Food and server were excellent!
The bruschetta was tasty but $9 for essentially one long slice of bread with chopped tomatoes and seasonings sprinkled on top. I think the entree prices seem reasonable but the appetizers are a bit overpriced for the size. I liked my entree. The lemon marscapone dessert was good but a bit too sweet for my taste.
We come here every several months and just about always have the same things: red sangria, bruschetta, lasagna, and dessert (and I usually get an order of cookies to take home). The lasagna is about the only place we're found in the United States that makes lasagna the way they do in Italy. Service was a little slow when we went recently, but that was an outlier on service--it's usually fine.
I’ve eaten here many times and usually the service is good. Sat night abt 9, not crowded, took ages for wine to be delivered and fir waitress to take order
Not sure I would go back to lex location. Prefer belmont
We went to Il Casale for a pre-movie dinner. Our reservations were at 5:15pm and we were out in plenty of time for our 7pm show. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. There was a large party in the restaurant at the same time but it did not affect our service at all. It is definitely on our list of places to return to.
Lovely place. Pleasant ambiance. Excellent food preparation.
Excellent meals! Great pasta and seafood. Kid friendly. Fresh ingredients. Lively but not noisy. Definitely have and would return.
A bit loud and not a special Italian menu, was ordinary+
Really delicious food and great service. Made my mother's 85th birthday a very special event.
This was my second visit. One the first one, we enjoyed the meal far more than this time. Otherwise, this time was enjoyable and yes, I'd return. And hope for the first time around to repeat!
Il Casale never disappoints - both in Lexington & Belmont.
Our server Tom P did not inform us on any of the specials. We had to ask for forks to eat our deserts. One member of the group had a side dish of pasta and was not offered grated cheese. The apps, entrees, and deserts where very good. The service left a lot to be desired.
Love the atmosphere and the food was fantastic! Service was great and it makes me feel like I’m in Italy.
I love this place and have been here several times. Service and food are always excellent.
This time, and it’s no fault of the restaurant, I asked for a specific table for two that happened to be situated next to a table for 8. Unfortunately, the conversation between the two of us was overpowered by the noise from the table next to us.
I’ll ask for a different table next time, I will go back.
One of my favorite places.
Our party of four enjoyed an excellent meal. Service was attentive. We were not rushed.
A server we had a few weeks ago came over to say hello and the chef brought us the appetizers which were excellent. Entrees of lasagna and veal were very good.
I'll Casale is becoming a favorite for us.
Good vibe. Server was really nice. And they have Maine Beer Co. “Peeper” on tap. That alone...
We were a party of six- three couples. Special occasion. First time at the LEXINGTON location, several times at the Belmont location.
Service was great. Appetizers were great. Wine (montepulciano d’abbruzo) was excellent. The overall environment was nice. Noise levels were moderate and this was important to us.
4/6 main dishes were very good, but not particularly memorable...The risotto was not to their standard. Both dishes were not touched.
Dessert was excellent, especially ‘CIOCCOLATO DEL VESUVIO’.
Overal, it turned out to be a wonderful evening. Thank you Il Cassale!
Very good service. Excellent menu - recommend the fried artichokes and burrata appetizers, and the lobster risotto and especially the pasta with pesto shrimp very good. Requested quiet table and received it! Not inexpensive but worth it. Have already recommended to others. Nice location in downtown Lexington.
Food was mediocre and not particularly creative. The one cocktail I had was filled to the brim with ice, so it was about 2 sips worth. My parents are from Italy so I guess I have a higher expectation for Italian food. Probably won’t return.
We liked the great variety of small plates, appetizers, Primi and Secondi. Asparagus soup with pistachios and grilled branzino were especially delicious. Because our reservation said it was our anniversary, all the staff wished us a happy anniversary, and they gave us complimentary Prosecco and a small dessert.
