we went for my belated birthday lunch. It was ok. the panini was fine, i didn't really care for the taste of the beef. The sauce on the sandwich was too mustardy. I didn't care for the tirimisou as there was butterscotch sauce on that. who does that?
For some reason the restaurant wasn't aware or prepared for my arrival although I did make a reservation.
Our server was friendly & attentive. Great Foodlicious options. I thoroughly enjoyed the mussel appetizer
My friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner and i had the salad and pizza and she had the soup and salmon. The food was ok but I have had better elsewhere. The service wasn't very quick and the sorbet we had tasted like orange peels. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.
Bland food, would not go again unfortunately. Nothing more to add
My friend and I went for summerlicious. We were very happy with both of our meals. It's tasty and very filling. I absolutely loved my tiramisu.
I participated in Summerlicious at Il Fornello for lunch. For $18 I had an AMAZING meal. I tried the mussels, pizetta of the day, and tiramisu. It was all amazing and very filling for the price paid. Service was also very professional and relatively quick.
We had the best waiter.....think Brian was his name.....great sense of humor
Solid all around. Good pizza & pasta. Good for lunch or casual meal.
The server could have been a little gentle with the plates when tabling our food.
The servers did not have any consideration for the diners sitting close to the station where the dirty dishes were placed. VERY NOISY.
I have another reservation on July 18th I will make sure that I do not have the same server or be seated in the same area.
Food was delicious, service was friendly and prompt. I will definitely have lunch here again
Two of us arrived separately, gave the same reservation name at check in - were both told we were the first to arrive and were seated at opposite ends of the restaurant. Only 15 minutes later did we figure out the mistake. Hostess didn't even apologize. Not a good start to a business lunch.
There wasn't many people there at 8pm on a Saturday night, so that was a bit uncomfortable. Our server barely acknowledged us. Not sure if it was his personality or the fact that we were there for the Mirvish Dine and Dazzle. Disappointing.
Went before a Mirvish show. Speedy service, good Prix fixe, tasty meal. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food. Nice ambiance. Fast service and amazing servers!
Great soup, salad and chicken parm. Service was excellent. We used this restaurant as part of the Mirvish Special.
The dining experience was great, however the restrooms need attention.
I was there for lunch on a Saturday and the place was empty until mid-way through our meal. Service was good, but that is to be expected when you are the only customer. We both had salads which were very good. There was a faint musty smell where we were sitting by the window that wasn't pleasant.
We were very lucky to already have reservations. But our table location was horrible. Just two of us, and I had to have my back to a main thoroughfare for the wait staff. I ended up with an oil/food spill on the back of my jacket...and had my purse bumped into all night. My purse wasn't big, but it was hung on the back of my chair. Overall we had very speedy service, even though I had to wait for my companion to join me. My pizza was super soggy. Her pasta was good. Only reason we go here is because of its great location to the theatres.
My sister and I attended a concert in Toronto and this was our location of choice for dinner. We have been here before and we are never disappointed. The food is excellent, menu has s variety of choices for all types of diets. They are very accommodating for my sisters nut allergy and never fuss about special menu.
This time it was a little loud but only bc it was sold out. We made a reservation and experienced no wait times.
The food is so delicious and the service is always prompt and pleasant. We are definitely going back.
Thank you for making our evening even better.
extremely noisy and tables crowded together. fairly dependable food and quick service
Rude host, terrible small, food just ok. We couldn't make reservation for a big table and booked 2 small and asked host to sit us at least close to each other and she even didn't try to accommodate.
Good food, great location (when heading to a theater next) and the service is efficient.
This was the 3rd time we enjoyed dining at Fornellos prior to the show. Although pleased with
all aspects, we must mention:
a.) The salmon was nor as soft as usual.
b.) the waiter service was exceptional
We made reservations 2 weeks in advance and, although not correctly registered, were accommodated in good time.
We took advantage of the "prix fixe" menu that came with the theatre/dinner package we bought. Although it wasn't indicative of the full range of possibilities from the main menu, we each found something that we enjoyed and left the restaurant satisfied. Our server was attentive and friendly.
Our server was excellent, friendly and informed. We were thee for pre theatre dinner, everything arrived promptly, although had to ask for pepper and parm
We were there for the theatre dinner special with a fixed price menu. We enjoyed the meal and portions were more than adequate. Our table wasn't in a great location, as there was a school group right next to us and it got pretty loud. The service as good and our waiter was friendly. I would go back and also recommend it to others.
We were running late for our reservation due to traffic, and the hostess was excellent about it. Our waiter found out we were pressed for time as a result, and he made sure our order went in quickly. The food came hot and ready not too long after we ordered, and it was delicious. Very good service and food.
Great place to have lunch or early dinner before attending the theatre. Food was excellent, cooked to perfection.
Not enough servers on the floor. Service was slow, even when server was made aware that we had a concert. At 7:30. We were there from 5:45 until 7:25.
Although we were late due to traffic, our table was held for us.
Food was good and service was quick and efficient.
The pasta was mushy. The waiter was very thoughtful. I asked for very lite on the cheese on chicken parm. And it arrived perfect.
Food was very nicely presented and excellent. Great choice for dinner after the afternoon theatre.
Atmosphere very nice. Server was energetic, friendly , made some great suggestions and did not rush us. The set menu was great, lots of choices and variety
We dined in advance of our TSO concert at RTH and were seated at table # 42. My guest was facing the kitchen which was a bit hectic and a little distracting for conversation; however, we appreciated having a window seat. Our charming server was Brian and he was excellent, both in terms of timing and courtesy. Enjoyed our meal and will always return to this Il Fornello especially when it involves theatre and TSO outings.
Enjoyed meal with friends. However, I dropped my scarf and tried calling, no answer, to see if it was picked up and can I drop by for it.
Always good good. Great location near theatres and concert hall. Service is attentive and friendly. Very noisy the night we went because it was filled with women going to see Jann Arden.
We had a wonderful family dining experience. The service was great and the pizzas were delicious. We will return next time we are in Toronto.
Have been here on numerous occasions and never disappointed. Service is fast and accommodating.
The food was very nicely prepared and beautifully presented. Our server was excellent! One member in the group is allergic to certain foods and our server steered him through the menu and made certain the food was to his liking. She maintained a professional and friendly demeanour at all times.
Five of us all enjoyed our meal and were able to visit easily. Came after 'Strickly Ballroom' and it is so handy.
