il Giallo Osteria & Bar
While il Giallo means both “Yellow” and “Mystery” in Italian, yellow, the color of the yolk, the sun and the grains, it represents il Giallo’s wholesomeness; the ingredients used will be responsibly sourced, fresh and flavorful. Mystery represents the new, different and exciting flavors and aromas found throughout the constantly evolving il Giallo menu.
We strive to accurately represent the foods and flavors found in the towns and villages along Italy’s Coastal regions, the freshest imaginable hand-made pastas found in the mountains and plains and lest we for forget, the bounty of cured meats, cheeses and olive oils from north to south.
We want to become an extension of your home by providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere where you will want to spend time with friends and family.
Need to book at 7:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Great place overall. Noisy table next to us for a short period but that isn’t the fault of the restaurant. Love the deconstructed short rib lasagna and Matt was an outstanding server.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was not so much so, a lot of the people dinning there, felt the need to stare which made me and my guest feel uncomfortable. Our server was nice, however he kept hovering over our table, even causing it too shake a few time because of the weight he was putting on it, as a fellow server in the service industry, I found that very unprofessional. Besides that, really great food!
Outstanding, very accommodating .The pasta was exceptional, the veal scaloppine was excellent. Our server , Kelsey was very knowledgeable and attentive. Will return soon !
What a wonderful experience. After seeing a story about this restaurant on the local news, we wanted to try it. It was everything and more we had seen in the story. Cute quiet location with very easy access off of 285. Friendliness from the moment you walk in the door. Once seated we were immediately greeted by our server. She was quietly checking in throughout the evening, but never intrusive. She was very knowledgeable about the wines, menu and specials. Offering helpful suggestions that guided our choices. Of our party of four, we all made different selections. My salmon was delicious, my friend had the trout, her husband had their unconventional lasagna and my husband had the risotto. All were perfection. Generous servings but not too much. We will definitely be back!
The duck filled ravioli was excellent as was the salmon. Calamari was awesome but the dipping sauce tasted a little too much like mayo. Had the doughnuts for dessert. Just ok. We had a server who was in training and were left for quite some time with contact. Overall we loved the food minus the dessert
nothing to add. Food is the same good food and the service was friendly but superb.
Excellent food , nice ambiance, not too noisy, reasonably priced... who could ask for more?
This place was beyond what I expected. The food was incredible, staff knowledgeable and caring, and the atmosphere was on point. Perfect decision for date night and will be back for sure!
Poor service. Took a long time for both the salad and entree to show up. The food was not as good as it should of been for the value. I had the spaghetti and meat balls. The sauce was runny .... not cooked long enough and the meat balls were dry.
We had a table of 4 and all of us were disappointed.
Amazing food, service and experience! Everyone goes above and beyond here! We cannot wait to go back!!
They really missed tonight on V-Day. 45 minutes behind on seating and paced the prod fix over 2 more hours. Not shocked to find they had shut down the espresso machine early. Service is always exceptional though. Overbooked and under staffed.
We had reservations scheduled for 8:15. It took them 50 minutes to set us along with several other parties. We left after feeling like our business wasn't appreciated. I will not be back.
Ok place; was too crowded for a private Valentine dinner
Il Giallo always delivers on all counts - food, service, ambience, etc.
Excellent Valentines Day special menu.
Valentines Special Dinner. One of our favorite restaurants but not this night. Had to wait 20 mins. to be seated even though we had a reservation. Ran out of first wine on the wine pairing list so substituted did not like. Soup lukewarm, potatoes actually cold, not even room temperature, steak very chewy. Dessert excellent, soup was very good but would have preferred it warmer. Server tried her best. Felt like restaurant chewed off more than they could handle-restaurant had people waiting all night to be seated and often saw tables empty. Needed more servers. Did comp us nicely for receiving cold potatoes and waiting 30 mins for our first wine.
