We were a party of 5 and we each loved our meal. The wait staff was especially attentive and made my 88 year old Dad feel like he was a guest of honor.

The dish I ordered was totally misrepresented in the description on the menu. It was supposed to be fish in a tomato broth, and O got fish smothered in chopped tomatoes. I do not eat tomato pieces, especially hot. I complained and they brought me a new one, still not in broth. It was covered in sauce.
Awful.

If you want great Italian Food and NOT in Italy.....Il Cortile is the place. Great atmosphere in Little Italy where I actually grow up and if your looking for your Italian Grandmother's or Mother's Food....Il Cortile is where to find it. Benn going there for man many years and is the only place I go to for good Italian means. Great people who take care of you and the service is always great. Also great for Parties I have held several parties there and never had any issues at all and all compliments from people that I take to Il Cortile and go back for more. Number 1 in my book for great Italian Food.

I had a reservation for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend for 9:30 pm. People that had been waiting since 8 pm left after not being seated around the time of my reservation. They tried to herd all of us to the bar. Wanted us to stand & drink until our tables were ready. Very unprofessional, 10 min in we went to La Mela like I knew we should have. La Mela, took care of us.

Very busy for Valentine’s Day- that’s fair!

We had an 8:30 reservation on Valentine's Day. When we arrived, there was a line out the door of people who also had reservations. They had clearly overbooked for the night. I have never seen anything like it before. They had all of us waiting in the back of the restaurant around this tiny bar. When we were told to go back there, I saw at least 50 people already waiting. We waited for about an hour and then left as we had still not been seated. There were people there who had reservations at 7:30 and still hadn't been seated at 9. There was still a line going out of the door when we left. I couldn't even believe they were still lying to people, telling them they would be seated. No apologies, no offer of a complimentary drink for the inconvenience, nothing. Luckily, my boyfriend and I found a great restaurant down the street where we were seated within 10 minutes. I was told Il Cortile had great food and ambiance. It was pretty but I can't say anything about the food as we didn't get to eat. I would never go back to this restaurant because they clearly don't honor reservations. They also displayed a complete lack of professionalism and customer service. Overbooking to this extent shows greed on a level that was completely unacceptable. As it was Valentine's Day, I'm sure the night was ruined for a number of couples. There are tons of great restaurants in Little Italy so try one of those and steer clear of Il Cortile.

They were definitely iverbooked for valentines day. Booked for 830 seated 915. The ambiance, aervice and food were great!

Good place only for non vegetarians. Very limited vegetarian options that are on the menu. They put together some veggie pasta for us which was decent. I wish the experience was easier.

Had an 8:00 reservation and didn’t get seated til after 9 while people with 8:30 and 8:45 reservations had been seated. There was no method to selecting who got seated next unless you confronted them.

Just not good quality food. The decor and ambiance is amazing but it doesn't make the most of the food. There's not one thing good about the food. Tasted very poorly, too much salt, cold...we had the antipasto which was one enough for maybe one person let alone to share....the fettuccini tasted like something out of a can and the lamb osso bucco was just a meal of salt with the mixed vegetables being a sauce of carrot crumbs.....nope theres better restaurants out there. I was shocked we went there on Valentine's Day and it almost ruined the whole night.

Came for an early dinner on Valentine’s Day. Food servers were rude and did not greet or take our order for almost 30 minutes. It was not yet busy. The food was ok and the place itself was actually the best part. Would not return here.

Every time I’m in NYC my first stop is IL Cortile! Angelo is awesome he always remembers me even though I’m only in town twice a year. Excellent ambiance in the Italian expired garden room. The food is fresh, home made pasta and sauces. I highly recommend IL Cortile for an authentic Italian meal where you feel like part of the IL Cortile family!

Every time I’m here it’s always a great experience. The food, staff, drinks are incredible.

Had dinner here with my family. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the NYC. We had a wonderful dinner - drinks, apps and entrees were all delicious and the service was great.

The restaurant is a classic in Little Italy. I have been coming to Il Cortile since 1978, and it has retained its charm throughout the years. The family ownership and long term waitstaff is the key to success.

Dinner was fabulous - everything so savory, the pasta piping hot and fresh...the artichoke appetizer is delicious. And Angelo is the BEST!!! Look forward to going back soon.

I love Il Cortile! The food is amazing and the service and ambiance always puts me in a great mood! I wish the accordion player was there everynight.

Great restaurant within Little Italy. Fabulous recommendation by our hotel. We visited as 2 adults and 4 teenagers, (13, 14, 15 and 16). Food was outstanding, service was too. We would highly recommend it for anyone.

Second time there for our annual girls NYC Holiday trip. Great food and service

They cannot handle their reservations. We had a 7pm Rez for a party of 9. When we walked in at 10 to 7 they asked us to wait a few minutes. We then found out that there were 6 parties of 8 people still waiting!! Their reservations were 6:00. The host was not telling people who walked in with reservations that they were incredibly behind. No apologies, no I am sorry just ride all the way around. Even when I asked for an honest answer he wouldn’t respond. We left, ate next door at Casa Bella, returned and our table was still not ready. DO NOT EAT HERE

Great restaurant!

The ambiance in the restaurant was pretty neat- although we were seated in an area that sort of connected two other larger/ nicer areas. So that was a little disappointing. My food was really good- my mom said her chicken was a little dry. The service was bad. We had a waiter who was non- existent during our meal. Never coming over to check on us. No bread was given to us up front. The person handling filling up the waters was more present throughout the meal and we even had a hard time getting him. They really need to look closely at their wait staff and their attention to their customers. The tip did reflect the bad service.

This is the third time we have had Christmas dinner at Il Cortile. The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding as usual. We were greeted promptly and seated immediately even though we arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation. As usual a very outstanding and enjoyable experience.

Made a reservation two weeks in advance, but when we got there on Christmas Eve they said they had no record of the reservation. I even received a text to confirm the day before...which I did. I’m not sure if it was an Open Table or Il Cortile issue, but they were not very accommodating even after I showed the confirmation.

Total tourist trap. Portion size and taste was non-existent.
The servers and staff were very nice and accommodating.
Tremendous staff. Bad overpriced food.

Arrived and reservations was not found once found told it would be about 1/2 hour wait. Asked to go to bar area. Waited at bar area 15 minutes no services for drink.

The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. So glad we came back for a second time. We will be back soon.
