Martina our server was great.
Food amount and quality was fabulous, ambiance was great, easy parking and access, reasonable prices. Drinks were fabulous. Definitely a go!!
Terrible service, outstanding food.
Great service , food, and drinks.
Service was outstanding and the food was even better. I can't say enough about the salmon special!
Loved our dinner. Nice table noise level just perfect and would go back Waiter nice and explained all the dishes
Birthday for a good friend!
First time for a business lunch. Excellent!!!!
Always a solid restaurant, excellent food and service
We had an early dinner with friends and their 2 small children. Even though the children are so well mannered and well behaved for their age, small children are never easy for servers. However, the staff was amazing! Patient and accommodating! Thank you!
The food is always delicious but I miss their breadbasket (particularly the crispy flatbread and breadsticks).
Everyone was very welcoming. The server, Laurence (French), was very attentive and got us just what we wanted. The service was just enough! Seems like when we wanted service someone was there, and when we wanted to be left alone, no one interrupted. A PERFECT first experience. It won't be our last visit for sure!
Very good ! Good Italian food in Orange County . I really recommend
I went to the other restaurant off campus and always had a great experience. Tonight I was meeting an old friend for dinner. She had never dined there and I had not been to the new location. Rather than going to North or Davios, we decided to try here. There were only about 3 other tables filled and the service was so poor. The waiter was not friendly and even seemed bothered by serving us. I had an empty glass of wine waiting for him to come back to check on us after we ordered a salad and was standing in the kitchen talking to the other waiters. I had to get up and walk over to ask him for another glass of wine. I was so disappointed and will not be returning or recommending it. There are too many choices in OC. Service should be the top priority & provide your guests with a great experience.
Staff is amazing professional they know all the day Specials in details. The Specials and that it’s family owned makes me want to come back!!
Donatella....You and your staff are amazing....every time I am there I love it, and you, more!!!
Excellent service & food....... ............ ........ ......... ............
As always the food and the service were outstanding. They make you feel like family the minute you walk in.
My husband and I both had the fish specials. Mine was enough to take home for lunch the next day. It was just as good the next day. Outstanding...
I love taking family and clients to Il Barone. They have excellent food and service.
The service is excellent. The food was delicious and the recommended wine was perfect. Always enjoy visiting Il Barone with friends as the atmosphere, service and food are consistently great!
Food & service were acceptable . Atmosphere was a little strange - only 5 tables in restaurant on a Thursday night at 7:30
We loved our waiter Lauren. Great recommendations on everything!
For my Birthday/Fathers day I wanted to get some old school Italian food, and that’s just what was available. High quality freshly made pasta, great beer & wine, Amazing specials like Whole Dover Sole deboned at the table and plenty of fresh black truffles. The cannoli was the best This place was absolutely right on the money. When we walked in we were greeted by the chef/owner’s wife, the chef was present and visible working many parts of the kitchen himself, Great job! Please keep this place amazing!
The porterhouse steak was truly the very best I’ve had.
Italian restaurant with dry aged Steaks.
Bravo Chef thanks for a fabulous dinner
This was our first time dining at Il Barone and we went to see if it would be suitable for our daughter’s graduation dinner. We were seated immediately in a cute corner table and I loved the ambiance and decor of the restaurant.
We ordered a bottle of wine and a flatbread appetizer to share. Both were delicious. The waiter upgraded our wine, which was very sweet. I ordered the oxtail pasta, which was amazing. My husband ordered the grass fed ribeye, which was a special that night. It came to the table rare, and we debated sending it back because more times than not, the kitchen will overcook it instead of making a new steak. We decided to take a chance, but unfortunately the steak came back medium, NOTb medium rare. When we told the waiter, he apologized, but didn’t offer a new steak, nor was the $65 steak taken off our bill.
I really wanted to love the place, but given our experience with the steak, am not sure we will return. After spending $200 for dinner for two, we left disappointed.
Pricy and not enough seafood lots of pasta
Excellent as always. We brought a friend from Northern Virginia, he loved it. He had the special of Branzino.
Food was very good. We had a large group. Service initially was a little spotty but improved. We really like it
Romantic professional staff
The owners presence is very pleasant she makes sure that all tables are happy .
The food is the BEST
You can tell the Chef has allot of passion for his cooking
Food and service is always excellent! One of my “go-to” places!
This is the third time I’ve had a business dinner here. It will always be my first choice. From an intimate dinner with my wife to a dinner with my CEO and our largest customer it is always perfect.
Food was superb and the menu was great
Chicken park was amazing however the waiter persuaded us to order the veal special... he did not say that it was $60 for just the veal and it was not worth it. Very dry, no sauce only a side of arugula( pointless). The service was great and the ambiance was great. For the price we could have gone to Ruth’s Chris or lawrys and gotten soup or salad the main entree and desert for the same price as 1 piece of dry veal.
$40 corking fee 😝
My husband treated our kids and me for Mothers Day and it was fabulous. The hostess as well as our waitress were very professional yet friendly. My daughter is gluten free and our waitress went out of her way to ask the chef to make some gf gnocchi for her and it was excellent. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in the area.
Chef Franco is incredible, the pasta is house made and sauced perfectly. I’ve had a different special fish entree the last two times and both were incredible. Fabulous service and you always feel welcomed.
The food is quite good, but very dependent on the wishes of the chef. Fish is not a regular on the menu, but we were lucky that the chef had two "market" selections, Sole and Branzino available. Four of our party of five was split between the two, but both choices were well prepared and delicious. I wish I had joined them because I ordered the pork chop, and it was less appealing. An enormous piece of meat that was not at all tender. The Pepperkorn sauce was good, but little of that flavor penetrated the meat.
Salads, Soups were ordered and quite good. The waiter was well trained, as he did not offer fresh ground pepper on the soups. To do so is an insult to the chef. All in all a very nice meal with good friends.
The new location for Il Barone is lovely and a huge step up from the old.
The owners have so much passion and pride for what they do
They make you feel so appreciated and Welcoming
The servers are very professional the Special are the highlight must try
Unassuming restaurant in strip mall. The food was very good. Excellent homemade pasta and veal chop.
I would recommend il Barone for its menu, however, individual parties need to take a risk on the service. When it was all booked with various parties, it was very noisy. We did not get any attention from our waitress at all. She cited the specials without passion and disappeared. We waved at her multiple times but she never stopped at our table or looked in our direction until she submitted the bill, which already included 20% gratuity (we were a party of 7).
Our first time at il Barone, but friends had highly recommended it. Their new location - they refurbished an old Coco’s. We went in at 6:00, and they were empty. But by the time we left, they were busy. The atmosphere is the typical ‘American / Italian restaurant’. Not sure is the staff is really Italian, or just pretend to be. Not an issue. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The wait staff was very attentive, until it got busy. Then, they seemed overwhelmed. Thus making the dinner a bit long. I thought that a ‘simple, date night’ should not take over 2 hours. The food was excellent. The portions were a bit small. But, nothing out of the ordinary. I’ll definitively be back. Also, I’m now interested in the other property that they own - Ti Amo.
