the service became very, very slow. I practically threw my credit card at her to get our bill and get out of there. I think this is a management or training issue that could be resolved. The first few times I dined here I told many of my friends about the new find. The last experience I found the food to be good but nothing to rave about. I don't know if something has changed since last fall. Worth a first time visit, but I am not itching to go back like I was the first few times I dined here.
It’s one of the only NYC quality Italian restaurants in ATL. The food is amazing. Great wine selection.
Wonderful waitress mediocre food...
The food here is exactly what you would hope: It is both gloriously delicious and very well presented! If you enjoy Italian food, freshly made pasta, delicious sauces, perfect meats and seafoods, and savory sides, do pay them a visit.
After reading the recent article in the AJC, I so wanted to have this turn into my favorite Italian restaurant. The open seating concept doesn't do anything for having a conversation. The food was good, but not even close to out of the ordinary. The waitress kept advising all of the meat specials even though we advised it was a Friday in Lent. Probably the best item was the Caesar Salad. The calamari had a very bland coating. Overall, I can't say that I would go back because there are so many other better restaurants in town, but I do feel duped when I think of the glowing reviews that I read.
Fantastic food and great service we always enjoy eating there
Haven’t gone often but is really great! Will definitely go again and have recommended to lots of people...
Great wait staff and food always excellent. Tiramisu is excellent.
We had a great time celebrating one of our birthday's.
This is a classic, professional restaurant. The way dining should be. Not some gimmicky fad joint. The food is excellent. Service is top notch. They do all the little things right. We were treated like VIPs from the time we walked in until we left. We will definitely go again.
Lovely restaurant, delicious food, great service despite being packed on a Wednesday night.
"The Octopus tastes like steak", my date's response when she first tasted. We also enjoyed the lasagna -- all pasta is freshly made in house. Great experience, overall.
Very authentic Italian food. Great food great service. Definitely go back & recommend.
Another fantastic evening at Il Giallo. Lamb special was great. Pork ribs were incredible. Veal parm is always a favorite. Great service both at the table and at the bar.
Everything was absolutely wonderful. This was our third visit and we could not have been more pleased.
The appetizer and dessert arrived promptly and were delicious. My pasta (pappardelle) had obviously been sitting for sometime, everything was congealed and was lukewarm. My husband ‘s pasta was hot and obviously freshly prepared. Clearly my dish was prepared before his, but they were served together.
The food is very good but salty. I've been there three times. Please tell the chef to use less salt. The duck ravioli is the best.
Good meal. Short on specials with no fish. They did have a 6oz lobster but not my choice. Overall, very good
