This restaurant is a hidden gem, it’s has great ambiance the service is amazing and the food is great.
Absolutely fabulous...can’t wait to go back!!
The food is excellent here but the service is extremely slow. We were seated for 30 minutes before we got a menu.
Enjoyed the risotto and chicken very much. We enjoyed the bartenders service even more. Lovely old school style Italian.
I have travelled around the world from five star restaurants to dive bars and everything in between and never in my life have I ever experienced service as bad as what occured this past Saturday at Il Falco. I wanted to treat my out of town relatives whom I have not seen in over 10 years to a special dinner. We had spent a wonderful day at the Met museum and wanted to end our evening with a dinner near their hotel in L.i.C. As we ordered our appetizers and our drinks our waiter rushed us to order our main course and kept asking in a rude tone when we are going to order. We brushed this off as we assumed the kitchen was about to get busy and perhaps this is why we were rushed. After our main dish and wine we ordered our desserts and a single coffee. After our desserts were served, without the coffee, we were told by one of the staff members who was introduced as a "manager" we had to leave within 5 minutes because we were "taking too long" and there was "another reservation" (at 10:30PM!) Again, in a very rude tone. We responded that we would get up when they have completed our order and bring out the coffee. We had to remind him again we ordered the coffee. Before we even finished the coffee (which was brought out AFTER our check) we were asked again in a rude tone if we have made our payment. Of course with this type of service we would not offer the full tip (on a bill over $450 nonetheless) and when we only placed 15% our waiter returned and demanded a full 20% which is the 'suggested' tip and declared he's "working for his tips'. At this point we were embarassed and made to feel guilty. Not ones to argue, we added the full tip which was completly undeserved. On our way out we requested to speak to the real manager (not same the guy who introduced himself as the manager originally) the hostess advised us there is a 2 hour limit for patrons to dine (WHICH IS NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE!) How ridiculous! No discount or refund would ever bring me back to this place.
Celebrated my birthday at Il Falco. The food was exceptional as was the service. A little pricey but good for special occasions. The portions are generous.
What a find! Some of the best classic Italian food I have ever had. I ordered veal chop parmigian and an 1/2 order of linguini with marinara. OUTSTANDING!!
Love everything about this place . The ambience
The food, drinks , dessert
The staff is super attentive
Everything about this place was awesome. Came here with friends but easily could come here for a date or a family event too. Food was great, prices decent, and our service was outstanding. Our waiter was so kind and generous to us. We had a ton of fun, was not rushed in any way, and will certainly be back.
The food here is delicious! Service was great until the end. We finished our entrees and no one ever came back to our table to see if we wanted more wine, dessert etc. I finally asked for my check multiple times before we could leave.
have been twice - food this time with the exception of the burrata ( outstanding) was tired tasting and overdone with sauce and luke warm, and overseasoned . Seemed to be overwhelmed with other tables later - nothing special this time ...but will always give a third op to insure fairness of evaluation. The rear of the restaurant is closed for the season which is understandable - but stuff is just stacked and strewn around - not appealing if you are seated by the doors.
Absolutely perfect the service to the food was phenomenal , anniversary dinner with my girlfriend was perfect thanks to them ! Definitely recommend
Was pleasantly surprised.
Food was well prepared
Wonderful and fresh.
The service was attentive and professional
Pleasant with a good vibe
Will be back.
Three strikes and your out. I have been there three times with reservations. Twice through open table and once phoned in reservations. All three times we had to wait anywhere from 30-45 minuets for a table. The hostess is totally incompetent, lies to you about wait times. The food and service here are good but I will not be returning. I expect to be seated within 15 minutes of my reservation. We finally were offered a table upstairs in a party room, not where we wanted to sit, a bunch of animals were screaming and yelling at a grandmothers birthday party. Rude and out of control. The waiters did there best, comped us dessert, but the aggravation it caused made the night a bust.
Il Falco is a real find. Wonderful ambiance and service. Excellent food but be sure to ask the price of the daily specials -- they're 2x the price of the items on the menu!
It was our first time in Long Island City. Il Falco was a great fine. A fine dining italian restaurant. The food was very good and the service was even better. I would definitely return.
Food was outstanding. Lots of specials. We absolutely loved the clams casino with bacon (forget the name). Dim lights, romantic atmosphere
Food is always excellent- specials are a delight to hear- & have. Service is very good, wait staff very knowledgeable, professional & friendly. Noise level is the only concern. Big groups can kill all the conversation at your table.
