il Giallo Osteria & Bar
While il Giallo means both “Yellow” and “Mystery” in Italian, yellow, the color of the yolk, the sun and the grains, it represents il Giallo’s wholesomeness; the ingredients used will be responsibly sourced, fresh and flavorful. Mystery represents the new, different and exciting flavors and aromas found throughout the constantly evolving il Giallo menu.
We strive to accurately represent the foods and flavors found in the towns and villages along Italy’s Coastal regions, the freshest imaginable hand-made pastas found in the mountains and plains and lest we for forget, the bounty of cured meats, cheeses and olive oils from north to south.
We want to become an extension of your home by providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere where you will want to spend time with friends and family.

Food is outstanding. For the price it’s great value and good food. Highly recommend it
Our was celebrating a birthday. The food was great as always. I had the farfalle, my wife had the whole fish. The pasta is fresh made. My buddy had the veal parmagiana, and really like it. And we had a lovely bottle of wine.
We went here for our Anniversary. They seated us right away at our reservation time. The wait staff was attentive. Food was excellent. I would highly recommend
Ordered Tuna entree. Felt like that there should have been one more component to the dish. Seemed somewhat unsubstantial
Nice wine selection and food prepared well. Price is reasonable.
calamari was tender but bland,
bruschetta was tasteless
calamari was tender and tasty but mashed potatoes a poor cushion for them
eggplant was smoky and therefore unappetizing for our personal tastes
pasta with marinara was fine
panda cotton was nice once we took out the balsamic topping
our server was very nice however kitchen messed up our order
Our order took ~45 minutes to prepare, several diners seated after our party finished their entree prior to the arrival of our order. The manager came out and apologized bringing complimentary Arugula salads for
our inconvenience. The food was well prepared but not worth the inordinate wait time. I would have expected either an adjustment of one entree removed from our bill.
We celebrated our anniversary. Dinner choices were very good and the meals were excellent.
David is very knowledgeable with the meal offerings and especially good for choosing wine parings.
The atmosphere was great. The service was excellent. And the food was top-notch. Try the Duck Ravioli! It is superb.
My husband and I were treating a friend to a birthday dinner.
Julius was our waiter and was very attentive, answered questions
and was friendly. Food was great. Hubby had the special rib eye, I had the veal scallopini and our friend had the tagliatelle. We all loves our meals. Dessert was delicious “donuts” with fresh whipped cream. Yum.
Excellent Italian food. Great service. Nice wine selection.
I was visiting family in Atlanta and have been struggling to find a good Italian restaurant that approaches Boston’s North End. Il Giallo Osteria and Bar made the cut. The food was excellent as was the service by Virginia. The gnocchi was light and airy as it should be. The NY Strip steak special was very good, but next time I’ll try a pasta dish.
Excellent service. Pastas very fresh and innovative. Great wine selection. Bread pudding was divine.
Food was great. Waiter was grumpy and got worse when we didn’t choose the more expensive bottle of wine he suggested.
Excellent restaurant if you want good cuisine in a roomy restaurant that allows you to hear your conversation
We were celebrating our anniversary! The staff made it awesome! Being foodies, we were totally impressed with the octopus—- one of the best appetizers —EVER!
Great meal and service
Met up with friends to debrief on our respective Italian vacations. This was the perfect spot. Very good food, really good wine list.
I was the only one in my party who had not already been there. They had told me how good it was, and it did not disappoint!
Do not like new menu as much as the old. If you do not sit in rhe bar it is very noisy. Service excellent.
Service was the best part. Italian is so common. It's so hard to be both on point and accessible. Service is even tougher these days. il Giallo knocked it out of the park for my small group. Don't be fooled by the location. It's worth the effort to get to. Note to chocolate lovers: Get dessert.
You know how you look forward to having a great meal and then it’s just not there? This was one of those experiences. We tried this restaurant shortly after they opened and thought it was ok, planning to try it again. A friend was excited to try it for the first time as she loved Veni Vedi Veci . My wife and I shared the fish special and it was terrible! Fish over cooked, potatoes mushy, and the tomato broth weak......all for $29. Our friend got the veal and it was over seasoned with lemon. She took a few bites and asked to take it home saying it was so rich she couldn’t eat any more. It’s really not hard to put out good food and I find it unacceptable to have a restaurant that doesn’t! We will not be returning.
We love coming to Il Giallo, and have never had a bad meal or been disappointed. It is truly one of our favorite restaurants!
Excellent food and service! Came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday and our server Carl was great, very friendly and happy to help answer any questions about the menu. The food was outstanding! Fresh handmade pasta, when done right, is the most perfect food out there to me and this was very very good. We had a couple pasta dishes and the veal scallopine, a couple apps to start and desserts and nobody had anything bad to say about any of the food! Can’t say enough good things about this place and I will be recommending it to anyone I know looking for a good dinner in the sandy springs area!
Amazing food and service. Phemonemal food ...
Enjoyed very much in previous visits. Recent menu changes result in a limited selection for some of my guests and my palate. Veal dish was partly dry and over cooked. Sharon at the bar is very nice and hospitable. I have gone form a recommend to a not recommend and it is unlikely that I will vivid again. Too bad!
I appreciated that we never felt rushed. It was a leisurely evening catching up with friends and we were allowed to set our own pace. Thank you.
The food was super - I had something that I never usually order in Italian restaurants - the Spaghetti with Meatballs (it's usually too mundane for me). But I thought that the seafood offerings looked weird. Anyway, this was simple the best Spaghetti and Meatballs I've ever had. My friend had the gnocchi - which were also great - very light and fluffy, with a perfect white cream sauce.
My only complaint is that it took 1 hour from the time we were seated, to get our food. They make the pasta fresh for each order, and only had 1 person making it (on a Friday night!), with occasional help from another person. No matter how good the food is, that's simply too long to wait.
Awesome food and great service, will definitely go again
The new menu is great! We had not been to il Giallo in a very long time because we were not crazy about several menu items and their execution. With the new menu, Il Giallo is on our list of favorite Sandy Springs restaurants!
Bravo il giallo !!! You're on of my favorite restaurants. For couples having dinner as well as girls night out.
Il Giallo has just made the first extensive revision of its menu since opening. The new dishes are a welcome addition to a restaurant that has always been consistently excellent.
Been here a few times. Food has always been great. The server was great. However the people filling water kept reaching across table to grab water glasses. We were not in a booth but a table for four with plenty of space around table. I just find this unacceptable and a restaurant like this.
All our meals have been excellent, we have enjoyed the lamb and feel shank kn both occasions.
The restaurant is very noisy.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta!!
They just changed their menu and it is incredible! The service is outstanding and our server was so sweet and attentive!
Their arugula salad with peaches is out of this world and so is the Tortelli!
This was not our first time dining with Il Giallo and certainly will not be the last. The service, comfort and food were all excellent! Our waitress was attentive without being interruptive in any way. The food... simply sumptuous! Definitely one of the places on our “must go back soon” list.
Dessert was good but not good enough to make me go back. The drink was good but again, not good enough to make me go back. My wife’s pasta dish was fresh but lacked flavor. My duck filled ravioli had sort of an intense brine flavor that was not to my liking. I had high hopes based on the photos & reviews but I was surprisingly disappointed. No need for me to go back. Service and ambiance was great though.
