Il Fornello - Danforth Ratings and Reviews
My colleagues and I visited a couple of times 2 weeks in a row. The service was good and friendly. The first time we visited we had food and drinks. The second time just drinks.
The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way, considering I am a seasoned consultant in the hospitality industry, is that NOT ONE person said goodbye or thanks for coming in on the way out. Everyone completely ignored us - both times. My colleagues noticed this as well. Being in the industry, we certainly did not tip poorly and we treated our server well.
Nonetheless, we have decided to change locations for our business lunches for awhile. Perhaps by the time we return, the team will be inclined to acknowledge our presence on the way out.
Took forever to order, had to speak to 2 other workers to grab our server. Was not offered bread, did not have our drinks replenished at any point during our meal. When our entrees were brought out the server only brought one fork. Very poor dining experience.
I loved that they can provide child size portions from the main menu. The price was great!
Very family friendly and obviously liked by same since many children there.
Good pasta and prompt, friendly and good service. Very generous desserts.
I made a reservation for 5:45 on a Friday and was glad I did as the place filled up within 15 minutes! The child with me, loved watching the pizza oven and the very efficient chefs in the open kitchen/grill area.
Surprisingly amazing ! Terrific food, especially the wood oven pizzas . Cozy and friendly atmosphere with attentive service ! The restaurant was PACKED but we still felt very well taken care of. My date was vegan and opted for a gluten free pizza with tofurella cheese ( tofu based cheese ) . The server was pleasant and didn't mind making all the modifications . Everything was DELISH !
The patio looks like a hit and we cannot wait to come back when the weather is warmer for some patio lounging and great beer and cocktails here !
