Food was good but the service was very slow which was a bit surprising given the staff/customer ratio. Liked the setting and music (although I think it was too loud - maybe what they're used to when the dance club portion is open lol). That said, decent value and I would go again.
Great experience! Margaritas and food were great! Will definitely be back!!
Had a great time and would definitely return with friends.
We have been before and got to see Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks again. They were fabulous, playing their music with joy and enthusiasm and outstanding musicallity. There were several pairs of highly skilled dancers who demonstrated their fabulous abilities with style and grace.
I treated my best friend to a day in NYC for her 50th birthday on Sunday March 8. I made reservations for Iguana at 4:15 after Seeing Mean Girls. It was a quiet afternoon in the restaurant and we were greeted enthusiastically and given a great seat! We were very impressed, the restaurant is beautiful. The pretty lights at the dining room entry made for the perfect picture. The drink menu was extensive and so many good options it was hard to choose! We had the Iguana French Margarita first and second was the Coconut Margarita on the rocks! Both awesome! We had the post theatre pre fixe dinner and were pleasantly surprised how much food it was! First of all the appetizers: we each ordered a different choice and shared half, house salad was great with apples and cranberries and the dressing was delicious and the chicken taquitos were good. We had the fajitas as the entree, the steak was cooked perfectly and the chicken was juicy! The rice and beans side plate was a nice amount and delicious also. We chose the fried ice cream for dessert with coffee and it was worth every calorie! So wonderful!
Our server was Isabelle and she was delightful. Funny polite and attentive. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was quiet so we were able to relax and eat slowly and enjoy each course and drinks. We were not rushed. The price for quality and service was a great value in NYC. Would totally recommend to anyone! Great atmosphere, food, drinks and price. What a great end to our day in NYC. Loved our dinner here!
Excellent pre-theater spot. Guac prepared at tableside a particular treat for my 16-year old companion. Very good food, attentive service.
Service was excellent. Food was OK. Atmosphere was fun but very, very loud on a Saturday night.
Wait staff was very attentive and food was served hot & quickly.
Great find in Manhattan
Plenty of delicious food for the reasonable price..great attentive staff.
Good drinks!
Nice environment and drinks and food were very good. Very good customer service.
Great and small but strong margaritas!!! Loved our server!!
They overcharged my credit card for $56.00, this is unacceptable.
I met my friend for after work dinner. I don't drink but they made a fantastic virgin mojito. The guac was SO good and extra spicy just like I requested it. The service was very good, waitstaff was very kind. For the location price was decent.
The food was wonderful it just took too long for the food to come to table. We did not mind this because we had drinks and were enjoying each other’s company. The club upstairs was fun a lot of fun and had a nice playlist.
We had a great time at Iguana. I had the special valentine menu and the food tasted good and was a good portion. My husband ordered the filet mignon and it came out overcooked but they quickly bought him another. It was pretty good considering it is a Mexican restaurant not a steakhouse. We then got a code to be able to go upstairs for free because they were charging $15pp. Upstairs the music was good, we danced a lot, the bartenders were nice and we had fun. Of course be prepared - the drinks are $16 each which I believe is typically for NYC. We did have a great time.
Our waitress Nancy was so friendly and nice. She gave us honest reviews of certain dishes and made some good suggestions. When we told her that this date was us coming back to the place my husband and I first met a couple years ago, she was genuinely excited and asked the manager to give us a round of shots on the house, which was nice! The food was good and the service was great. I prefer the dinner food over the brunch food here.
Great lively atmosphere and fabulous food. The avocado made at the table was a bonus!!!
Friend from LA visiting. Picked Iguana for the two dance floors. We shared appetizers which were good. We’re ballroom dancers so motivation was dancing. The music is excellent with Latin upstairs and Top 40, reggae, disco etc in below.
Had a great time!
