Il Fornello on King Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner and i had the salad and pizza and she had the soup and salmon. The food was ok but I have had better elsewhere. The service wasn't very quick and the sorbet we had tasted like orange peels. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.
The server could have been a little gentle with the plates when tabling our food.
The servers did not have any consideration for the diners sitting close to the station where the dirty dishes were placed. VERY NOISY.
I have another reservation on July 18th I will make sure that I do not have the same server or be seated in the same area.
Two of us arrived separately, gave the same reservation name at check in - were both told we were the first to arrive and were seated at opposite ends of the restaurant. Only 15 minutes later did we figure out the mistake. Hostess didn't even apologize. Not a good start to a business lunch.
I was there for lunch on a Saturday and the place was empty until mid-way through our meal. Service was good, but that is to be expected when you are the only customer. We both had salads which were very good. There was a faint musty smell where we were sitting by the window that wasn't pleasant.
We were very lucky to already have reservations. But our table location was horrible. Just two of us, and I had to have my back to a main thoroughfare for the wait staff. I ended up with an oil/food spill on the back of my jacket...and had my purse bumped into all night. My purse wasn't big, but it was hung on the back of my chair. Overall we had very speedy service, even though I had to wait for my companion to join me. My pizza was super soggy. Her pasta was good. Only reason we go here is because of its great location to the theatres.
My sister and I attended a concert in Toronto and this was our location of choice for dinner. We have been here before and we are never disappointed. The food is excellent, menu has s variety of choices for all types of diets. They are very accommodating for my sisters nut allergy and never fuss about special menu.
This time it was a little loud but only bc it was sold out. We made a reservation and experienced no wait times.
The food is so delicious and the service is always prompt and pleasant. We are definitely going back.
Thank you for making our evening even better.
This was the 3rd time we enjoyed dining at Fornellos prior to the show. Although pleased with
all aspects, we must mention:
a.) The salmon was nor as soft as usual.
b.) the waiter service was exceptional
We made reservations 2 weeks in advance and, although not correctly registered, were accommodated in good time.
We took advantage of the "prix fixe" menu that came with the theatre/dinner package we bought. Although it wasn't indicative of the full range of possibilities from the main menu, we each found something that we enjoyed and left the restaurant satisfied. Our server was attentive and friendly.
We were there for the theatre dinner special with a fixed price menu. We enjoyed the meal and portions were more than adequate. Our table wasn't in a great location, as there was a school group right next to us and it got pretty loud. The service as good and our waiter was friendly. I would go back and also recommend it to others.
We were running late for our reservation due to traffic, and the hostess was excellent about it. Our waiter found out we were pressed for time as a result, and he made sure our order went in quickly. The food came hot and ready not too long after we ordered, and it was delicious. Very good service and food.
We dined in advance of our TSO concert at RTH and were seated at table # 42. My guest was facing the kitchen which was a bit hectic and a little distracting for conversation; however, we appreciated having a window seat. Our charming server was Brian and he was excellent, both in terms of timing and courtesy. Enjoyed our meal and will always return to this Il Fornello especially when it involves theatre and TSO outings.
The food was very nicely prepared and beautifully presented. Our server was excellent! One member in the group is allergic to certain foods and our server steered him through the menu and made certain the food was to his liking. She maintained a professional and friendly demeanour at all times.
