Overall, a good experience. We had the mussels and fries as an appetizer. The fries were phenomenal, perfectly crispy and well seasoned but the mussels were so-so.

Recommend the fallen apple cocktail; perfect for a cold fall evening!

I had the pork chop with apples and onions as an entree. The entree was very good with just enough seasoning to accentuate the pork's natural flavors.

Moderately loud on a Friday night, just enough to make it feel like you are uncomfortably loud when speaking across the table.

Good experience for the price!

Right off Union Square. Good ambiance, great service, and almost surprisingly great food. Yes, the squash dumplings are as good as everyone says... but, so was everything else. Pleasantly surprised at an overall great dining experience.

Typical NYC small tables but the food was good. I think either good or bad so this is a good rating from me. This restaurant is located on Union Square and there are quite a few places to walk around and visit very close by. Theatre on 15th Street makes dining there perfect before a show.

Food and service were great. Their beer selections leave a lot to be desired. Other than the limited beer selection this is 5 stars.

Appetizers were fantastic. Drinks were delicious. Deserts were also really good. None of us loved the entrees, but even still I would highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed our appetizers - crab melt and mains - rigatoni and duck. Server was friendly and helpful. Martinis were incredibly small for the price. Definitely a place to revisit.

Food was just great — especially liked the tuna tartare and the duck. Creative cocktails as well. Mains from 18 to 35; small plates from 10-20.

Quick trip to NYC and I forgot to make reservations to one of the regular places I go. This was a last minute find and it was a gem. Service was awesome, food was excellent, and in a city with everything this place stood out. 👍🏼

The brunch menu was terrific, it was hard to choose what to order! A smaller menu but executed very well the eggs under covers were delicious, the toast was crisp eggs were perfectly runny (not too over or under cooked) and the gruyere melted in your mouth. My husband had the biscuits and gravy with a side of cheddar grits, both of which were very good. The service was great as well, our server was so pleasant this was our second time here and we will definitely be coming back for a third!

We did not order any meals, but rather settled on some apps and signature cocktails before seeing a show at Irving Plaza.
The food was delicious, if a bit overpriced, but hey, it's NYC, we expected as much.
The drink was refreshing and lovely.
The water/bussing service was exceptional, but our regular wait staff could have checked in once or twice.
I had to flag down the waitress for a second drink.

This was a new face in familiar ground, right next to Irving Plaza. You'll be hearing raves about the squash dumplings. I did, and my brother and I split a plate, it's all true, sweet and very savory wontons. Very pleasant staff served up about the best burgers I've had, deeply tasty without being fussy. Tap was not wide but very good, we got Blue Point Toasted Lagers. Setting is dark, as in can't read the menu dark; I used a pocket flashlight, and found the prices to be in line for the Union Square area but objectively high.

In summary, I would return and probably share small plates.

Food was high quality and the service was good. I wasn't a huge fan of the duck, got it because the server recommended it, my own fault, not normally a huge fan of duck. Otherwise it was solid.

The limited menu still offered something for everyone. My son and I had the skirt steak which was served on the rare side. My husband had the bolegnase which was excellent. We chose the restaurant as it was close to the theater, but unfortunately it was so loud we had to yell throughout the meal.

Love this place. Appetizers are nice size and filling if you share a couple. Too bad they did not have a Burrata cheese last visit (it's very good). I did not care for their sparkling red wine on special. It was sour and very very light. But love the food and service and will definitely come back again.

The brunch menu was somewhat limited but plenty enough for choices. Excellent cheese grits. Eggs were done well. Sides were very good. The place was full of millennials...except for us at 2X+ millennials. We were served well regardless and enjoyed Saturday brunch.

Restaurant was super noisey!! they could use some acoustic tile treatments but when there was less people it was much better.

We asked our waitress for recommendations and she told us to go with all small plates and everything was excellent. We shared 4 dishes between the 2 of us which was perfect.

Not the cheapest but food was super yummy!

Ichabod's doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but the food is better here than at many better known restaurants in the neighborhood. We shared squash dumplings, fried artichokes and flatbread, all small plates, to start, and had an entree size plate of scallops, a special, after. Everything was tasty and well prepared. Along with the food we had a reasonably priced eminently drinkable bottle of rose. And the prices were reasonable for a New York City restaurant. Definitely a place I would return to.

Walked by Ichabod's many times thinking it was a just a loud bar for a younger crowd. But we decided to try it since we had tickets for an early play nearby. So glad we did. The menu is all small plates- which is great since we were able to try a number of dishes. We especially loved the squash dumplings and the burrata with strawberries and basil. But everything was very good. Save room for dessert- they use their homemade vanilla ice cream in a caramel pretzel toasted marshmallow sundae which was unbelieveable.
The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. Things did start getting noisy and more hectic around seven when we were leaving

We choose this spot purely based on its location -- close to a show we were seeing. While it seems like little more than a neighborhood bar, we received higher level food than we expected. There's some serious cooking going on in the back. We thoroughly enjoyed the ribs, the truffled dumplings and the crispy artichokes.

Food was good, service was just ok. Noise level/acoustics are so bad in there I could barely hear the people I was with. I had a reservation and they would not let me sit until the other 2 arrived (3 of us total). I get that but the place is tiny and you can't stand at the bar and have a drink while you wait. When we got to our table, as we were squeezing in and trying to sit, a staff person was pouring waters - we all had to move out of his way so he could do that instead of letting us sit first. Weird. The waitress came over 60 seconds later to take our order and we obviously weren't ready yet - then it took a long time to get her back over. Also, when they run your card, it shows up on your statement as a different name so I cancelled my credit card thinking it was fraud and then realized it was this place - so all in all pretty annoying and not worth the hassle for decent food. Also, wine by the glass menu is pretty weak.

My wife and I ate at Ichabod's before attending a concert at Irving Plaza. We arrived a half hour late but it was not a problem. The staff worked as a team and were very attentive. We shared 4 small plates and everything was fresh and tasty. We Especially enjoyed the fried calamari. Not a place for large portions at low prices but if you are looking for a creative mix of food I highly recommend Ichabod's.
