Christmas Wreath Salad and Candy Cane Cake - delicious! A friend and I go to the Icon every year for this Christmas lunch, followed by a movie. Always a very fun day.
Love the Icon... hoping when their lease is up they find a new location! Tater tots and mac and cheese bites are fabulous.
We were seated 20 min after our reservation. The hostess was scattered an rude. It look over an hour to get our food and about 2 hrs to eat, with kids. Our sever was nice but I think he forgot to put in our good order because everyone around us that got there after us received their food before us.
Wonderful dinner. Jackie our server was excellent. Fantastic drinks and dinner!!!! We're sad that you're moving, but excited to dine at your new location!!!!!
The restaurant is warm and cozy. The service was excellent. I had halibut, it was very disappointing. Completely over cooked dry with no taste. Unfortunately not a good way to end such a special day.
We had an enjoyable leisurely lunch at Icon Grill. The food was good however I don't like getting my soup served in an actual mug. A lot of the soup falls off the spoon before you get it out of the mug. Also the shrimp in my taco were overlooked and dry. Not my favorite meal from there, but I've had good food on other occasions.
Went for Christmas Season dinner. Great decorations, good food, great desserts.
Crab cake Benedict for breakfast tasted very fishy. Enjoyed the live Christmas music and the kids in the restaurant enjoyed the visit from Santa.
We very much enjoyed everything. Thank you.
Great food and ambiance. They started playing piano about 6pm as background noise was very nice. The food was excellent and loved the holiday cookie decorating kit as dessert!! We will definitely go back!!
Other than a horrible hostess the service, food and ambience were excellent as always. The live piano is also a welcome addition the fabulous Christmas atmosphere.
It was really great, sorry to hear that their location is being tore down. Hope to find them when we return.
We had the Bleu Cheese Tenderloin Medallions - my daughter's were fine: mine were so badly chared that I could not eat them. They did take my meal off the bill, which I feel was fair, but still meant that I did not have dinner. The atmosphere was great and I might go back for that, but not for the food. If it is good food you want, look elsewhere!
The food was mediocre considering the price. The best part about this restaurant is the ambiance, I don't think I will go there again but I will recommend it to a friend.
Always a treat. Icon Grill magically combines elegance with comfort and the setting is a feast for the eyes. Food and cocktails were out of this world. I have lived in Seattle for 10 years and Icon never disappoints.
My ABSOLUTE favorite restaurant in downtown! It is beautiful and a lot of fun!
Best part of the evening was David Little playing piano. He is wonderful.
Waiter was either new, or just simply not good.. Seemed frequently confused, didn't come back to check on things, forgot things we asked for. He was actually quite terrible.
Food was just average. We had ribeye steaks, which were fatty, even for a ribeye. Vegetables were nearly raw. This was my 4th or 5th time at Icon, the other times were excellent. This was by far the worst visit there....
Disappointing. We've always like the Icon. Not this time. We had a new waitress & no one was helping or shadowing her, as they should have. It was 30 min after we ordered that our salads arrived & then only after we asked about them. Manager put in a quick appearance & never checked back with us. Was sad they will be closing, but not so sad now. Food was pretty good. I wanted my dressing on the side. It came,on the salad. After all that wait I didn't want to wait longer. Waitress promised to do a smaller version of the pear salad for 1 of us & not charge the $10. It was smaller, but we were charged the 10/
Had a great time, service was good, and particularly the bartender was specially attended to us while we were waiting for our table. Food was very good so much so we were too full for dessert. Going to miss you icon Grill we've been coming here for the past 15 years usually on our way to Jazz Alley.
Arrived early for reservation and still had to wait until 15-20 minutes past the reservation time to be seated, after asking the hostess at least 5 times why everyone that walked in the door was being seated and we weren't someone finally seated us. Our waiter was great, awesome service, everything timed perfectly. The food was ok but far from spectacular. Overall it was fine but we wouldn't go back.
Food was over priced and not that great
when a server refills the soda's and coffee and not just the alcoholic beverages she has my 5 stars!
The Christmas ambiance is magical. We love to bring our grandchildren here during the holidays. Great food, friendly staff, piano, and we always end with the plate of sugar cookies for the children to decorate. We all have wonderful memories while dining at the Icon Grill.
Every year we go to the Icon because the holiday decorations are fantastic! They always have a piano player playing Christmas songs and it's very festive. In years past the food has been pretty average but to our pleasant surprise this year it was very good.
