Our sandwiches will be served on biscuits & we’ll have chicken & waffles on every menu. Brunch is obviously southern & will be a big part of what we do. The drinks are takes on classics like the Mint Julep but revved up & including a lot of house made ingredients.
The décor has a southern influence with antebellum charm & elegant polish, stated most clearly in our reworked air stream trailer parked in the garden for VIP reservations. The whole restaurant will feel like a quirky southern aristocrat’s home…just not exactly what you might think.
Ida Claire was awesome for Sunday Brunch. Festive drinks and the Shrimp and Grits completely slayed my crave. Green fried tomatoes were very good - except any good Southern knows you are supposed to use corn meal not flour! And the chocolate ganache cake was out of this world - moist, wonderful butter cream with a ganache outside. Definitely on my list! Negative is it’s too loud - they need some sound proofing.
Thank you so much! So happy your enjoyed everything. Apologies about the noise level. it can get load when we are packed.
First time to visit. Was unprepared for the noise level in the restaurant. Very difficult to enjoy a conversation with my dining partner without yelling. Food was OK, but nothing special at all. I was disappointed that the crab and corn "beignets" were over-fried cornmeal hush puppies. Shrimp and grits were good with very cheesy grits and grilled shrimp. My dining partner enjoyed the Monte Cristo sandwich, but the chips accompanying the sandwich were cold, chewy and unflavorful--basically inedible. Our server, Adrian, did a nice job but was very overworked with LOTS of tables. It seemed quite apparent that the restaurant was short-staffed. Been there, done that......
Extraordinary customer service and ambience!! I love it!!
Our server was great and I LOVE this place, but they don’t handle their busy times very well (we were there for two hours due to how long our orders took to process and we didn’t order much between the two of us)
They don't manage their reservations well. And they don't care much for this so if this is key for you I wouldn't recommend a visit. Other than that, the food is really good and the service is good once you get to sit. I had to wait for more than 40 minutes even with a confirmed reservation. When taking to the hostess about it she didn't even apologize and said this is "normal" there.
Made a reservation for 7:45. When we got there, we were told it would be about 15 minutes before we got our table. At 8 PM, we were once again told it would be about 15 minutes before we got a table. At 8:25, we finally got out table.
To apologize for the delay, we were given a free appetizer and was offered free drinks (which we turned down as I am off of alcohol for a while). The appetizer was the pimento cheese and sweet potato chips - which were very good.
I asked the waiter his suggestion on my choice and he said to get the Nashville Hot Chicken. (I LOVE Nashville Hot Chicken). When it came out, it looked great, but it was super super mild (think regular KFC) and after I ate half of it, I got a really bad stomach ache that lasted for about 3 hours.
However, my date got the Monte Cristo sandwich and loved it.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. I will probably never return.
The food is always solid at Ida Claire, and I love the happy hour deals. Will definitely be back.
Fun evening. Food was good but over-prepared. Fresh carrots with the meal would have been better without all the cheese and butter. Grits also had too much seasoning and were too thick. Chicken and waffles were amazing. Chocolate stout cake was a winner!
Ordered the chicken salad sandwich. While the salad was okay, there were so many onions, green tomatoes, and lettuce, along with tons of dressing it was a mess to eat. Ended up eating with a fork. Won’t order it again.
Our waitress was great.
Pork chop waaay over cooked. The side with the pork chop was warm. Second server (our original server was leaving) never checked on us and was aware that I wanted to place an order to go. When I flagged him down he was not pleasant and the take away order had a fresh side yet the fish was Luke warm, if that. When I informed the server he said oh, okay. He didn’t apologize or ask if I wanted a fresh take away.
Of course I spoke with the manager. The second server attempted to interrupt to make excuses, yet ultimately acknowledged that what I was sharing was accurate.
The vice cake was delicious.
Food was great. We loved what we ordered. Service from hostess and server was very lackluster. We felt like we were bothering staff.
this was my second visit and I love it! Shared apps and drank wine!
Great service Great food. Not rushed. It is a great place for a date. We really appreciated the many options to choose from on the menu. Looking forward to our next visit.
Great food & great time in the airstream with mimosas for brunch.
This was third time dining there and was disappointed this time. Ordered “Country Breakfast”. The potatoes were inedible and I had to send my over medium eggs back because they were stone cold.. the biscuits were not warm but edible. The coffee was delicious as usual. Not worth the $$$
It was a great experience and the service was superb!
My daughter & I were in town for the night. We were excited to eat at a Southern-themed restaurant, and the food did not disappoint.
Danielle was our server. My daughter & I both enjoyed Danielle's energy & hospitality.
We LOVED the herbed Brussels sprouts!
We had the Crawfish Corn Beignets - I thought they packed a great deal of taste in a small package. My daughter doesn't like mustard in general, but said that she enjoyed the beignets & even had some of the remoulade on the second one she ate.
