We love Il Barone and the food and service are always excellent. Their prices have gone up a bit.
We have been here 3 times and it had been amazing every time!! Highly recommend it!
Fantastic service and delicious food from a very talented creative chef. The menu covers almost all great Italian foods and the wine options are exceptional. We had a great veal chop , salad, and appetizer and wine! 😊🍸

It was our first time here. Had a great dinner. Getting checked in was a little tough. A couple groups walked in front of us. But I’m never in that much of a hurry to cause a scene. For outdoor dining in covid times I’m just happy to be out.
We were celebrating our friend’s 50th birthday and wanted a wonderful meal so I’ll Barone was the perfect place. Due to COVID, we needed to sit outside so the ambiance wasn’t exceptional but the food and service totally made up for that. They also prepared a special dessert for the birthday girl which was so nice.
The waiter clearly forgot to put our main courses in.
Wonderful out door dining Italian Food at its Best
Hoping to support a local restaurant during Covid and understand the challenges/changes they've have to make. But to be seated for outdoors for dinner by a heater that ran out of gas, with no one attempting to switch the tanks is unacceptable. How could they be so ill-prepared? They reseated us next to one of those high torch-y ones that gives off no heat. Service, when we got it was friendly, but spotty. Pizza was the best thing on the menu. A special fish entree was overcooked and basically tasteless. Overpriced and under-delivered. Hope they can rectify their problems. We won't be back, unless it's for pizza to go.
Great! Very accommodating
We were excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately left disappointed. The service was good. However, the food was just okay.
The best item we ordered was the Pear/Burrata Carpaccio Salad, as an appetizer. The Margherita Pizza was decent but lacked flavor and seemed overcooked. Unfortunately, the chicken Parmesan lacked a flavorful sauce, lacked any breading and the chicken was quite tough. The Veal Chop was enormous but was just ok. The bread would be better if it was complimentary and served with olive oil or butter, instead of a green dip. My son ordered pasta with butter and we were charged $22....I understand you don’t have a kids menu but that’s ridiculous.
A neighborhood GEM, friendly, attentive, great service, and the food is always good! You must try the daily fresh fish dishes, pasta, beef, well.. anything you order. The special dishes are exceptional. I'm hungry now. Always a pleasure to dine at Il Barone's, I highly recommend a visit there soon.
The staff did a good job under trying circumstances...thanks Governor Newsom.
Delicious food and attentive service. We had the sole special...outstanding!
Amazing. Everything was amazing. The food, service, ambiance, all amazing.
Awesome! Nice food nice waiters, friendly customer service food quality is to die for !
We waited 45 minutes past our reservation time. They're doing the best they can while being forced outdoors. But they were clearly understaffed. Great food and Donnatella the owner is a delight.
Always an amazing meal! Never disappoints!
Wonderful place There out door patio is so nice you feel as if you are dining in Italy

The owner Donatella truly makes you feel like your dining at her house...

Service was very bad. Our drinks arrived in the middle of our dinner.
My sons ravioli looked and tasted like it came from a can
Amazing good! I felt like I was back in Italy!
Christmas Eve dinner was magnificent!! The staff is so friendly and excellent food and service!!!
We love this place and so happy they have stayed open through the nightmare that is 2020! Excellent service and food!
Amazing restaurant with great staff and superb food
Amazing as always. Love this restaurant
If you like Italian food, you'll love it at il Barone!
Kudos to them for staying open. Wish them all the success.
This was a great neighborhood find. The food and service were great!
In this COVID world you need places to eat and enjoy your date. The food and service is great and it’s clear the owners appreciate every patron. Go enjoy!
Disappointed with the service.
It was a pleasure to sample the chef's specials--the appetizers and salads from which we made our lunch were all simply outstanding. I rarely order off the menu here, because I've heard too many delectable options before I see it. We were very comfortable on the outdoor patio, and felt sufficiently distant from other diners.
Fantastic! best Italian food west of Mulberry Street.
Its just an old world feeling at Il Barone from the food to the service you feel like you are in Italy !
Ambience is nice and staff is friendly. However, this restaurant has room for improvement. It was very confusing how this restaurant doesn’t assign one server to a table; all servers help serve all tables. We were seated without menus and it took many servers walking by to eventually realize we were a new table with no menus. We were asked by multiple people if we needed to order drinks when we already had established that we were not drinking. Yes this is better than being ignored but it would be nice if servers were on the same page. It must be hard to communicate server to server what’s going on with every single table in the restaurant so I understand why there seemed to be this mass confusion between staff. The most annoying part of my experience was that I already knew what I wanted to order but the server kept going on and on about the special and telling me I should get it instead so I went ahead and took his word for it. The meal was just okay; nowhere near how good he had talked it up to being. Chewy texture of fish and zero flavor. I wanted a dish with pasta and this one had none. When we got the bill at the end, I saw that the special was $40 (more expensive than anything else on the menu) and what I was originally wanting to order was $30. I couldn’t help but feel like the only reason I was told to order this item was to make our bill more expensive and the server would get a bigger tip. I absolutely hate when servers do this kind of manipulation. I would have tipped more on a cheaper bill if I would have liked what I ordered and felt like I hadn’t been mislead. My husband got a plain pasta with no meat or anything and it was $24. Seems really steep for just pasta and sauce. Before COVID I was a restaurant manager at a high end restaurant so I am not one to return food to the kitchen/ ask for money off on my bill as I realize everyone is trying to do their best. However, I most likely will not want to come back to this place again.
Just a nice weekday dinner with great food. Being the right season, several truffle dishes were on special. Tried the truffle crepe appetizer. Good stuff. I had lasagna and my wife had the beef carpaccio and soup of the day. Fully satisfying.
The reason for low ratings are: Food overpriced given the portions. Calamari was like shoe leather. Caesar salad had way too much dressing to the point of being slimy. Service was very slow and unattentive. Constant aircraft going overhead was really bad.
Great outdoor or indoor dining.
Love this place...hubby usually does not want to travel more than 15 min away (we live in Sunset Beach) but he was impressed and as a couple , we will be back. I asked my great gal pals to do my BD lunch here too...(another shared) but up to me...I’m there!
Thank you....you are the best!
We love to come here. 8 times in 10 we go for one of the specials and have yet to be let down. Never had less than a great meal here..
