A fabulous Sunday all you can eat brunch. The carmel roll is huge and delicious!
Ike's is great in every way. One of our favorites. We love the atmosphere and the food!
Best happy hour in town. Ribs and chicken satay were really good. Also nice wine selection
Broad menu of high-quality bar food. The food is excellent. The service is top notch and friendly. This is a terrific place for lunch (and dinner).
I haven't been here in a while... and first of all you need to know that I love Ike's. The ambiance alone makes it worth a stop.
I noticed in this past lunch that quality of food is slipping a bit. I had the walleye sandwich, and it was just ok. The bun was semi-stale and hadn't been toasted... and for $16 you should have an amazing sandwich.
This may have been an anomaly (or maybe you should only get red meat here), but it wasn't their best showing.
Food was good, but pricey. A turkey dinner with no bread, salad, veg shouldn’t cost $16. Mashed potatoes need work...pretty flavorless. Stuffing was good but nothing to write home about. Turkey was tender and moist but pretty much cold. Gravy...eh. Wait staff a little cocky, but I didn’t mind that. Tiny chocolate chip cookie was great...but should be bigger or in two’s.
Ike’s was good. The service was great and the food was delicious. But they really need to fix their air conditioning. It was stifling in there. We would have stayed longer because they had some fun drinks, but it was ridiculously hot in there. We had reservations and a concert to get to otherwise we might have just gone to eat somewhere else. It was that hot. The server said it’s always like that in the summer the AC can’t keep up.
So I’d go again, but prob only in the cooler months.
Family style brunch was great! Loved the ham and cheese omelette, hash browns awesome. Waitress was timely as was food. But the A/C wasn’t working and it was close to 90 degrees and humid out. It hadn’t been working for a couple days per the waitress and the boss was coming in later to work on it that day 😞 I was told I could talk with the manager if I wanted to about the A/C; I did not but did feel they could have offered a discount for the poor dining atmosphere.
The Good: Great service (as always). Got us in for a party of 6 which was awesome, server took care of our table.
Not so Good:
Food portions and quality seem to be slipping a bit (burgers), music was WAY TOO LOUD for a business lunch. (energetic....LOL - F'n loud and annoying is more like it)
A/C was out, but they were working on that so not holding that against them...assuming this got fixed
Still a neat place to go, but looking forward to seeing some of the love go back into the product and experience. No longer the gem it was a few years ago......
Food and service were excellent, but it was rather warm in the restaurant. I'm typically someone that is cold in a restaurant, but I was way too warm. Either the air conditioning was not on or there was an issue.
Love the setting and location!! Such a fun place with awesome service!
My chicken sandwich was not cooked all the way—not edible. At least they were quick to comp it from the bill.
There was an error in the online reservation- not a big deal. The staff did a great job making it right (the reservation was made 15 min prior to opening). Service was great. Food is fabulous. I highly recommend the week’s brunch with Bloody Mary!
Great brunch. Wish I had been hungrier to get seconds!
Service was good but food came out cold. Good selection of food and drinks
Great place - love the sage roasted turkey. Servers, bartender and hostess always seem excited to see you and do a great job.
Adding charge of $5.00 for ice in $10.00 drink is OUTRAGEOUS!
We waited 15 minutes for a server to take our order... we were seated right by the hostess station so it was hard to miss that we didn't have anyone taking care of us. We finally asked for one. Really? Food was good, but meats were overseasoned with pepper. I've been to Ike's before, and this was a disappointing visit.
Great food! Friend host and staff. Casual, comfortable and great experience over all! We enjoyed reading all the framed quotes while sipping our drinks😁 My husband says he had one of the best dirty martinis there, and he has had them all over the country, so he should know!
Always terrific food at Ike's. Great place to take friends or business associates for lunch. Atmosphere is casual yet businesslike. Definitely recommend going there to eat.
Always a favorite! You can count on the food being delicious, day or night.
Went for brunch. Great service, always happy with the food.
