Icebox Cafe Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
Excellent place for brunch! Although a bit on the pricey side, everything was fresh & delicious. Great variety of egg dishes and the benedicts we had were wonderful. La Colombe coffee was a big plus. Service very attentive-- the server was very patient and kind to my elderly mother-in-law. Definitely plan on returning the next time we're in South Beach.
I had not been to this restaurant in several years; my first experience was excellent. This time, however, the restaurant was practically empty which rarely makes for a fun dining experience. I ordered the fish special which arrived overcooked. The potatoes were inedible. The server cleared my mostly untouched plate without asking if I had enjoyed the meal or not. I volunteered that the food was not to my liking; he apologized and said he would alert the kitchen, but that was the extent of his action.
We enjoyed a terrific 9:30pm meal at IceBox on Miami Beach after a grandson graduated high school this week. Our party of six shared appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. One was as good as the next. Of special mention, the kale salad, the rotisserie chicken with a side of roasted sweet potatoes were all outstanding. Everyone enjoyed and said they'd like to return again. We definitely recommend IceBox for a yummy meal and reasonably priced. Lastly, we had a lovely waitress, who was from Egypt. She was very sweet and accommodating, which made the meal evening more enjoyable.
Still miss them off Lincoln Rd. We had not been here in a while, the special for Valentine's, Chateaubriand caught our eye and since I was going to be making it the following weekend wanted to have a point of reference. It was very good. Will return with more frequency
This standard in the South Beach scene just gets better and better. New refreshing menu offerings appear regularly while old favorites continue to taste fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is hip, modern but casual at the same time. And alway nice to see the owner, Robert, hanging out there enjoying his own food!
Great breakfast options and very accommodating of my request to change the ingredients in my egg white frittata. It was very delicious. My husband had the avocado toast with smoked salmon added on. Both great meals and will suffice for an early lunch. We also had the Roberts green juice which was freshly pressed and wonderful. Price is about $5 less expensive than what we've found elsewhere and better. Great coffee too! Excellent service. Going back for dinner!
Nice healthy menu selection, good choice of drinks, great service - but then there are the desserts. Unsure why there are no healthy desserts offered? Enormous fattening frosted cakes reminiscent of the 1950's, must be around 800 calories a slice each. I am European, so must be that cliche "America's big, the people are big, their voices are big and their cakes are huge !"
The restaurant looks good, but lived a complete nightmare!
I specified on my reservation that I have Celiac. They told me they would be careful but they could not insure me that it would not be cross contaminated. I ordered the ceviche and a salad with oil and vinegar dressing to play safe. I can only tell you that the cook place some gluten on my food on purpose because I got so sick instantly and that it is sure they loaded my plate intentionally.
I will never go there again and if you have celiac, avoid this place! They have the mention gluten free on few items on their menu only for people that don t want gluten by fashion. Shame on you not to take care Celiac people seriously!
We love Icebox and usually go for lunch but this was for my wife's birthday (where else to go for glorious cake?) so we went in the evening, but early to avoid Saturday crowds. The service is warm and helpful, the atmosphere can range from quiet and relaxed (if you choose your time properly) to bustling and great people watching. The food is always very good and the cakes stupendous. The specialty cocktails can be extremely seductive...
Dined here on New Years Eve. Thought the food was great, better than I remember as I have dined here multiple times. Restaurant was not busy which is how we ended up here. Easy to get a reservation. Service was fine other than feeling rushed the entire time. Understood it was getting late and it was New Years Eve, but if you are going to be open and working, then let your patrons enjoy a nice, slow dinner. Will go back, but would try harder finding another place to dine on NYE.