My wife and I truly enjoyed seeing and hearing Vince Giordano and His Nighthawks Orchestra at the Iguana on January 20 and 21, 2020. Seeing the Nighthawks perform was the reason we traveled 200+ miles to visit the Iguana. I am not really a Tex-Mex fan, so I ordered non-Tex-Mex offerings (steak and salmon on different nights). My wife did indulge in Tex-Mex offerings. The food was tasty. We have only two negative comments: (1) the second floor where Vince Giordano and His Nighthawks play smells musty, like mildew. Restaurant managemen should explore what is causing this odor as it could indicate pernicious mold growth; (2) our waiter gave our table of four one check without inquiring whether we were separate couples (we were!). He was unable to split the check, so we had to work out payment with the other couple ourselves.
Went to see the Vince Giordano show which was fun. Surprisingly, the food was good
The food was awesome ! The staff was friendly and courteous. It was a bit noisy but other than that it was a nice experience. Lovely place, lower and upper levels are the places to party and get down. The drinks at the club are pricey. It was my birthday weekend and celebrated it with my closest friends. Everybody had a good time. I definitely want to experience it again.
Huge fun. Very friendly place with delicious food.
Overall nice dining experience. Great fresh made guacamole, crispy yet tender calamari and the margaritas packed a good punch.
I used to come here for happy hour, which I'm sure is still fine, but today's lunch was HORRIBLE. There were only 3 tables of people total and the service took over 35 minutes for someone to take our order. Then it took another half hour for it to arrive and it tasted terrible! I got the steak tacos al carbon and it was lacking everything. They basically cut up a steak and wrapped it up in a flour tortilla shell. No flavoring whatsoever. I should've just ordered a steak. Very disappointed and will NEVER return for food.
Our reservation was honored.
The food was perfect.
The service was efficient.
No complaints
Loved the ambiance which is very important to me. The Rioja Marquis wine was excellent. My pastel shrimp was delicious as was desert couldn’t linger as was heading for the theater.
Everything was great.
Only issue, Turns into a nightclub and cover charge is waived if you were eating dinner (must have an entree).
Myself and 2 other guests had a $275 bill of drinks and appetizers and that doesn’t warrant entry.
The food was amazing, but the service was horrible. Total service time was 3 hours. The waitresses were nice but that did not make up for the time delay.
It was my Birthday dinner
6pm reservation for 6. The restaurant had only a few tables seated. While the waitress took our appetizer order fairly quickly, we had to repeatedly ask for her to come back and take our dinner order. It was 6:40 before she even took the order. We then waited another 30 minutes for a plate of nachos, 2 plates of tacos and 2 salads. The place was empty, so the long wait times was inexplicable. Then, to add insult to injury, the waitress added a 20% tip and never mentioned it, and then brought the credit card receipt with the obvious tip line blank- in other words, if we hadn’t carefully audited the check, we would have double tipped. It was a sleazy end to a night of truly awful service.
Too expensive for appetizers and shots at $15.00 dollars insane Tavern on the Green it’s a better choice.
This restaurant shows well and was very quiet when we went at 3:30. The waiters were quite pleasant and actually gave us 2 complimentary apps and as well as a dessert. The "basket" of chips was way too small, though they did keep asking us if we wanted more. As for the food, it was just average at best. The chicken tacos were simply rolled up (at first for tacos for me) tortillas with chicken inside--that's it, though there was guac, queso sauce and pico on the plate. I could have done that at home! The enchiladas were better, though not the best I've ever had. As for the desserts and apps, not much flavor. It was not what we were expecting, which was much more authentic Mexican food. All in all, I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars and would not hesitate to go there if it were for drinks and guac--which we did not order but was prepared fresh table side and looked amazing and must have tasted amazing too since they ordered a second batch!
Extremely loud patrons. Food excellent. Good to go with a group.
Amazing food, highly recommend the coconut margarita. Had a great time with my family and the staff was very attentive. Highly recommend
Loved guacamole made and club scene. We didnt see online that there was no happy hour for the month of December. I brought a group of 10 people expecting happy hour.
Ambience is great. Very nicely decorated space. Food is always delicious. Our server was very sweet. One of our favorite spots.
Food and drink were outstanding (love their Corn chowder soup and margaritas!)
Service was great.
We go to see Joe Giordano and the Nighthawks. They're great as always. The food is "OK" and it's a bit of a zoo, but a terrific night out for friends to get together.