Would give zero stars if possible. Made reservation three weeks prior to Valentine’s night. Arrived on time and was seated in a meeting room in the back of the restaurant. No ambiance. Everything went downhill from there. Worst service we can remember. Waited 15 minutes for the server to greet us then another 20 minutes for our wine to arrive. The food was underwhelming to say the least. Under seasoned, dry and bland. Waited at least 20 minutes between courses. We had to ask 3 times for a second glass of wine. The lobster tail entree was literally smaller than a jumbo shrimp and the steak was tough and just not good. We finally asked for our check and dessert to be brought at the same time the check arrived after 10 minutes but no dessert!
Basically the night was a disaster and ruined our first Valentine’s Day together.
Chief Jamie out did himself. The four course Valentine's meal was outstanding.
Wonderful Valentines Day dinner. Dispute having a busy night and turning tables, the kitchen and our server did a fantastic job! Delicious food, generous portions!
excellent food. waitress was pleasant, but not very knowledgeable
Valentines Day! Wonderful Experience!
It was romantic and great ambiance
We found the staff to be most professional, courteous and polite. Loved the music, hope you have them back soon. The food was amazing, we had the octopus starter and it was so tender and full of flavor, I had the smoked salmon which was cooked perfectly and my partner had the ravioli. He said it was good and for him that was like saying it was great.
Wonderful fresh in house made pasta! The best veal parmesan in Atlanta .
Lively restaurant with attentive service. Fresh whole fish is a standout. And the amazing homemade pastas! You can watch all the pasta being made right at the kitchen.
Very surprised to have a dinner that I didn’t like. I rave about this place but last trip will make me consider if it’s really as good as I thought it was. The special bream left a lot to be desired. Will stick with old faithful, veal parm.
Always good. Great ravioli and the wine choices are excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful.
A little pricey for the quality. Stick to the pasta, it is made in house.
Outstanding. Better than the Buckhead competitor and less expensive.
The food was very good but it took forever to get it. The restaurant was busy but it shouldn't have taken that long. We waited for our wine, then waited to place our appetizer order, waited for our entree's. The waitress was alittle scatter brained.
Il Giallo is a neighborhood gem and an Atlanta treasure. Chef Jamie is a James Beard Award Winner for his prior Italian Restaurant, Veni Vidi Vici
Our server took our drink order, shared specials and requested that we order all items at once, for the kitchen to pace for us. We ordered. Then we sat. Water glasses were empty. Bread plates were empty (we had to ask for oil & vinegar). We requested more bread, more water. We sat. When the manager asked "How is everything so far?!" I answered "We haven't had anything yet". We had been at the table at least 45 minutes at that point. Suddenly dishes started appearing, although the query about the pasta dish that was ordered as an appetizer portion was met with "oh, did you want that now?'. The attitude of our server took a nosedive. to the point that a dessert was dropped on the table as if it were on fire. Dishes were ordered to share, but no serving utensils were provided, nor dishes. The food was good, nothing exceptional, certainly not worth the price. Overall, I Giallo was a big disappointment for a family celebration. We will not be back.
Not impressed with our evening. Relegated to their ‘overflow room’ and our party of 4 sat at a banquet size table....
Food was ok at best- should have returned entree - fish overcooked and sides very salty.
The service was excellent! Maurice is an outstanding waiter. His suggestions were perfect, from our wine to our salads to our meal. The veal was very delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection. The energy level in the restaurant was oh so inviting. We had a fabulous dining experience!! Thank you.
Birthday celebration. Carl assisted us and provided excellent wine pairing suggestions. This is my “go to” for all special occasion dining!
The food was great, the service was excellent. The only negative was the noise level. More sound-deafening is definitely needed. Overall, it was a really great experience, and I can't wait to go back and have the trout again.
This was our second time to Il Giallo, and it was just as good as we remembered! The staff is wonderful, and the pasta dishes we had were both great. Try the grilled octopus starter - you won’t regret it!
Amazing food! Amazing service! Shirell is the best! Can’t wait to bring my husband in to try!
The food was excellent and very fresh. Amazing bread.