We had a very nice meal, but on the way home I asked my granddaughter, age 9, how she would rate the restaurant from 0 to 10 (highest). To my surprise, she gave a score of 8 and for very good reasons. First, she said, she had ordered spaghetti and tomato sauce from the children's menu and was served shell pasta with the sauce. She ate and enjoyed it, but noted the mistake. Her glass of Sprite, she added, had too much ice. With those critical comments, she has a future as a restaurant reviewer.
Excellent food, service, and ambience. Very flexible in accommodating gluten-free dining with delicious and creative options.
It’s always a fun night here but the food was not very good; I ordered the special of shrimp pesto and it was not very good
Amazing service as always. Delicious meal, recommend the bruschetta and burrata appetizers!
I have been to Il Casale Lexington before, but this time is was much better. Our waitress was excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Definitely recommend this restaurant no matter what the occasion is.
My husband and I showed up early and were welcomed. Had a delicious meal with some great recommendations from our server and the bartender. A wonderful date night!
Excellent food - we had the burrata as an appetizer and it was great. My friend and I had the lasagna which is never disappointing. Our waiter, James, was a model of good service. He brought several wine tastes for our friend who is quite particular about his wine. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.
Lovely dinner. Very cozy restaurant
Food and service were very good
The service was good. Parking was easy. The food was excellent and I appreciate the 1/2 or full serving option. That way you can have appetizers and still be overly full. I had the bruschetta and then the shrimp pesto dish. Awesome! I will definitely eat here again and have already recommended it to some friends. It was a very pleasant experience with a very reasonable cost.
Went there on a very, very warm Sunday. Had always wanted to try it and for a last-minute birthday lunch at 3:00 on a Sunday we didn’t have many options. The three of us shared a variety of small plates (meatballs, arancini, grilled octopus, a salad with the grilled peaches, bruschetta, and a small plate of pasta carbonara). All were good. I also had an Aperol spritz that was decent (tryin to keep that April holiday in Rome alive just a little longer in my short-term memory!). For desert, we shared an afogato and a gelato/sherbet cup. Both were good. Most of the staff was having its meal between shifts, but the hostess and our server were plenty attentive. I would definitely return.
Excellent small plates and pasta, great service in comfortable outdoor patio, knowledgable
server suggested a delicious wine and described it perfectly. Great place!
Great service got us in and out right before a show. Excellent food and drink!
Very good. James our waiter was attentive. Did not spill a drop of martini! Will be back!
This was a pre-theater dinner. The veal saltimbocca was delicious. Different presentation with veal medallions. Veal was very tender and cooked perfectly. The shell pasta with braised lamb was also delicious with homemade pasta and tasty red sauce. Our party had arancini cakes (4) and fried calamari for appetizers. These were nice sized portions to share. We shared 2 delicious desserts: the molten chocolate cake and the olive oil lemon cake. The portions are ample dessert portions. We would go to Il Casale again.
had dinner prior to a concert at Cary Hall. Itwas delicious
Unfortunately, I have tried the Lexington location twice now and, really, it's not that great. Not worth the price, anyways. My family and I went on father's day 2018 and they did not have anything specific for the occasion. Not a big deal but something to note.
I had the sole lemon piccata and the sauce was fairly bland. Pair that with a bland white fish, it was a boring $28 lunch entree. Also, I ordered the "beet" salad and there was barely any beets in the salad. Other family members had pasta dishes and they were lack luster. It was $160 lunch (1 beer) for 4 and totally not worth it.
First time at il Casale Lexington. My husband and I arrived early so we sat at the bar ad had a drink and a few appetizers. When we sat down with our friends for dinner, we enjoyed all of the food. My one complaint was the tables where we were seated were very close together and there wasn't a lot of room so this was a pet peeve we all had.
Don’t skip the appetizers - the meatballs & arancini worth a try. The small plates gives you the opportunity to try a few of the delicious entries. First visit but will be back.
Have been here many times, and the most recent visit was particularly good. Fresh tasty salad, well-prepared fish and homemade pasta were all excellent. We sat outside, which was very pleasant. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful.
Deep fried artichokes were a great start. Main courses were poorly plated and looked messy. Saltimboca was overwhelmed by heavy ham and the veal was mediocre.
