Food was very good, but not as good as the prices would indicate. The Maitre d’ greeted us with a scowl. One of the waiters was professional and friendly. Another server was ridiculously snobbish. It was not a pleasant experience which was very disappointing since I had some wonderful dinners there in the past.

This has been a favorite place of mine for over twenty years - it is hard to maintain quality levels for that long, but they have. We have celebrated many a special occasion here and will continue to do so - I hope forever! Great quiet street location, wonderful front porch option in warmer months, gorgeous flowers always, kind staff and fabulous food. I am always so happy to walk in the door, even if I am just stopping by for a drink. Two word summary: warm and wonderful.

We had a request for a table in the "thick of things" and what they had for us was perfect. Everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. First class service and outstanding food. Highly recommended, particularly for a special occasion as it is a memorable dining experience.

The food was delicious. However, despite the great reviews regarding the service, our waiter was awful. He wasn’t kind, he made us feel rushed, & he just seemed bothered overall. Even my grandmother made a comment about the man’s cold demeanor. While the food was absolutely fantastic, the waiter just tainted our entire experience. I would go back - I’d just request to be seated elsewhere.

Restaurant Week Lunch on a Monday. Ordered the Salmon. When delivered to the table; there was a terrible fishy smell like scallops. Very disconcerting! Server said fresh fish was delivered that morning???

My friends and I went there for restaurant week. The service was amazing. The food came quickly and every thing tasted delicious. I had the rigatoni with crumbled sausage and shave Parmesan. I highly recommend this place.

I haven’t been to Il Cantinori in several years although it has always been among my favorite restaurant in NY. We had the loveliest dinner, the food is still superb, the service gracious and attentive without being overbearing and we had a fantastic table. I’ll be back often this year. It was one of the nicest evenings I have had at a restaurant, and my guest was delighted.

I told them I am allergic to tree nuts, pine nuts and any nuts (they did not ask if I had any, I had to tell them!) and they brought cake with some kind of nuts without telling they contain nuts. I had very small bite and realized it had nuts in the cake. I called the server and asked him and he said “oh yes that one has nuts, did you eat them?”. I am not sure what kind of restaurant is this.... they did not apologize, did not refill my water, and fully charged the meal without anything. I was not feeling well so did not had any energy to argue with them that night. But I will not dine here again.

Lovely ambiance, great wait staff, food is very good. They were very nice even though we were there for Restaurant Week, which was a great deal. I willgo back again even when not Restaurant Week.

My party of four had a wonderful dinner. I had not been back in 18years. So Beautiful with all the fresh flowers. Nick was so accommodating when one friend was running late & Fabrizio our waiter could not of been kinder. I’m looking forward to returning very soon

What used to be a great restaurant with great food and service is now an extremely over crowded and noisey Restaurant with the smallest possible portions. On top of that, the service is more attentive at McDonald’s. What used to be a fav restaurant of mine, is now a failing restaurant resting on its laurels. Totally avoid this restaurant on the weekends!!

I come to Il Cantinori every time I visit NYC, usually every January. I usually have several meals there before I leave. it's one of the finest Italian venues I've ever tasted. You always remember me and that makes me feel special...although, I am not that special. Thank you for the multiple meals I've had with you. I'll be back again in january...maybe before.

Heard great things about this place. Paid $28 for a plate of mushy pasta. Rip-off.
