Il Cielo Gardens Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
I passed this restaurant and was enticed by the outdoor seating. Went back for dinner and was delighted. The setting was quiet and romantic. The food was great and the service was friendly and wonderful. Can't say enough good about this place. If you like to eat outdoors, this is the place!
We finally went to Il Cielo Gardens after passing it a million times, and I'm so glad we did. This little gem is one of the most romantic and beautifully decorated restaurants I have ever been too. The service was impeccable and the food was even better. We will definitely be back again and again.
We were hoping that this restaurant had improved over last year but unfortunately they were out of Grouper and Snapper, local fresh fish. The food we chose, Salmon and Filet were done well, but nothing special. It's too bad because the interior is beautiful. Just too pricey for what you get, including two glasses at the bar which cost $30 including tip.
The food was great, the service was good, and the wine list was extensive; but definitely overpriced for what you get - $12 for 4 small pieces of flatbread, at least $25 for chicken, $15 for tiramisu, and $10 for a small shot of limoncello? There are plenty of great Italian places in LA where you'd spend half the price for the same, if not better, quality food.
The Food was great and the prices were reasonable. The service was also great and we had a fantastic time. The one thing that really bothered us was the idea of the "Romantic" package. For $15 you would get rose petals on your table and a long candle. Now, the idea of the rose petals are great and we don't mind paying for that but the idea of paying for a candle really bothered me (my husband off course didn't care!). I would expect candles on my table at a restaurant like "Il Cielo" and not expect to pay extra. But, we did have a good deal of fun talking about the stupidity of having to pay for a candle at a restaurant known to be a romantic spot.
I had Valentine's reservations for over a month and the waiter forgot about our table. I had to remind him twice that we were still waiting for our food. People around us came and went in the time it took us to get our appetizer. Beyond that they didn't do anything to make up for the error. Just said "oh sorry". I get better customer service at Subway.
I was surprised and disturbed at the restuarant's demand that I forward a written copy of my credit card in order to secure the booking for Valentine's Day. I received multiple emails notifying me of a mandatory 20% tip (for 2) and reminders that beverages were in addition to the prefect menu. I always leave 20% and know that beverages are extra. The decor was as promised, nicely appointed for Valentine's Day. The room was pleasant, well decorated, and everybody was friendly. I had to ask the waiter to light the candle, bring us salt and pepper, and twice ask for bread. The salad was excellent, but the rest of the meal was fair to okay for the price. Not a bad evening, but not a memorable one either for the price paid.
We were a party of 9--91st birthday celebration for my Dad. Table wasn't quite ready for our 5:30 reservation and the order somehow got botched between the server and the kitchen. Appetizers arrived fairly promptly, but there was a 30-45 min gap between the time we finished the salads and the main course. Server initially blamed the persons in our party who wanted the lamb well-done--not professional attitude, and that's not why the pacing was poor. The food itself--very tasty--bronzino and salmon were superb and the lamb was delicious prepared to order. Unfortunately, dinner was somewhat spoiled by the service style and the delays. We have dined here several times before, and this was our worst service experience ever at Il Cielo.
I've eaten at many of the best restaurants around the world including most 3 star restaurants in France. Food here is excellent. And the service here was just so impressively organized. Two attendants watched over all the tables and directed servers... before we realized we needed anything, they had it covered. It was a birthday celebration and the staff was incredible at making it special and understated, as I requested.
Great for a birthday celebration. Lovely ambience on the patio. Tomato soup was delicious. The paillard of chicken with baby tomatoes and arugula
was outstanding. The vegetable ravioli was excellent as well . A beautiful dessert presentation ...The .apple tart with ice cream,.with a stunning silver candle and happy birthday message, was appreciated. Fine attention to detail.,The bar area has been redone and is very attractive. Also, went to a shower held in the large dining room inside, and it was very well executed. We look forward to returning. Charming and elegant.....
