II Samuels Restaurant
Our evening menu changes weekly and is kept relatively small for the purpose of innovation and simplicity. We offer small and large portions of most entrées. All menu items are offered with suggested wine pairings from our wine cellar, which contains over 100 varietals
The selection of delicious food options and the service was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed meal and will be back again soon.
It was good.
II Samuels dinner was excellent! We were seated promptly and had excellent service! Our food was exactly as ordered and tasted Great! The presentation was beautiful. The restaurant was quiet enough that the 4 of us could easily carry on our conversation. I will certainly return!
Good food and service
Great food as always!
Big birthday group. We were able sit in the separate area and had complete privacy!
Great food, fast service, not too loud, an excellent date night choice!
We love 2 Samuels. Probably our #1 restaurant to go to in Spartanburg. It is an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The food is always delicious. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is relaxing. I can’t say enough about this restaurant.
Once we arrived, the wait staff was very attentive without being intrusive, and the food was very good. I enjoyed the crabcakes, and other members of our party liked their dishes, including eggplant parmesan and several varieties of salmon. The Brussel sprouts were delicious!
My only suggestion relates to our arrival. We arrived 5 - 10 minutes early (not late) for our reservation and the table was all ready for us, BUT the water had been poured in the water glasses already, and it was lukewarm.
Why not wait until the party arrives to pour the water? I'm not a fan of frigid ice water, but this water was really warm.
The food was excellent and the customer service was fantastic.
Made reservation for Valentine’s Day. Their web site did not indicate it was a special fixed menu for the evening. Also was fixed price and very small portions. The worse however was valentines gratuity 18-20% was forced on us for party of two. We were unable to make substitutions on side dishes. I was not happy with experience.
Only a few guests. Food was ok but not stellar. Expected a little more at this price point. Overall good but definitely not exceptional. Most likely wouldn’t return without some incentive. Much better food in Greenville, worth the drive in comparison.
Ordered the most expensive item on the menu (prosciutto wrapped fillet) x2 @ $35 each in our party and were very disappointed. Ordered medium rare and mine was light pink with heavy searing and our friend ordered med well and it was pink as well. The prosciutto was wrapping was black and inedible. It actually crumbled to bits when cutting into the steak itself. My wife got the veal spaghetti and the sage and/or rosemary was so overpowering you could not taste the dish itself. We have a habit of not sending food back, especially $70 worth of steak because we do not believe in it and just eat what is served. The waiter was nice and recommended the gumbo special which was the best part of the dinner, and the bread and water came out promptly while we waited, but then a woman and 2-3 loud children came from the back room area, not the entrance, and the children made a lot of noise. I had heard a lot of positive things from other people about this restaurant which is why I gave it a shot, but me and the wife agree this is a restaurant we will not be going back to.
Food was excellent, well-prepared and well-priced. No crowd, great service, open and friendly staff.
An enjoyable evening and a great value by using a Groupon deal. But we visit from time to time without using a Groupon since the food is delicious.
Sorry to say food served cold ask to take back cold twice. Salad tasted like lighter fluid food had no seasoning etc no manager came out waitress apologized we didn’t pay for meal thank goodness our anniversary dinner not so good. Won’t be back!
The service ;person had two circumstances which put us off: she wanted to bring our entrees along with the appetizers and when we ordered drinks. Before the drinks arrived, she asked if we wanted our entrees. We had to tell her several times. She kept returning too frequently to ask how everything was. She interrupted us many times during the evening. My veal and pasta dish was not hot enough and it tasted fine, nothing to write home about. Have been a customer many years and do hope that it continues to be a good restaurant.
A great half price bottle of wine with excellent food make for an enjoyable experience.
Nice place. Our server was really nice. It was a little loud from a wedding party going on, but otherwise nice. Food was great!
Had the special which was flounder with a red wine Demi glaze. Very odd combination. It was ok. Husband had the pork tenderloin. Also ok. Have had better meals there before for sure.
I can recommend II Samuels only because I'm confident that our server will not be working there much longer. The food is consistently well thought out and well prepared. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The noise level is low enough that conversation is easy.
The service is usually very good. Not this time. Our server wrote down the wrong entree for one of our guests, admitted that she had made the mistake, but did absolutely nothing about it. Our friend didn't want to make everyone wait while she put in an order for the correct entree, so he ate what she brought. But no one apologized or tried to make it up to him in any way.
We'll be back because we know that's not the norm for this restaurant, but we will not accept her as our server again.
Never and empty glass, fabulous performer, great food, friendly server. We had a variety of folks in our party of 7 from 36 to 72 and everyone was very pleased with everything. We were a chatty group so may have brought the noise level ourselves but not so much that we didn’t enjoy the music.
Enjoyed the live music provided by Not Even Brothers!
Nice find, great food especially the biscuits and the carrot soufflé. Lindsey, our server, was excellent
Always great food and attentive service. Good wine list and well stocked bar. We never have been disappointed at II Samuels.
Would give another try maybe. The steak frites were tough and not a quality cut of meat. The slaw on the flounder was tough and bitter. The flounder had no seasoning but was good otherwise and portions were large. Could not finish it all.
Great menu selection. Tastefully plates cuisine. Always enjoy my experience.
For an absolutely romantic, beautiful and elegant this is the place for you!!!
Great service. Food was prepared fresh. I will definitely return.
Its been our favorite celebration restaurant since we moved to South Carolina from New Hampshire
Top-notch as always. We started with the seared scallops, then had the prosciutto filet and the veal-meatball bolognese.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I prefer to have a quite meal and able to have a conversation with my wife. This night there was live music and a large party, a wedding rehearsal I'm guessing. The party was not a problem, but the music made it impossible to hear. Next time I'll ask if it's music night before making the reservation. Service was a little slow, but there was a party going on since we were not in a hurry that wasn't a big deal, but the loudness made us want to get out asap
Not right now. We have been to your restaurant many times and our last two experiences have not been at all to our satisfaction. Years ago, last year we had nothing but great experiences.....not the last two times. It will probably be some time before we come back. Just to many restaurants in the Spartanburg / Greenville area that serves our entrees better then room temperature. Bob Beran
II Samuels is a wonderful place to have lunch. The food is high quality and the service outstanding. They have a nice wine selection and guests may sit in the dining room or outside. I highly recommend trying this hidden gem.
Always enjoy our dinners there
Salad had a third of the spinach that should have been composted. Carb Cakes had more bread than crab. Pork was tender but flavorless. Service was great, not so the food.
We ate there to celebrate our anniversary! We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. The live music added just the right touch for a romantic dinner. I definitely would recommend this restaurant!
Service was slow but the food was very good. Menu has a good mix of food. Seafood portofino was great!
Great as always
Great experience for our party of 11. The food was really good and the service was outstanding.