I had had many previous good experiences at this Restaurant, but not this time. My wife and I came in to the Restaurant and were "greeted" by a very board Hostess. She didn't seem interested in us and our Reservation. We were shown to a table in a high traffic area which was very unsettling. The Waiter was disinterested in the Menu and so we made our own choices, which turned out to be bad. I'm not sure how a Kitchen can make a Filet have no taste, but both of ours did. These steaks were poor quality meat and mine tasted like it had dishwasher soap flavoring. Mine was undercooked and had to be returned. We started with a Caesar Salad and the lettuce didn't taste fresh or have any snap to it. The dressing was very bland to go with the wilted lettuce. Even my Glass of Zinfandel Wine tasted like it had been open overnight and was overly aerated. Our Waiter left it on our table instead of pouring it in the glass. I hate to be fussy, but when you are paying for $30 entrees, and have over a $100 bill for your total, I feel like you should get better treatment overall and better quality food. These older restaurants in Seattle need to set up in quality for what they are missing in sizzle. I doubt if I will ever go back. By the looks of things, the building/restaurant will be another one of the older blocks in town that gets razzed for a shiny new building with a trendy new Bistro or Café. I guess this restaurant has run it's course...
We love the Icon Grill. It's a place you can take well behaved kids and grandma. If you prefer, their Happy Hour is lively. The staff is always friendly. Food is always hot and yummy! I love their varied menu. Try it, you'll be a fan. Close to Westlake Center and the 5th Avenue Theater.
I've always enjoyed this restaurant until this experience. The service was terrible and the food mediocre. What happened?
Restaurant was fine; the OpenTable reservation was a big problem, apparently due to systems not connecting properly.
This is the lowest rating I have ever given a restaurant.
Three things I didn't like.
One -on three different occasions manager Chris was arrogant and supercilious
Two -two people in our party of five ordered steaks and both of them ate less than half they were so bad. The other three meals were fine.
Three- the manger didn't come over when we told the server, but did give us half off on each dinner
We bought two bottles of expensive wine so I was a little surprised about his response
The server Princess was very nice
We have been coming to Icon since it opened, and LOVE it. Some of our happiest times have been spent enjoying the food, service and atmosphere at Icon Grill. Since the building will be demolished soon to make way for more apartments (!) , it is our fondest Christmas wish that the Icon will find an amazing place to relocate. PLEASE. Love you!!
I'm sorry, but I could not believe how disappointing this restaurant was. It's been in Seattle for many years and with the amount of competition around I can't believe it's still operating if our meal was any indication of the quality. My daughter had the prime rib, which had almost no flavor. I had the beef fillet medallions with bleu cheese sauce. The sauce was tasty, but the sauteed onions had an odd taste and the medallions were tough and had gristle. Very disappointing for my daughter's birthday dinner. Will not be returning.
This was my first visit based on a recommend from a co-worker. Over all, Icon Grill met and surpassed expectations. I arrived early and was seated immediately. Being solo does have advantages. Service was some what paced due to other seatings however questions were answered with a smile. Elder Tom cocktail too yummy for words - riff on a Screwdriver now rendered Classy. Lovely salad with apples. Hog Wild Mac & Cheese lived up to the rep! No room for dessert - waah! Artistic interior ambience, great food, first class service, what a way to spend my first night back in Seattle.
We had friends visiting and wanting excellent food and a quiet environment. Service was efficient and unobtrusive. Ambience was perfect for conversation.
Great food and service without that pesky 20% service fee that so many restaurants in Seattle are charging these days. Kudo's to you ICON grill!
Very disappointed with the restaurant. I visited a few years ago and remembered a good restaurant, today's experience was terrible. The waiter began being very distracted, taking beverage service for only 1/2 the table then walking off. When he finally came back he made a comment about what women want, which was bordering on inappropriate. Once the food came two of the five meals were inedible. The final straw was that we received the bill, we were over charged for one drink. We waited 15 mins to get our waiter to come back to fix the bill but he never came back.
Will not go back or recommend to others.
great food and great service. More of a older demographic type establishment, would recommend to my parents and grandparents but unlikely I'd recommend to others my age (30 yrs and younger).
If your looking for some amazing Meatloaf then I'd highly recommend!
Always consistent. Good ambience. Great comfort food. My wife and I dine here about once a month over the past couple of years.
My friend and I ate at Icon Grill about three weeks ago and the food was very good. We had been there many years ago. We decided to take our husbands there this past weekend. The food was not good. I had to send my meal back as the meat was overcooked and very dried out. I returned it. The waiter brought my second round. It was medium rare as I requested but very tough. The side vegetables- both my husband and I ordered asparagus and broccoli. The order came with about eight very skinny dried up asparagus spears. My husband and I looked at each other and said you have got to be kidding. Then, we were served two very small florets of broccoli, and again..you have got to be kidding. My friend and I ordered sangria. There was no alcohol in the drinks. We should have sent them back but we did not. The waiter took half off of my meal for the overcooked beef. Granted he did not have to do this. Our waiter was very nice and there was nothing wrong with his service. However, we will not be returning to Icon Grill. We spent about 125.00 for a meal that would have been better had we just gone to Denny's.
Love the eklectic design of the space. The food was great- the snickerdoodle fritters are the best! Check ot out.
Great waitstaff. We were by a very noisy table so it was difficult to hear my friend at our table and enjoy conversation. Otherwise, loved the ambiance and decor.
