Great lunch spot if your in the mood for Italian food in the Village. Great Sangria and Halibut special. Bread for $2 wow! come on...this should not be charged. Especially in an Italian restaurant. Bread was plain nothing special.
Expensive restaurant that serves good food. My only drawback is to be an up class Italian restaurant they don’t serve complimentary bread. Food was good. Specially the pizzas.
GREAT Service from Juan...delicious food...thank you!
A wonderful evening. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Ambience was comfortably elegant.
Great all around
It’s unfortunate that the restaurant now charges money for bread. Also, we went on our actual wedding anniversary, it would have been nice if they had brought out a dessert. When I asked the waitress, she said maybe I could bring you a scoop of ice cream. I said no thanks.
We were with another couple. Service was perfect. We had appetizers, an entree, and dessert. The food was wonderful. Not any special occasion but definitely memorable.
Delicious, good quality food, great service and excellent prices. Highly recommended.
The food was very good, except the lasagna sauce was too tomato tasting,
not enough meat, garlic or basil. Considering how empty the restaurant was, I would have expected the service to be much better.
Had to ask several times for water, bread and the check.
Always consistent… I’ve been coming to Il Fornaio (different locations) for years😀
The food at Il Fornaio is consistently good. I've eaten at the Woodland Hills and other Los Angeles area locations many times in recent years and have never been disappointed. On the most recent visit we were seated at our request at one of the quieter outside areas. For a while we were the only guests in that area and I wondered if our server might forget us. That was not the case. Anthony checked back with us frequently during our meal. When asked, he made a couple of excellent recommendations.
Top notch service combined with excellent well prepared food. Cant beat it.
Service has really gone down since before the pandemic. Waited about 15 minutes for water. Our soup was cold when it finally came after asking a few times. You pay for your bread now. So sad.
Great service. Excellent food
Food was cold and service not too attentive. I understand it was Mother’s Day but not an excuse for food and service. Maybe will give it another try
Great Food and Drink... and lovely Server:) Try the wine flight! Yummm!
I was very excited to try Il Fornaio after hearing such great things. It was a huge disappointment. We told our server we DEFINITELY wanted dessert, asked for VERY little garlic, and both requests were ignored. Big chunks of garlic, and server never returned to get dessert order, have our dirty dishes taken away, or bring the check. I had to get up after 15 minutes of sitting with dirty plates in front of us, and ask for it them to be cleared. The odd part was there was another waiter and helper in our small area with several other diners, and they both came and went many times and just ignored us. Our check would have been well over $100 if she had bothered to come back to order dessert, and we were excited to do the "Tip the check" thing because we hadn't been out in over a year. I did tip 20% but don't think I've ever tipped that little on dinner.
Delicious food and friendly staff
Service wasn’t great. Charging for bread was ridiculous.
Everything else was ok
One my preferred place to eat, especially breakfast. Food is clean and healthy. Service is cordial and elegant
Great arugula salad with couscous. And sparkling conundrum rose. A lunch can’t get much better.
It was very hot and I couldn’t be seated until my other party got there. No water nothing. Finally seated in the sun. When we ordered happy hour we were told that was another patio. We weren’t told that so we had to lock up and move. Waited 20 minutes until someone asked if we had been approached. He ended up taking nice care of us. There were three gals at the hostess stand and no one could explain the happy hour. Very disappointed.
We had an amazing meal with fabulous service! Hadn’t been to Il Fornio in a while and we were so happy with our food and it was warm and cozy! Would go back anytime!
Very pleasant and felt safe outdoors
Excellent service but portion are kind of small for the price. Other than that, great experience.
Nice atmosphere and good food makes for a nice evening dinner.
the food was great and the service was great also. i highly reccommend this place
Always an excellent service and the best food!!
Please tell the hostess to check people in who have a reservation and give them a table first and not take in folks that are walk in. I was told to wait and others were given tables before because they were a walk-in.
Food was okay. Diners were very well spaced out. Server nearly ruined a bottle of wine by breaking the cork. A manager came by and saved her.
Everything was great definitely coming back
Love the food
Booked a week in advance, outdoor setting, there were plenty of times available at the time of booking, specified special occasion. At the host check in time they decided to seat my family in a far corner inside of the restaurant. I asked why? “Because we are pretty booked”. Well... After I insisted to go outdoors, they found an OK option in the tent, outside, not the best seating. Food and service was good. Choppy, inattentive check in service didn’t set a dinner in a right no. Will I come again? May be, for an occasional dinner. Will I come for a celebration? Definitely no.
Salads and service top notch. I am very glad the restaurant has opened up again for lunch. Will be back many times.
Excellent halibut and chicken dishes. Service was impeccable.
Nice patio dining
Except for the Margherita pizza, everything was very bland.
We’ve had very nice dinners here before.(3 years ago) but it’s obviously gone through a big change. It was 5:30pm way before any big dinner rush & yet there were crumbs everywhere on the booth bench. The menus were stained with food yet they gave them to us anyway. The food was also unrefined.
Ordered the salmon with the Stars of Michelangelo cocktails, both were delicious. Customer service was great and rapid. The only issue we had was that the meals were timed. I believe it’s about an hour and ten minutes per reservation due to COVID-19. It was the first I’ve heard of it but it’s not unlikely for COVID-19 restrictions.
Great service. Staff was very attentive. Food was spectacular. It was our first time dining here and will definitely go back again.
I made outdoor birthday dinner reservations 2 weeks in advance. I had spoken to them twice that morning regarding outdoor dining. When I got there 10 minutes early, they had no table scheduled for me. We were a party of 6 and they only had 2 outdoor tables for 6. They were seating a person at one table as I arrived and the other table was seated 20 minutes before I got there and had no need for a table for 6. They offered me inside - no! Then they offered the outdoor tent which we finally took. This is too far away for servers to adequately take care of their customers. The final straw was soup being served with no spoon. By the time the server stopped by and I said I needed a spoon and she later returned with one, the soup was tepid at best. I took it to go. I understand this is Covid and restaurants are trying to do their best but the courtesy of honoring reservations is a priority in this time, since we could not go anywhere else without one. We were stuck. I will not be returning.