As a long term, regular traveler to downtown Minneapolis, Ike's had long been my first stop for lunch/dinner. That changed this week. I had a reservation for 6:30, arrived at 6:15. Had no issue with the fact that we didn't get seated until 6:30, that's the time we reserved. However, there was an open booth in the bar area, which we requested when ready to be seated, and we were told by the hostess that it was for four guests. I asked how long to wait to get a booth, and she told me it would be at least an hour and a half, because we would have to wait on the four people that she was holding the booth for to get there, get seated, eat, and then leave. OK, there were four other booths, all seating two guests, but I let it go and took the very crowded, noisy, two top right at the front door. As we were waiting, another couple showed up and said they had a reservation for two at 6:30 as well. Immediately after seating us, they put the couple behind (couple meaning 2 [two] people) in the booth we requested. Needless to say, the hostess flat out lied to my face with a BS story. It took a while for the server to come around, and I ordered a Summit EPA. After another five plus minutes she showed back up to tell me they were out of Summit EPA. Amazingly, this happened three more times, taking almost 20 minutes. After not having the local Summit, they were out of the next craft I requested, then out of Michelob Ultra, then out of Bud Light. I had a diet coke, and was glad they weren't out. After 15 years of dining there 20 to 25 times a year, both alone at the bar and entertaining clients, this was the time I had brought my wife on a personal trip. Needless to say, she didn't let me pick another restaurant the entire trip. In telling the story to the entire bar crowd at the Grand Hotel, the bar tender said they quit recommending it, because these stories were prevalent. Very disappointing, and I'll never go back.
We had a 5:15 reservation. Restaurant was not busy. We ordered very basic burgers. Waiter forget our bar drink. Ordered mayo, mustard, Lettuce and cheese on the burgers. All of the items were missing. Paid $75 for not the best service. I’d say it was a combination of the kitchen and our waiter that messed up.
very busy weekend but staff was working hard to make every one happy. Hamburgers are always the best and chili good too. Also loved the smoked chicken quesadilla!!
Definitely an iconic place to visit. Food was a little more refined/better than the classic/delish diner style food. It was by no means fancy or overwhelming. The Weekender Bloody Mary is great! Large, strong and filling. Really fun place for a laid back group.
The fish and steak were terrific. The meatloaf was dry and flavorless.
We all thought the brunch was overpriced and should have included juice or coffee. Too much waste of the shared food and we were too full to eat more. Expensive for eggs and a roll.
Elderberry martini delicious, homemade guacamole very fresh made at table, however could use some garlic and jalapeños. Very good service!
The downtown location is my favorite. Close to the ballpark and arena. Nice menu, fun specials.
They really went out of their way to make the night special.
We arbitrarily, chose Ike’s for the first time, as it is conveniently located near to the Cowel Center.
Our server was fantastic and very helpful when asked for recommendations. I had the steak sandwich, which was very good. My fiancé, however, chose the breaded fish (I believe walleye) and absolutely LOVED it!
He travels the world teaching at various Universities and, honestly, said that he thought it was the best meal he’d ever had! ( and he’s had A LOT of fabulous meals)
Thank you for the wonderful food and service. We’ll definitely be back!
Always a great choice for dining or drinks! Favorite part...warm choco chip cookies!
Everyone was so phenomenal! We celebrated our 2nd anniversary here for brunch, and everyone was so sweet. The hostess, the manager, and our waiter went out of their way to congratulate us on our day. On top of that: the food was delicious, the service was quick and perfect. The brunch is to die for!
We honestly appreciated every second of our experience here. We'll be coming back again! Thank you all so much!
We just love this place. They do everything right!
Brunch was delicious! What a caramel roll to start off with!
Good overall. The tonic in the G&T lacked carbonization.
The lobster bisque had a strong salmon taste with no hint of lobster meat or flavor.
Cozy neighborhood restaurant hadn’t been in years, glad we returned yummy burgers and delish guacamole and chips.
Great service. I'm a bit disappointed that the Biscuit and Gravy was not available.
