il Giallo Osteria & Bar
While il Giallo means both “Yellow” and “Mystery” in Italian, yellow, the color of the yolk, the sun and the grains, it represents il Giallo’s wholesomeness; the ingredients used will be responsibly sourced, fresh and flavorful. Mystery represents the new, different and exciting flavors and aromas found throughout the constantly evolving il Giallo menu.
We strive to accurately represent the foods and flavors found in the towns and villages along Italy’s Coastal regions, the freshest imaginable hand-made pastas found in the mountains and plains and lest we for forget, the bounty of cured meats, cheeses and olive oils from north to south.
We want to become an extension of your home by providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere where you will want to spend time with friends and family.

Always a great meal with lovely service.
My husband is not crazy about dining out due to trouble hearing in noisy restaurants. After learning about the new outdoor seating, (bistro tables with white tablecloths) we decided to try it. We had an amazing meal with calamari, duck ravioli, and halibut. The manager stopped by our table several times and our server was excellent. A perfect night out!
Thank you for being open andCOVID CONPLIANT.
The food is always STELLAR and the waiter Paul is perfect!
Dinner, service and was fantastic Friday night. We will return to Il Giallo very soon
What a great evening. Felt comfortable. Food was excellent. Service terrific.
The entire teams does such a great job to make you feel comfortable during this reopening phase. The food has alway been good, but it has gotten even better. Swordfish was just like being in Italy.
I had dinner with a friend tonight. I think Il Giallo is better than BEFORE the lockdown! From start to finish our meal and service was outstanding!!!! I hope others will get out there and support these neighborhood gems we are so lucky to have.
Birthday: Great dinner prepared by chef Jamie. Veal picata which was outstanding and beautifully served. Very impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
Dinner was fantastic! Thanks for opening up your dining room safely during our return to normal!
They've done a great job with reopening in these strange times. Food was as great as always.
Back and better than ever! Felt safe and appreciated! And, the meal was delicious as always.
Any event great here so happy to be back all good with social distancing too !!
Awesome service and food
Our waiter was fantastic. The food was delicious. Appreciated the fact there was a bit more space between the tables.
What to do. If I go out am I part of a problem? Or part of a solution? Do I want to support businesses that have made conscious efforts to address current events and create a safe environment? Like many things, I think the answer is, It depends. On the venue. On the type of business. On the current recommendations of the scientists. Airports? Not unless absolutely necessary. Cruise ships? Do you have to ask? Crowded sporting events. Sorry, no. Crowded bars with standing room only? No. But what about fine dining restaurants that have more social distancing than my office or local grocery store? I’m thinking yes.
I had heard that a number of Atlanta’s best chefs had made dramatic changes to their restaurants (removing many tables for example) and protocols. Il Giallo has done this in the extreme. We could have danced between the tables; spacing was literally six feet between a significantly reduced number of tables. People were cleaning common surfaces throughout the entrance area and lounge tables. They have removed unneeded items from tables that people tend to handle.
And then of course there is their wonderful food. I went back to one of my old favorites, the Lasagna Matta (“crazy lasagna”). I had forgotten how good Chef Jamie’s version is, which uses the juices from the beef short rib to make a savory béchamel sauce that is wonderful. Il Giallo’s Caesar salad has changed over time, and now is my favorite at any restaurant, with a full and flavorful dressing on fresh half-stalks of romaine, and both light and dark anchovies (unless you prefer different). And of course a reasonably priced wine list with nice variety and quality.
This is an example of a restaurant doing everything to address the issues we face. I am happy to support this extraordinary effort and all their employees.
Found you on Atlanta Eats. Great dining experience. Loved the veal parm and gnocchi I had. We WILL be back!
Our waiter Maurice made great recommendations and provided terrific service. The food was great just like it every time we go, and the rest of the staff was very attentive throughout the meal.
The service was the best part of the night and the food was some of the best we’ve had in a long time. We had multiple different things and can’t wait to go back.
Our waiter was beyond amazing! Such a great guy, amazing wine selection and lets not even start talking about the food! Our food was incredible!
Always fantastic. Great menu, great service and self parking. What can be better!
Fantastic service - very attentive waiter (thanks Matthew!). Quality food with great menu choices and warm ambiance.
Fabulous Italian food and great service.
Great time as always!
Great atmosphere. Great service. Disappointing menu. Tone it down. Be authentic. Puree? I have teeth. Cauliflower? I could go to the farmers market. Keep it simple s. Get it together Atlanta. Take a day trip to Charleston. Take note. So frustrating.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Will definitely be back!
From the moment we walked into il Gaiallo we knew that this was going to be an amazing experience. My husband and I have been looking for a good restaurant and we definitely found it at il Giallo. The bread course was just amazing. We asked for extra to bring home. The salmon bruchetta was to die for and seasoned perfectly. Our dinner courses of the risotto and the gnocchi were perfect. Everything was simply served but as my husband says "The flavors were allowed to shine". Our server was top notch and the manager came to see our table and chat with us at least 3 times. The dessert of cheesecake was really the icing on the cake. We can't wait to come back
It was delicious dinner with a wonderful server. Their short rib lasagna was amazing. And no one could say no to their bread or bread pudding. We'll be back again!!
Our party had the calamari appetizer, and for entrees the spaghetti and meatballs, the salmon and the squid ink seafood pasta. All were delicious, served hot and we would all order any of them again. The restaurant was really busy and the service staff was really hustling. We observed several meals being brought out where it didn't appear that the runners were sure of which table to go to. We received our dinner and they noticed right away that we had no silverware. Our server was a delight but she was also new so we had no complaints. Will definitely eat here again (this was our 3rd time) and would highly recommend it to others.
Great food, great service, and reasonably priced.
Absolutely loved everything. Will be a regular for sure
Outstanding and pleasant services.
Great place overall. Noisy table next to us for a short period but that isn’t the fault of the restaurant. Love the deconstructed short rib lasagna and Matt was an outstanding server.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was not so much so, a lot of the people dinning there, felt the need to stare which made me and my guest feel uncomfortable. Our server was nice, however he kept hovering over our table, even causing it too shake a few time because of the weight he was putting on it, as a fellow server in the service industry, I found that very unprofessional. Besides that, really great food!
Outstanding, very accommodating .The pasta was exceptional, the veal scaloppine was excellent. Our server , Kelsey was very knowledgeable and attentive. Will return soon !
What a wonderful experience. After seeing a story about this restaurant on the local news, we wanted to try it. It was everything and more we had seen in the story. Cute quiet location with very easy access off of 285. Friendliness from the moment you walk in the door. Once seated we were immediately greeted by our server. She was quietly checking in throughout the evening, but never intrusive. She was very knowledgeable about the wines, menu and specials. Offering helpful suggestions that guided our choices. Of our party of four, we all made different selections. My salmon was delicious, my friend had the trout, her husband had their unconventional lasagna and my husband had the risotto. All were perfection. Generous servings but not too much. We will definitely be back!
The duck filled ravioli was excellent as was the salmon. Calamari was awesome but the dipping sauce tasted a little too much like mayo. Had the doughnuts for dessert. Just ok. We had a server who was in training and were left for quite some time with contact. Overall we loved the food minus the dessert
nothing to add. Food is the same good food and the service was friendly but superb.
Excellent food , nice ambiance, not too noisy, reasonably priced... who could ask for more?