My daughter meant to order the Frisee and Egg Salad, but accidentally ordered the Egg Salad Sandwich. She said she was glad she made the mistake, as she thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich.
I had the Shrimp & Grits - the only place where I've had better Shrimp & Grits was in Charleston & Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The shrimp were cooked properly and the grits were the right consistency.
Next time I am up in Addison, I'll be stopping by Ida Claire's again!
I have been before but was disappointed this time. We went for Valentines day and went with the special. We ordered drinks and they were good. The included wine was not one of the menu wines but rather a $10 bottle of wine and not wonderful at all. We received our appetizer and then our salad in a timely manner...not too soon or too late. The main course came when we were half way through the salad. We told them it was too soon and they should remake once we were ready. I am pretty sure it was left under the heat lamp. When we received it, my steak (asked for it medium) was medium well and had a burnt char taste to it. My wife had to send her pasta back as it was all clumped together and raw in some places. The desert was good.
My wife of 40 years and I took advantage of the Valentine's Day menu which was amazingly delicious and an incredible value. Our server, Danielle, was amazing as well and we told her manager, Melissa, so. Danielle was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable of the menu, attentive and down right bubbly. While the ambience, energy and food were amazing, they could have all been spoiled by a lame waitperson. On the contrary, Danielle was the catalyst that began a wonderful dining experience and was the proverbial "cherry on top". We have been to Ida Claire before and we will be back. Ida Claire could very easily be one of our favorite places in north Dallas to meet friends. It was definitely worth the drive from Waxahachie. Thanks Ida Claire for putting the "love" in Valentine's Day!
We all loved our food...hamburger with pimiento cheese. Our fantastic waitress also complimentary provided us with a plate of the yummy biscuits and spreads that we thoroughly enjoyed. I don't remember the waitresses name but she was very friendly and informative.
Very good flavorful food. My boyfriend wanted to order another plate to go.
Food and service were outstanding. They were busy yet everything came out reasonably quickly, and you can taste the freshness. Our server, Ryan, was great. He had several tables yet was very attentive, our drinks were never empty and he checked on us throughout our meal.
Had an amazing time at Ida Claire! The ambiance was perfect for our valentines date! We highly recommend the server Alex!
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed everything.
Had a great friends dinner for Valentine’s at Ida Claire! Have been to their sister location Whiskey Cake, which I love, but I might like this one even better. Great food in the updated southern comfort category, fun style and ambience in the restaurant, and great service from our waiter Brittany! The fried green tomatoes were good, the sorghum vinaigrette sounded weird but was surprisingly good, and the steak dinner was awesome. Also had the grits, highly recommend if you like cheesy grits! Would love to go back for their brunch sometime in the future.
Thank you so much! So happy you came here for Valentine's Day! Can't wait to have you back in.
It is where I took the love of my life for our first date, it’s now a staple in our relationship. This place is more than just a restaurant to us.
OMG! This makes me so happy. Thank you so much! I am so happy your and your love come here. Can't wait to see you two again.
Food and atmosphere are fantastic. Service was s little slow, but the place was packed.
Great location and fun experience. We will be back.
Excellent place for date night
We went for Valentines Day fir their special dinner.. it was a great deal.. from the appetizer to the dessert was delicious..
we will definitely be going back again!!
It was delicious food and great service.
We will return.
I has been and I wanted to enjoy Valentines dinner early and we’re excited to try this new place. We ordered a couple of appetizers which were great, but my main entrée was cold. I sent it back and re-ordered the same item which came to our table cold again. The chef did come out and apologize, but I don’t think it should’ve came out cold the second time. They should’ve ensured that the food was at the correct temperature before serving to guest.
Food was fantastic and our waitress Shelby took great care of us.
Thank you ! Shelby is wonderful :)
We had a team dinner here and had just the best time! Such great service and great food!
Thank you so much!
What a FUN Place---with Great Food---Very good waitstaff----you will have a to go box when you leave!!!
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it.
Love the appetizers
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it.
Thank you so much!
Love this restaurant! Always consistent, quality food! Yesterday, I had the smoked chicken salad sandwich and it was superb.
It was nice, but we were waiting for the food for more than an hour. It was very crowded and loud.
Food was very good.
I am so sorry for that wait. So happy you enjoyed the food.
Even with a reservation that we arrived on time for, it took another 15 minutes for our table to be ready, another 15 minutes to get our order in. It was over an hour after we were seated before we got it food. The food was amazing, but I feel like you’d have to make sure your afternoon schedule is clear if you want to get a full experience e
Thank you very much! It can get tricky when we are busy to judge how long tables will sit. My apologies for the 15 minute when you had a reservation. Can't wait to have you in again.
Great Southern food with fun cocktails and great atmosphere
Thank you so much!
