The food and service is always wonderful here. There is vibrant noise depending on the dining crowd, but you can always carry on a conversation without straining your voice. It’s wonderful for intimate dinners, catching up with friends you actually want to talk to,business dinner, etc.
Outstanding food and service and knowledge of the staff!
We have recommended others to try this experience on their own.
We plan to come back to this fine restaurant
The food, service and wine list are excellent! This is an authentic, very cozy Italian restaurant in Davidson. It is on a side street, so people may tend to forget about it sometimes. It is truly a gem and we will return many times!
Wonderful as always.
Food is always top notch. The veal was delicious!
This is our favorite restaurant in the area. The food is always extraordinary and the service excellent. The atmosphere is good for dining with friends. They have not crammed tables together and you can actually have a conversation without yelling. That is so uncommon in restaurants today. I would highly recommend Il Bosco.
Wish the menu had more gluten free options.
The entire dining service was top notch. Our server gave us a five start dining experience. Super friendly, personable and helpful with the dinner selections. The food was perfect. The best Italian restaurant that we went to since moving down here from PA. If you love Italian, this is one place you need to go.
As always, everything was perfect. The food is always incredible.
Always a great meal. Such a wonderful Italian food oasis in NC
Excellent!!!! This restaurant is as good if not better than Italian restaurants in Boston's north end. Originally from Boston.
This was a miss-the-valentines-day-rush dinner for us. I had the Vitello alla Sorrentina and a bowl of the lobster bisque. The bisque was fantastic. The Vitello alla Sorrentina is pan seared veal scaloppini with prosciutto ham, fried eggplant and fresh mozzarella in a tomato white wine sauce. The sauce was light and not over powering. The veal was tender. The combination of the two meats with the eggplant was very nice. My wife had a mixed green salad and a scallop special (see photo). The salad was a nice mixture of greens, not just iceberg. The scallop dish was creative with what I recall was a beet polenta. The scallops were large and not overcooked. Again, a very nice combination of flavors.
The service (Robert) was outstanding.
We will definitely return.
We went for an early Valentines dinner and it was excellent. We each had an appetizer, mussels and calamari. Excellent. A second course a great salad and a fantastic small dish of Bologonase. Excellent. And a main course, duck breast and Veal Sorentina. Excellent. A good bottle of red wine and my wife got a dessert. One of the best restaurants in the greater Charlotte area.
The food os is always fresh, inventive and delicious.
We have been there many times and each time we find something new to try and each time the food and service has been outstanding.
This place is a true hidden gem, and I even heard other customers say that while I was dining. We were greeted by a very friendly bartender and hostess. The bartender held a pleasant conversation with us before we were seated. Once we got to our table, Tarra (not sure of spelling) was our waitress as she eloquently described the specials so well that I barely looked at the menu. I had the veal chop for dinner which was incredible!!! I started with very fresh “touristica” salad, I think it was called. Then had a half order of the fettuccini bolognese for my second course. The fettuccini was obviously fresh made and the sauce was incredible. My wife had the calamari special as an appetizer and the veal on the menu (can’t remember the name) for her entree. The most surprising part of the meal was the desserts, fresh made the white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was AMAZING!!! We did a nice bottle of barolo with dinner and the Italian wine list was pretty impressive. She couldn’t have been happier. Service was impeccable and it made us feel very welcome. It was a little bit of a drive for us to get there but well worth it. We will be regulars after this experience. Thanks for a great meal.
Fantastic dinner as always!! New menu is amazing!! So nice meeting the chef tonight. Delicious!!
Enjoyed my birthday with a very favor full meal and excellent service. Appetizers, salads and Bolognese just right. Great experience for a special day.
Really fine food, with wonderful service, quiet, nice wine list. I wish Fox News were not on the TV in the front area. That’s really unfortunate.
I love Il Bosco but the tv needs to go.
In a word-disappointing...
My cocktail, their version of an old fashioned tasted like straight bar mix with an orange slice and cherry thrown in. An entree special-the pheasant sounded interesting, was my first time there, so thought any restaurant that had a pheasant special would likely have a creative preparation. Not so, took a slice off the thigh and one off the breast, both tough and dry. When waitress came to check on our entrees, explained the situation with the pheasant, she was quick to take it back and offer something else. I tried one of their pasta dishes, disappointing as well, sauce was basically flavorless, an odd shade of red. Will not return.
This is the real deal when it comes to innovate yet traditional Italian!!! Love love love this place. Family owed and operated.
Excellent house made fettuccini and bolognese sauce, meat and cheese plate selection, and French toast cheesecake! Nice Italian wine selection, salads lovely and veal awesome! Service is top notch with a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Great meal, we will definitely go again soon!
Nice evening, leisurely good meal. Will return. 50
Il Bosco was fantastic! The server made great recommendations, food was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent, we enjoyed a lovely dining experience, food was served in a timely manner with just the right amount of time Between courses. I highly recommend the seafood pasta and the shrimp and polenta.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Excellent food and service. Their menu is broad enough to cover a person who has restrictions in their diet and can still leave the restaurant fully satisfied.
Great meal as always!
We were looking for a good quality Italian dinner and experience. We found that, and so much more at Il Bosco. Every aspect of our dinner experience was wonderful. We will consider this one of our go to places from now on.
Excellent food excellent service great wine! Will go more often.
Gnocci was delicious!! Pecan tart was very good, and chocolate ganache was rich and truffle-like. Overall, very good experience!
Il Bosco is a hidden treasure in Davidson. It is authentic Italian cuisine. I have enjoyed every meal I've ever had here.
Excellent, as always!!!!! Quality. Love that it is not loud!!
The best secret in Davidson! From the welcome when we walked in the door to the minute we left, the service was second to none. It was the best meal we both have ever had!!! A+ in every way!!! Can't wait to go back for years to come.
Always a fantastic meal and a lovely dining experience. Truly one of our favorite places to dine!!
It was a fantastic date night! Food was fantastic as always and very reasonable price with an upscale atmosphere. I love it!
Great relaxed meal with hubby prior to Christmas in Davidson. Everything we tasted was delightful and the menu has great variety. Service was phenomenal. Thanks!
My favorite Italian restaurant. Never disappointed.....a perfect evening!
This has been our 4th visit in the last 3 months. Even though the restaurant was completely booked according to Open Table and the hostess, there were empty tables. I asked the owner why there were still open tables and his response was to avoid poor food quality and service. That explains why we have never had a bad meal or poor service. We have had many items on the menu and have yet to find one that was not appealing. My favorite is the pasta with mussels, shrimp and squid.
Food was good. But, service was a bit lacking. It took several minutes after we sat for a server to take our drink orders. My wife’s entree was served about 5 minutes before mine. That should never happen. The overall experience was ok. We were expecting great.
Very good. Food and service were great
Originally from Boston and have frequented the Boston's North End where the Italian food is the very best. This restaurant was as good ... if not better than Boston's North End. Been here in the area for four years now and never tried this restaurant, but that will change. My wife and I will definitely be back to II Bosco.
