About Ida Claire
Ida Claire is a funky, southern influenced restaurant & bar. The food is notched up southern but has influences from different regions. You’ll most likely see dishes you’ve heard of before but with little twists here and there. Our sandwiches will be served on biscuits & we’ll have chicken & waffles on every menu. Brunch is obviously southern & will be a big part of what we do. The drinks are takes on classics like the Mint Julep but revved up & including a lot of house made ingredients. We’ll have several different house bitters & a house gin. The décor has a southern influence with antebellum charm & elegant polish, stated most clearly in our reworked air stream trailer parked in the garden for VIP reservations. The whole restaurant will feel like a quirky southern aristocrat’s home…just not exactly what you might think.

We have vinyl hour during the week from 4pm to 6pm and then again from 10pm to 11pm. Come listen to some old school and new while your bartender makes you a $5 julep or pours a punch bowl for you and friends.
We have parking behind the restaurant, which you can access off of Quorum or Belt Line. We also have complimentary valet on the weekend, so pull right up to the front door!

It would be severely detrimental to my health if I lived closer than 4 hours from Ida Claire. Fabulous food. Incredible bloody Marys. I could live off the crawfish beignets. I’ve not had anything that wasn’t excellent on my few visits there. It’s a must when my family and I are in the metroplex!
Good concept. Great food. They need to work on execution. Asked for a quiet booth. This isn’t a quiet place. I get that, but with an empty restaurant they put two small children right next to us, who proceeded to yell and jump up and down in the booth. Server kept saying “No problem,” the worst of the server replies; also, server spent an eternity chatting up another table of single women and neglecting that my wine glass was empty on a $120 tab. Also, I ordered the blackened trout. Server asked how I would like it prepared. Umm, blackened? What he was asking was for doneness.
Great place to take a date. We had a great time and love the food and atmosphere. My only negative would be the portion size of their homemade cocktails. You don’t really get much for the price you pay but they were pretty tasty. I wouldn’t discourage you trying one of their drinks just know they won’t be very big.
We had a great dinner and visit prior to our book club meeting. Food was great and in keeping with the atmosphere of the book we read. We all enjoyed the venue, Bar Bites for Happy Hour and reduced prices for drinks before 6. Upscale versions of our old favorite Comfort foods!
Totally enjoyed this restaurant. I was in Dallas from New York City and met an old friend. Wonderful food and the service was great. I started with the Blalock cocktail (their version of the old-fashioned) that was mixed to perfection. Our meal started with the Crawfish Corn Beignets with smoked mustard remoulade - to die for!! Entrees were the fried chicken and the grilled Halibut with roasted turnips - both were perfect. The Arugula salad with sun chokes was super tasty and great as a light side. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Fantastic Southern comfort fare. The biscuits and bacon gravy were too good, as was the fried green tomatoes. Great attentive and friendly service. Only critique I would say is both our dishes could have been more piping hot, the dishes were both flavorful shrimp & grits and trout, but a bit on the lukewarm side. Still solid cuisine.
I organized a lunch at Ida Claire for a group following a museum visit. It is a gem! The waitstaff is professional, friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. There were interesting twists on southern food and the choices we made were excellent. We loved being seated in the airstream with its fun and funky decor. The outdoor garden is really nice and the indoor scene looked really fun too. I look forward to returning!
This was my 3rd visit to Ida Claire and they are 3/3 in terms of experience and quality of food. I have tried 3 different dishes from 3 different sections of the menu and I have been satisfied each time. I am biased because of my time spent in the south and experiencing the food that's made down there - their dishes are southern inspired with a modern twist. In addition to the quality of the food, they have some of the nicest servers around town! It can get a little loud at lunch time, but my 1 visit in the evening was pleasant.
If you are reading this, do not hesitate to make a reservation!
Hostess greeted us promptly. We were seated right away (I had made a reservation). Server greeted us quickly. The mimosas were delicious; not your run of the mill brunch mimosa special. The food looked and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend Ida Claire.
Was a girls night out, was my first time trying this resurant. Loved the service, didn’t drink. I was designate driver. The girls had fruity drinks, our waitress was amazing, she changed the drinks because the girls were being picky. Lol. Brittany was our server, she is awesome.
We loved it. Our server was THE best. One in our group asked the one item she would never order and she totally put a spin on it to still make it a positive. One person asked the one items she always orders and I gave her two items and asked which she would choose. She was attentive with refills and just a pleasant person.
We happened upon Ida Claire because we were staying at the InertContinental Hotel and they recommended the Time Machine - we walked in and promptly out of the Time Machine and next door to Ida Claire ... YAY ... we had a large group but we were seated within about 30 minutes and the great drinks from the bar made the wait not so bad ... Joshua was our waiter and very knowledgeable and beyond patient with our slightly rambunctious group ... the decor and ambiance is great food is great (some portions too large, others I'd prefer more ...) but all in all it was a great place!

Fried Green Tomatoes different batter, more like Tempura but very good
Pimento dip - served hot (I'm used to cold) but loved - need to order a second round of chips to go with
Hot (Spicy) chicken ... loved the crust/flavor meat was moist ... menu says half a chicken but that might be a bit misleading, really more like a breast and a drumstick (but I couldn't finish it anyway) I get the tradition of putting bread on a slice of white bread, they change it up and put it on brioche with pimento spread - interesting but didn't really need it and I would have preferred one of their amazing looking sides instead
Shrimp and grits - this one was just "okay to good" smaller portion than expected, and the grits were a bit "loose" for lack of a better description
Chicken and Waffles - 4 people at the table got them - mixed reviews but mostly good
And for the life of me I can't remember the name of the cake - the descriptor doesn't make it sound very appealing ... but if you like rich chocolate cake with a hint of coffee in the flavor go for it ...
And ALL of our cocktails were amazing ... especially the Moscow mule with the candied ginger !
But our "friend" Joshua (started out as a waiter left as friends) did a great job and put up with a lot from our group ... always with a smile or a fun quip/retort - thanks again
