il Giallo Osteria & Bar
While il Giallo means both “Yellow” and “Mystery” in Italian, yellow, the color of the yolk, the sun and the grains, it represents il Giallo’s wholesomeness; the ingredients used will be responsibly sourced, fresh and flavorful. Mystery represents the new, different and exciting flavors and aromas found throughout the constantly evolving il Giallo menu.
We strive to accurately represent the foods and flavors found in the towns and villages along Italy’s Coastal regions, the freshest imaginable hand-made pastas found in the mountains and plains and lest we for forget, the bounty of cured meats, cheeses and olive oils from north to south.
We want to become an extension of your home by providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere where you will want to spend time with friends and family.
As always an outstanding experience. Not enough can be said about Chef Jamie Adams’ talent and dedication. We sampled an array of dishes including the Tagliatelle with sweet Georgia shrimp, salmon with beets and arugula, and agnolotti with duck and fontina. The special pasta for the evening was fantastic, seasoned with basil in the pasta dough and offered with Scallops. The wine list is well thought out with something for everyone. We enjoyed a Brunello by Carpazo. Be sure to save room for dessert. Bridget was our server and she did a fabulous job. A true professional.
Great service. Fantastic food.
Wonderful food and outstanding service. We were there early (5:30 on a Sunday) and it was very pleasant - the noise level was quite low.
We had a group of 10 and were placed in a private room. The ambiance, service, and food were excellent. Our server team was very attentive, giving us recommendations for appetizers and main courses. The only surprises was the crazy lasagna, which everyone thought would have some sauce and more cheese in it. Not the case, but it was still outstanding.
I did not know about this restaurant until recently. I was very pleased with the overall ambiance of the restaurant and the food was very good. The menu is a little confusing. They advertised a "lasagna" dish and said it was their take on "crazy lasagna". When it came, it looked like beef stroganoff - and tasted like beef stroganoff - so, be careful what you order. The service was great and to see such a vibrant restaurant in Sandy Springs is fantastic. Now we don't have to drive to Buckhead for a fun evening out. It is pricey though, but great for a special occasion.
What a pleasant surprise to have discovered such a wonderful dining experience. From the service to the food, just a perfect place for quality dining. I highly recommend this place for Italian, seafood, steaks and pasta. Fresh and tasteful.
I was disappointed - we have been several times. This time the food was very salty over seasoned.
It was our 50th anniversary. In making the reservation I requested a quite near the windows. We were squeezed at maybe the worst table we have had there. We were planning on going with family Friday night and will probably go to another restaurant.
Never disappoints. Love the new specials every time we go. The people make this place. Gotta go folks, give them a try.
Food was great. Quiet for a modern restaurant, made table conversation very pleasant.
Service very good. Drinks quite expensive.
This restaurant was highly rated on a lot of sites, this was our first time there. Our reservation was for 9:30 and our table was ready upon arrival, but it was still very busy and quite loud. The food was outstanding!!! I don’t think we had the best server though. He was very nice and courteous but didn’t seem to be that knowledgeable in answering our questions, and he was very slow to get our initial drink and appetizer order. My guess is he was still kinda new and learning, which is just fine, but don’t throw them in on a Friday night if they aren’t ready. As the night progressed the place thinned out and I could actually hear my date speaking from across the table. Overall we loved the food, no complaints, but if I return it will be at an off peak time, when it’s quieter and our server won’t be so overwhelmed.
Our server, Virginia, was awesome. We will definitely book her section again if we can. Food was all good and desserts were also excellent. We cannot wait to go back.
I have been in this restaurant several times and always loved it, but something was off this time. It was noisy and hectic, servers kept running around in circles (seemingly) and the whole evening turned to be stressful. We had to keep hunting our server, she was all over the place, and had to ask for specials because she did not offer them. Cesar salad was unappetizing, we sent it back. I will give them another try though. Hopefully it was just an off night.
Great food and service. Very consistent each visit. My favorite place for a special evening.
Grilled octopus appetizer on a bed of mashed potatoes is creative and tasty. Agnolotti is simply spectacular. Sautéed in brown butter and sage. Servive from Cole was outstanding.
Another wonderful experience!
Delicious dinner. Noisier than usual. We’ve had better service during previous dinners but overall a nice dinner
There were 4 guest in our party. I Selected the restaurant prior to going to see "South Pacific". Everyone ordered something different and we all raved about the food and the service.
Staff very pleasant and attentive. Our group was seated in a private room, which allowed our party to talk with ease. Everyone’s food was delicious, and they had the BEST focaccia bread I’ve ever eaten!
Wonderful meal for our 7 year anniversary.
One of my favorite restaurants. Consistently good. Best pasta in town.
We have been several times and always enjoy the food. The service is excellent also. Looking for to the fall and the Osso buco being back on the menu.
