Il Brigante Restaurant
Fabulous food. Great vibe. Staff have us time to chill and decide. The salmon was delish and enough (almost) for two.
Table was tippy but food was amazing
I have been ordering from here and taking people here for dinner for years. I cannot even process the most outrageous experience I had in Il Brigante tonight. We came at 6:00 with a res and got a great table by the window. Was so happy. The waiter got me my fav 1/2 bottle Barolo. My sister and her husband and I ordered two pasta dishes to start and three main course chicken parm.
After waiting a very long time (at least one hour) the waiter brought the pasta and main courses all at once, even though they are first and second courses. My sister's husband, who is Italian, told them that's not how its supposed to come. I've eaten there dozens of times and that's not how its done.
They take it all away, instead of leaving the pasta, and I get up to speak to a mgr, but there wasn't one, its labor day weekend. What appeared to be a waiter told me that bringing it all at once was normal when we all know it wasn't. And he said it with animosity and an intent to argue with me. I was astonished. I said "you know what, I'm just not going to come back here anymore". What happened next is astounding. He pushed me on my shoulder and said "good, get out". At which point I told him DO NOT TOUCH ME - and I went back to the table and told my party we were leaving. My brother in law asked him if he touched me and he lied and said "No, I have a daughter." My brother in law told him to be a gentleman bc clearly he had no idea.
A complete animal and a complete liar.
In my entire life living in NYC I have never, EVER experienced nor heard of such insanity.
I'd love for the owner or actual manager to reach out to me to explain how this situation could even happen.
I’ve been going here here for over 10 years. Food is consistently good, menu options are great, ambiance is very nice. It’s a must for anyone looking for a good quality affordable meal.
The service was fantastic, really went above and beyond
Terrific Restaurant. Beautiful night. Good Food, Great Service.
Nice Sunday lunch with Family. The fried calamari was excellent! Mom enjoyed her individual margerita pizza. Linguini with shrimp and zucchini was light and delicious. My dad and husband enjoyed their pasta with shellfish. Service was excellent. Just steps from Circle Line and Seaport stores.
Very quaint little place with optional outdoor seating (weather permitting) A nice romantic place.
We had a reservation but got there and they had no space for us. Bad experience!
Food is fantastic. Pizza is great!! should have reservations if for dinnertime and expect to wait anyway. It's worth the wait.
it's a favorite of my family.
This was a very cozy and homey restaurant with wonderful staff and delectable food that tasted fresh and very flavorful. The wine selection was also very good. We’re definitely going back to try more of their dishes. Well worth the money.
It took over an hour to receive our dinner. When we said something, we saw them slip the order into the kitchen....they forgot to put our order in. They weren't very nice or accommodating. We left without eating. Disappointed.
I was very glad t0 get an outside table
We had to wait 35 mins despite having reserved.
A little bit over priced for what you get.
We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. We were a bit rushed but the place was very crowded so I guess they needed to turn the tables over but they were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious.
Everything was perfect. We were sat on time! Appetizers of Caprese salad, crispy Shrimp and Calamari.
Margheita pizza and Pasta Bolognese we’re prepared perfectly and delicious.
Nice wine selection.
Ricotta cheese cake to finish it off.
Can’t wait to go back.
My favorite spot for lunch and dinner in the Seaport district. Also close to financial district. Food is always good and service is always warm and friendly.
This place was very cute, a little small, but worth the wait if there is a wait. My husband had the rigatoni with sausage and I had the margherita pizza. Both were delicious! The appetizers were delicious as well. Very fresh calamari and caprese salad.
Lovely, Quaint restaurant with outstanding food. Try the prawn appetizer.. it’s fabulous!
Service was spotty. We waited quite a while once seated for menus, set ups etc. The waiter was attentive. Checkout was easy & quick.
My lamb chops were over cooked I asked for medium rare, they came out medium well. No red center at all. My wife’s salmon was very good.
Definitely high noise level but crowd is young so not inappropriate.
Just love this restaurant! One of the best Italian restaurant in the NYC.
The service charge is not on the menu and it’s high.
Service was a bit slow, but they were quite busy. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the entire experience.
Bruschetta appetizer was yummy. The fresh fettuccine bolognese was delicious, hubby loved the salmon and my son devoured his ravioli. I will definitely return here on our next trip.
It is good location , good food , good service , I hope came back again
Great food, solid service, better pasta selections :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Wonderful Experience! Such a warm and welcoming spot. We were treated very well. Enjoyed the food and Service top notch.
great place! great food ! The waiter was great
However, the waiting for a table is unorganized. I had a reservation and they didn't acknowledge it .
This restaurant is my favorite at the seaport !
I’ve been to I’ll Brigante a few times. It’s a great gem. Nice menu, something for everyone. It’s not s big place but really nice. The portions are generous and the price is right.
It’s unfortunate that the place was super loud and the service was terrible, because the food was fantastic!
Always has been one of our favorite restaurants. We look forward to going back each and every year.
The food was excellent, but the restaurant is very small and loud. We had to move ourselves and our table multiple times in order to allow other diners to get through. A bit frustrating, but everything we ordered was delicious.
The food is terrific, and this is coming from an Italian who also cooks. But the noise level is impossible unless you want to scream at each other across the table. Too bad about that... I would order and get take-out. But the service is lovely, very attentive.
IL Brigante never fails to disappoint. This restaurant is by far one of my favorite Italian Restaurants in Manhattan! This is coming from a resident of 5 years and a former pharmaceutical representative who dined at some of the type Italian restaurants with clients. IL B has outstanding service, exceptional food and a reasonable price. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great experience. The restaurant is good for small groups and date nights. It has a very romantic atmosphere which is cozy and candle lit. Thanks IL B for making our groups nights so special as we celebrated a Birthday for one of my closes friends.
Always has been, and always will be, the best Italian restaurant in the city. A must try for everyone!
My boss & her colleague arrived on time.
The odor was so pungent from disinfectant they left, abruptly.
lovely place, lovely food, lovely staff!
Nice Italian restaurant. The food was great. It's a cozy little place with a seemingly local crowd
I have been here 6-7 times in the past 6 months. It started out great( service) but has become increasingly bad. The food is consistently very good. I don’t think I’ll be back.
The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. I would highly recommend it. The buffalo mozzarella was amazing in the caprese salad and the tiramisu was truly delectable.
