Iaria's Italian Restaurant
Food was too salty and chicken part was like a rock.- way over cooked very disappointed
We were a group of four on Friday night with a reservation. The food was fantastic! We started with the goat cheese appetizer. The spicy, sweet sauce on the warm goat cheese did not overpower the flavor of the cheese. Enjoyed a salad with our meal. Go for the homemade blue cheese dressing; there is more blue cheese than dressing in it. Fettuccine Alfredo was amazing! Very smooth consistency and very thick. The grouper fish with lemon sauce was baked to perfection. Very flaky and tasty. Not a fan of capers, but they can be scraped off or eaten sparingly. Also can be ordered without. Was not impressed with the Eggplant Parmesan. It tasted overcooked and mushy.
Atmosphere is casual, and it can get noisy in the dining area; it's an open room with tables and no sound muffling. If you're hard of hearing, opt for eating on the patio if it is open. There is not much of a view but it will be quieter. Overall, worth the money. We will go back for more.
We were there for Mother’s Day. Place was packed, but service and food were great, as always. We had 2 small kids with us, and they were thoughtful enough to get the kids’ food out ASAP, without us even asking. We will always go back there several times a year.
Great old school Italian restaurant. Great service and food. I would highly recommend. Beware of the potholes on street going into parking and also the parking lot.
Best red sauce in town! I do miss the manicotti-it’s been off the menu for years and I still crave it!
Everything was great except the microwaved meatballs... overcooked and not edible.
I hate writing less than stellar reviews but this time I must. My friends and I have been coming to Iaria’s the night before the Mini Marathon since 2008. Last year our food but questionable but I shrugged it off to a busy night in the kitchen. However, this year the owners and operators of the restaurant need to know. Three out of the four entrees were cold upon delivery. Three out of the four dinners were described as fair at best. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. I order the eggplant every year, I used to love it. While it was cold, there was big globs of nothing but the breading. There was little to know cheese on top and it looked as if it had been “plopped” on the serving dish. My vegetables were cold, mushy and literally floating in grease. I was so embarrassed as I am the unofficial host for the weekend. Luckily they are wonderful good friends that will not hold me accountable for the poor meal. Now what on earth do we do next year? I hate breaking tradition.
I've been coming to Iaria's for 40 years. Yes 40! It's a solid experience every time. I've never had a bad meal. If you're looking for old school italian in an old school atmosphere, Iaria's is the place for you. Try the anti-pasta and the blue cheese dressing! YUM!
Grouper picatta was outstanding and gold rush cocktail was awesome, great service from Joe
Your service was extremely terrible. We waited 30 minutes for 1 bowl of fettuccini Alfredo. Your seating hostess was rude and not helpful and your tables were way too close.
Great authentic Italian joint! Good food, great service !
Service was a little slow but a great old world Italian dining experience
Food wasn’t amazing, but acceptable. Noice level was high in the bar area, I would sit on the other side for a more intimate setting next time. I couldn’t even hear my date across from me.
Waitress was pleasant as she could be but slow and multiple mistakes. Felt like we were outsiders. Be long time before i think about return. Chicken marsala excellent
Excellent food, love the old school ambiance--not a fancy place but a great Red Sauce Joint and you will leave HAPPY!
Waitress was excellent. Everything was OK.
We have been going here for years. I always get the lasagna which doesn’t disappoint, but this time got the chicken parmigiana and it was horrible. The chicken was over cooked, flat, chewy, and tasteless. Didn’t comment to the staff because we were on our way to a show, but definitely disappointed.
Great as always
It never loses its charm. Transports me back to the neighborhood family dining
Rose provided exceptional service and the food was PHENOMENAL!!! I’ll be back again and again and again!!! 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟❤️🍝🥫🍕❤️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟
Sent my prom kids there - wonderful time had by all....
The food was excellent! The only negative was the noise level in the dinner, I felt like we had to talk really loud to hear our family across the table. However it won’t deter us from eating there again.
Second time eating here, the restaurant has not been redecorated in many years and is exactly what it should be. Very clean, it is a bit noisy when busy. The staff is friendly and attentive. Food is very good, this trip there were three of us eating a pretty wide variety of what the menu offers and everything was delicious. Value for dollar excellent!
Food was great, service was prompt and very friendly! They have a lot to offer on the menu, while I was leaving I was thinking about what I was going to order on my next visit!
Food was plentiful. Bread was eh. Margarine? Really??? Over cooked shrimp, clams and mussels. Sauces were excellent. Salad was ok. Service was ok. Loud but it’s a family joint. To be expected.
I loved my entree (Grouper piccata). The fish was wonderful and done perfectly. My companions were not quite as enthusiastic as I, which was why I rated the food as good but not great or exceptional. My main complaint was that the service was very slow.
I love this place!!!
We tried the pizza this visit. It was very delicious! Joe provided us with great service.
A friend recommended Iaria’s and we were not disappointed! Great atmosphere, great staff and great food!
Very good food. Lively place, so if you’re looking for quiet high class dining, you may look other places. I was very impressed with everything!
The food was ok, I have had better Italian food. The atmosphere was more like a diner than a Italian restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and the service was great.
We love Iaria's! Service is provided by folks that treat you like family. The crowd is alive and happy, yet not overly loud or boisterous. Food is excellent. Our 8 year old grandson even loves it!
Just as we expected, the food and service were great!
Wonderful lunch specials and friendly wait staff. Terrific!
Iaria's cuisine is excellent and ample portions. Great wait-staff.
Always the best.
My wife and I love Iarias. What it lacks in decor is more than made up for by a great wait staff, food that is well cooked, and plentiful and hits all the right taste bud spots. The menu is not overly filled but the choices there are what everyone will enjoy. Fresh ingredients and warm, tasty bread are an easy way to get people in the doors and they do it just right.
Great atmosphere food and service at a great value!!
If the food weren’t amazing enough to give this place 5 stars (and it was!) the staff (huge shout out to Dominique), the ambience, and the vibe would be. This place was recommended by a local over every other Italian place in the city and I’m so glad we came through town again to visit. We sat in the bar area, LOVED IT. And the shrimp cocktail trumps that of St Elmo’s “famous” dish. Can’t waitto be back in Indianapolis!