We had a family member visiting from LA and he loves to eat at this wonderful restaurant. It did not disappoint. We had 8 for dinner and all agreed that the food was spectacular. Every dish was freshly made and so good. This is our favorite go to place in Atlanta.
The food, service and wine that was suggested by our server was wonderful!
Excellent. Had never been but tried several times and it has always been booked and now we know why!
My husband and I went out for a date night dinner. Everything we ate was delicious. Our server was friendly and offered explanations and suggestions from the menu. It was a little loud, but not overwhelmingly so. We will definitely return!
We had dined here when it first opened several years ago and couldn’t figure out why we never went back. So we decided to give it another try. It was a busy Saturday night, but we were seated right away. Our waiter arrived in a respectable amount of time and we enjoyed his service the entire evening. He was busy, so he wasn’t overly engaging and available, but we had nothing to complain about. We felt all the food was very good. From the delicious, dense focaccia to our entree of veal and side of pasta bolognese, we were pleased with every bite. (And even the little spot of pasta we took home, reheated perfectly and was quite tasty). So here’s the only thing we would change if we could that would make us more frequent diners. The decor and design was a bit spare and cold feeling. The wide open space, bare tables and serviceable chairs felt a little like the Colonnade or a Piccadilly rather than the neighbor dining establishment this is. The acoustic tiles on the ceiling, while doing a terrific job of keeping the all booming sounds of most restaurants at bay, also felt a little institutional. There was a distinct lack of intimacy in the dining experience. Because of the two-thumbs-up quality of the food, we’ve decided to give it one more try. Next time we will sit at the bar or in the lounge and see if that can change our minds about the ambiance. We’re hoping it will!
We were delighted to all dine at the Chef's table for my birthday. Our server, Virginia, was wonderful as usual, and she was very attentive to our group of 12. We were especially grateful for the gratis appetizers of a tuna salad and a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Everyone's dinner was delicious and there were many variations of favorite pasta. salmon and whitefish dishes. Deserts are always a treat and there were no exceptions, including a beautiful happy birthday platter of chocolate delights. Many, many thanks to Chef Jamie and Leo Moura for a most memorable evening at 'il Giallo."
As always, we had a evening. Perfect spot for our group!
Nice evening with friends celebrating an anniversary. Food, service and ambience made for an excellent enjoyable evening !
I loved this place. Took a friend for his bday. He loved it and he tried some new food he dont really eat. Will be back
It was great!!
Family Birthday Party of 10, excellent Food, Service & Seating!
Everyone enjoyed & Deserts were great..
Food was excellent- service was slow. Given how good the food was, we declared it worth the wait. We’ll definitely go back but don’t plan on a “quick” meal.
First time eating here. My wife and I wanted a nice time out at a nice restaurant, and were pleased to find such a great spot. We were warmly greeted by the staff, and though we were early for our reservation, they went out of there way to show us a spot we could sit at right away, or we could wait for our reserved spot. We chose to take a table that was in a very good spot. Our server, Crystal, was simply excellent. Very friendly, not pushy or overbearing. Just the right amount of interaction so my my wife and I could enjoy our time. When she thought our meal was taking a bit too long (we did not think so) she had a complimentary cheese dish brought to our table. My wife had the trout special and loved it. Perfectly cooked, hot but not too hot, and just the right amount of seasoning. I had the pappardelle pasta special and absolutely loved it. Cooked just the way I like it. Both dishes were prepare just right, and for dessert we had the caramel panna cotta. The dessert was the perfect touch to end an excellent dinner. It's an open restaurant so you hear a lot of conversation, but the sound doesn't travel as much as you might think. So I would rate the surrounding noise as light to moderate. We were easily able to have a conversation without raising our voices. This is an excellent spot for a great meal, excellent service, an moderate pricing. We'll definitely go back again.
Great room, terrific service and amazing food.
Noted birthday on open table but no one acknowledged it.
The kitchen was slow and it took us a long time to get our food, but everyone was very nice and apologetic about it. They took care of our salad and appetizer and gave us free lasagna. When the food did come it was incredible. I will definitely come back.
The food was fabulous and service was great! We always enjoy this restaurant. Our only complaint was the noise level was a little loud as we we seated near a large party.
Our party of 6 was served well. We sampled a pasta dish, salmon entrée, tuna bowl, veal parm, and of course the bread and wine. All were delightful! We had a great experience. If we could change one thing - we would have been seated at a bigger table. The 6 of us were closely-placed at a round table that would have been really comfy for 4 or 5.
The food was excellent. We really enjoyed passing around our different dinner choices among our group to sample... all were deemed good. Our waiter, Carl, was friendly, informative, and very responsive to all our requests. We arrived early and spent some time at the bar. The bartender was also very friendly and attentive. We ordered a diverse group of cocktails and all were prepared perfectly. All in all, a great evening. We will be back.