We were very happy with our choice to come to this restaurant. The food, service and ambiance were exceptional
We celebrated my mom birthday. Great service. Pasta with seafood was delicious. My mom loved her red snapper. Would have given 5 stars but we ordered Italian Cheesecake, and it definitely wasn't Italian cheesecake. Plus $14.95 desserts. Almost the price of my pasta, lol
This was my second time at Il Falco and it was even better than I had remembered. I went for a quiet dinner with my parents and it was amazing. The food is delicious and brings me back to Italy with simple quality ingredients. The chef really brings out the natural flavor of all the seafood we had. The staff are all friendly and attentive. It is a nice place for a sit down, take a break from your hectic life meal. Both times I have been here it was about a two hour meal, and it was a nice change from other restaurants that are rushing you out. Great place for amazing food and drink with friends and family for a good conversation.
Great spot - love the food here and plenty of options
I booked this restaurant for a birthday celebration with about 7 of my friends. We have been to many places along the LIC waterfront, so I wanted to try something new. Reviews described this place as off the beaten path of normal LIC restaurants but still amazing quality, so I decided to try here in the hopes of finding a different dinner option when in the area.
The hostess would not seat us because we were missing a few guests even though the table that we were to sit in was not occupied. The table was cramped and circular for 8 guests to sit and eat at. The waitstaff was attentive and wore tuxedos, which is not something you see often. The food was classic Italian fare, the type of meals that you can find at probably hundreds of restaurants throughout the 5 boroughs. I did not dislike my time there because the waitstaff was so nice, even coming out and singing for my birthday. I just wish the seating had been better. I would not recommend this place for large parties of people, although it looked like they had an upstairs room reserved for parties.
I also just don't think the location of this restaurant is ideal. They are on a residential block currently next to a lot of construction. I had hoped the overall experience would cancel out the strange location. Would recommend this place for a quiet date night but not anything larger than that.
Amazing food, staff and ambiance! Thank you for such an excellent experience:)
We’ve lived in the area for over 10 years and we finally made it out to dinner for my wife’s birthday tonight and we had a fantastic time. We arrived and were greeted by Erika. Jose served us at the bar while we waited for our table. Senzo, Giovanni, and Jonathan took over and treated us like family. The service, food and hospitality was unforgettable. The passion and sincerity of the staff is palpable. We plan to return for every family occasion!
Two Thumbs way up!!
Service was friendly but chaotic and slow. Food was tasty but unless you are in the neighborhood I would not make the effort. Lots of great places close to the water. That is what we will do next time.
The food at Il Falco is always great - this is a review of the terrible service. Last time I went there, I felt really rushed throughout the whole meal. This time was the complete opposite. I made an 8pm reservation to sit outside. We didn’t get seated until 8:50...indoors. (We later asked and were told outside dining is closed - that would have been nice to know prior to us arriving!!)
We had to sit at the bar for 50 minutes. They didn’t even comp our full bar tab, only part of it. And they only gave us free cheese and olives (and a round of wine) because we made a stink.
Once we were seated, they more or less forgot about us. Though I will say the guy who was in charge of refilling our water glasses was CRUSHING it.
We live nearby, and don’t think we’ll go back any time soon despite the super tasty food. Such a shame :(
A mini celebration of my engagement
Dined here to celebrate a college graduation! Overall nice time. Excellent service. Out of eight of us only six were completely satisfied with meal. The steaks were not cooked to order. LOVED the Limoncello at the end of the meal.
Il Falco is the best !
Everything was excellent I really recommend this place !
I was looking forward to have some good italian-american dinner....It was a total fracas.
I thought that it would be something comparable to the places were the owners had forged their
Favorite restaurant and generally another superb experience as re: food quality, tastes (OMG), presentation, service, grace, style, charm: everything. Couple of minor disappointments this time, though. In my rez I asked whether they might do something special for dessert as it was our wedding anniversary, noting that we're regular customers. Nothing was done or even said. Also, the brussels sprouts were described as crispy; they certainly were not.
Arrived in time for our 5:30 pre-theater dinner reservation. We were the first people in the restaurant after a large party that took up the entire restaurant. We were seated promptly and given our drinks but it took 3x asking and 25 minutes to get our menus and another 10 mins for them to come take our order. Then it took another 35 mins for our food to arrive. We were open about having theater tickets. Husband desperately needed coffee after his meal but we didn't dare wait for them to come around and ask and then wait for the coffee to arrive. Food was excellent and the restaurant nice, but was, overall, disappointed in the service.
Such a fantastic, welcoming staff. I would go back again in a heartbeat!
Would be a lot better if the noise level was controlled which it isn’t.
Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Best flourless chocolate cake I've ever had too.
We came in right on time and, the maitre’d woman was very disorganized and slow, following the waiters also very slow. We did not get any menus for 30min. Finally we order the food and we had to wait for another 20 to 30min.
The food was good but spicy every each dishes.
Even though they were really busy our waiter made us feel like we were not waiting long at all. Everyone who works there is so nice and lets you know what’s going on and checks in with you. The food is incredible. We just moved to the area and we take our friends and family here whenever we can.
Excellent service! Lobster Ravioli was delicious and so was the lamb! would love to go back!
