We went to Iguanas on a Saturday night just before a show. We had reservations so there was no wait time and the restaurant looked busy. The ambiance is very intimate, low lighting and Latin style decor. The service was good during dinner, again keeping in mind that they were busy. During dinner the wait time for drinks, appetizers and entree was reasonable. the complimentary chips and salsa are not special, kinda like Applebees, but they are free (I think). Service was friendly. My wife had the steak stacked enchilada and I had the shrimp scampi. Both were tasty, and the steak enchilada was nice and cheesy. Good size portion. They have 3 course fixed menus that you can choose from or do al a carte. We made it to our show and then returned to Iguana for drinks, this is where service lost some stars. Bartenders did not seem experienced and were inattentive. That can't happen in a midtown Manhattan bar. The mixed drinks were prepared with an unbalanced ratio. The crowd is very nice. Mostly happy hour crowd or folks grabbing dinner and drinks before a show like us.
Food, service, music everything was perfect! We had a blast.
Fair prices. Enough food to leave you statisfied, and it was BANGIN too!
My friends and I had a wonderful dinner at Iguana on a Monday. night, upstairs where the Nighthawks perform. I ordered fish tacos and a delicious house salad. The service was attentive but not intrusive throughout the dinner.
we went there to see vince giordano and the night hawks,,,but ate dinner first. the food was very ho-hum, but the serv9ce was good and the band was great!
Love Iguana! Always have a great time! I've been for dinner with friends, a night out with the girls, brunch before a show and every time they've never disappointed.
Iguana is very over-rated. It's noisy, food was lukewarm and bland, and we were very disappointed. Service was mediocre - we had to keep asking for water, drinks. Most surprising was the dessert menu - it had no prices! When we asked the waitress what things cost, she seemed uncertain and had to get someone else to assist. The next person said all desserts cost the same thing - $10. Perhaps they tell another table something else? We will not go back.
Amazing! Authentic and beautiful atmosphere with lights. It was a big place and had a lot of large tables great for big groups. Margs had 28 flavors and only 6 during happy hour. Really fast service.
I thought it was a bit pricey but great overall. I don’t have fir 50 characters or more
Does not live up to the area. Get wit it, Iguana@!
I recommend the seafood! The house salad is also a good one.
The service was very good and accommodating good drinks n music
I liked the restaurant. The food was good, the drinks were delucious. But once we were seated, we had no water and 3 service people came by asking if we wanted water and yet we did not get water for 6 minutes. That's not good. So that is service, plain and simple.
Drinks and service were great! Chips, salsa & guacamole are excellent! Food was tasty but served lukewarm and table was not all served at once. Perhaps a bit of an off night for Iguana.
The entire staff is very friendly and professional. The food was very good. Live mariachi music. Good experience. Both the black bean soup and roasted corn chowder were very tasty and the delicious guacamole was fresh made table side. The salmon tequila special was also good as were the fish tacos. Highly recommend.
Great happy hour! Fun ambiance...a noisy place, great for a party atmosphere.
Table booked for New years eve. Food was great, cocktails good and waiter's attentive. Would certainly go again
The evening started out very promising with a busy bar scene, great ambience and twinkling holiday lights. By the time we sat down with our party of 4, I was feeling a bit happy after 1 margarita. The guacamole was made table side and was arguably the best part of the meal for me. 2 of us ordered the beef fajitas from the price fixe menu - they were quite tasteless and the meat was tough. The onions and peppers were not cooked much and with no carmelization, which to me adds good flavor. We were very disappointed.
As we were seeing a show at Studio 54 next door, it was quite convenient and the main reason why we chose this restaurant. Too bad the quality of the fajitas didn’t live up to the other dishes at our table. I really wanted to like it. To be fair, my husband enjoyed his pork, although a bit dry, and my cousin enjoyed her filet mignon. He really enjoyed the chili appetizer and the desserts were pretty good.
The waitress never came by to check on whether we were enjoying our meal and by that point we were just looking for the check. If you can’t get fajitas right, what’s the point of having it on the menu? Exit, stage right!
Service was slow, food was ridiculously overpriced and was not allowed into the dance club despite what was advertised
The food was excellent. My friend and I got out early from the John Leguizamo show and we appreciated being seated earlier than our reservation. In hindsight I wished I would have asked to be seated away from the large party celebrating a birthday but all in all my best friend and I both enjoyed the food and excellent service. I will definitely recommend it to my friends
Other than the restaurant was FREEZING, I shouldn’t have waited 15 years to go back.
Having been placed on a table of 6 next to the kitchen door (there were 4 of us), we had to almost shout to each other over the noise. It took 3 waiters to eventually take our order and the one that did, had a go at another member of staff in front of us for giving us water. When the food arrived, the chicken was warm at best and the fajitas just tasted bland. It was extremely over-priced and so I wouldn’t recommend it. A real shame as it was meant to be a special occasion being our last night in NY.
Really loved the place. I loved how it was decorated. Very very friendly staff and great service. They are busy of course as we went during holidays season but attentive. Everything is pricey in NYC but for the price it was pretty good. I wasn't crazy about my burrito as they put the rice and beans inside instead of on the side and it seemed like that was all it was filled with but my kid got the filet which was cooked perfectly and the chicken nachos are amazing!
Great restaurant! Friendly, attentive staff. Great food, fresh, delicious and authentic. Went before going to a play. Service was quick without feeling rushed. Definitely worth a try.
Food was delicious. Fresh guacamole was amazing! Will definitely go back.
great customer service my friend was not happy with sangria taste and host graciously changed it to a mojito
Food is delicious. Staff is very friendly and professional. Music upstairs is overall great. Great place to get your drink and dance on.
It was a great experience. The food was very good. Being able to go downstairs and dance off the calories is a nice touch.
We were seated at a large table in the back corner. It was still a bit loud but manageable. Food was very good - black bean soup was not as good as it has been in the past. It was watery and lacked the usual rich taste. The enchiladas and taquitos were amazing.
