For the main course, I Sodi offers housemade pasta dishes that include spinach and ricotta ravioli and lasagna in meat or artichoke sauce. Those looking for other options will find Cornish hen, New York strip steak and fried chicken dishes crafted with fine herbs for a full-bodied taste. Side dishes include sautéed spinach, fried potatoes and cannellini beans to name a few options. I Sodi has a bar with drink selections that pair beautifully with the various meals.

We enjoyed an early dinner at the bar counter. All the dishes we tried was rather simply prepared, but delicious allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the good quality ingredients. The home made pasta was lovely, too. They reminded me how the cooking should be. The services at the bar was excellent, too: quick, efficient, and caring.

Oh this was an amazing restaurant. Food was the fantastic but the service was the part that pushed the score to 5/5. We had Tartare, Lasagna, Artichoke salads, Risotto. All super good

We come to I Sodi a few times a year and are never disappointed. We were there the night of the NYT review by coincidence and it was packed. Newer waiter was rushing us a bit, but it will settle down again and be the perfect gem of a restaurant that we love. The food is divine.

Food is excellent but staff make it very clear that they have ample regulars and you're not one of them. Left standing in doorway without anyone so much as nodding at us for literally 5 minutes. And not because we were badly dressed or behaved just to be clear, and we had a reservation at an early hour. In fairness, the place is tiny, but the chilly attitude was most disappointing. Oh well, there are plenty of top notch restaurants where they treat new patrons beautifully.

The restaurant staff is professional and welcoming. The restaurant itself is small and the decor is not so inviting. Food is overpriced-better value at Villa Mosconi, Mezzogiorno, Arco Cafe. The cacio e pepi is VERY peppery and salty-overpowers the pasta.

I Sodi was recommended to me by a friend, and his recommendation did not disappoint. We had a little bit of an early reservation, but we were greeted warmly, and our server was very kind and had a great knowledge about the food and wine. He also gave us our space and let us eat our meal, without feeling rushed, so they could sit the next table. Definitely will go again!

We were seated close to 8:40pm for an 8pm reservation which we were on time for. This didn't bother us because we weren't starving or in a rush, but we should have seen it as a red flag. Staff is friendly and the white negroni and wine were great. The restaurant was busy and maybe a server or someone called out, but we shouldn't have felt the effects. The timing gaps between being served water, drinks, bread/olives and entrees were very wide. Sardine special was good but needed a squeeze of lemon. We had one bite of the rabbit and cacio e pepe and both were not good at all. The rabbit was dry and just tasted of weird pancetta. The side of cooked greens were terrible and tasted like mucky frozen spinach cooked in salted water - there was barely an afterthought of evoo and garlic. The cacio e pepe had so much black pepper that I physically had difficultly swallowing my first and only bite. Servers walked by and eyed our full plates but no one stopped to ask if anything was wrong. Our server apologized but didn't offer any solutions and dropped the check. The two entrees we barely touched should have been comped. No manager came by. At that point, our only recourse was to withhold the tip. I've never not tipped - it was an awful feeling, but I hope the restaurant is mindful and kind enough to their staff to pay out the server on the check despite the lack of tip. My boyfriend and I work in the restaurant industry. Our overall experience was absolutely abysmal.

Second time that I have been and my expectations were extremely high. The food surpassed my expectations and I would have given this a 5 star experience had it not been for one of the staff who was incredibly rude to a member of our party. It is extremely unfortunate as the experience otherwise was excellent and this individual ruined it.

I don't live in NYC and the only reason I came was for the Artichoke Lasagna...which they were out of sadly. The replacement dish was over salted and I barely ate any of it. Bummed as I have been trying to get back to one of my fave NYC italian spots since I moved 4 years ago only to not be happy when I left...

The food was excellent and service was efficient but not too rushed and the small. The special truffle tagliatelle was amazing. Radicchio salad (which I normally don't like) was excellent as was the rabbit. The ganache cookies with graham crackers were sooo good. Excellent food - not over complicated which I find far too many places do now. Highly recommend

Cold, rubbery bread in the bread basket, artichoke salad like cardboard with something like lousy provolone being passed off as pecorino. My husband's pasta with ragu was fine, but the fried chicken was rubbery and the rabbit was incredibly over salted. Orange tart with chocolate gelato had lost all it's flavor. Must have been sitting there for a month before they served it.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village. Few tables so reserve well in advance. Authentic and refined Italian menu. The lasagna is remarkable, especially the artichoke lasagna. Cacio e pepe is as good as you can get in Rome. Very nice wine list.

We ate at the bar; something we love to do at all of our favorite restaurants. Our bartender, Chris, was quite inattentive and dismissive of our inquiries. His responses seemed to be in code. Finally as we were leaving and saw the signature dish of fried artichokes and inquired why he had not offered them; his response was only if you are friends of the chef might you have those. Really??!! We will never go back. Too many choices in our neighborhood. Too bad as the food was quite good.

Loved I Sodi for the food and service, but very small and everyone's packed-in. Luckily we scored a table by the window, where there's more breathing room. First off - it's impossible to get a reservation here. We lucked out by getting one, last minute, at 8:30. But still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. But we had a nice cocktail on the little bench in the entry way. Once seated, service was efficient and quick. Had the grilled sardine appetizer special - delicious with this fluffy potatoes that were great. Main course - rigatoni and another special, lasagne with black truffles. Also wonderful - my husband thought it a pricey for just pasta , though. But I had a cocktail and we each had two glasses of very good Italian white - like a Chablis. too stuffed for dessert. Would go back but hesitate as it's a bit claustrophobic if you're seated against the wall.

This is our 2nd time to the restaurant and it will remain on our Short list for everytime we are in New York. Great service but the food sets them apart....artichoke appetizer, homemade pastas, branzino with white beans and the "to die for" Pane cotta. Excellent wine list and lovely romantic yet lively ambiance.

I was pleasantly surprised with I Sodi. The menu is not typical--if you're not a foodie and want spaghetti and meatballs, this is not the place for you. I very much enjoyed the dishes we ordered, especially the paccheri. The venue is very small but cozy. We had a table for four, and given the size of the space, I found the table to be amply-sized and comfortable. While we brought our two kids, I wouldn't recommend it. Luckily, we got there on the early side so it wasn't much of an issue. I think I Sodi is charming, I enjoyed it's unique menu, and I would gladly go back with friends.

Why? She is imaginative, knows Italian food well, and trusts ingredients. Those ingredients include artichokes which she shreds, fries, roasts. Those ingredients at this time of year include truffles and porcini mushrooms. Who can ask for anything more? Well, there is more--a warm, accommodating, helpful and professional staff. Happy eating to those who visit.

The food is excellent—authentic, no-frills, perfectly executed—as is the wine list (with prices on the higher end). The waitstaff is extremely knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine/bar. The space is nicely arranged for such small quarters. It can get quite loud, though. My only serious qualm is that the last time we ate there, we felt rushed to leave at the end of our meal. And, we were not the only ones: the table next to us was specifically asked to leave because people with a reservation were waiting. Of course, walk-ins waiting a long time and people with reservations past their seating time should expect to be seated promptly. However, it's a shame to feel like you have to end your pleasant meal on a rushed, sour note. Perhaps they should consider spacing their reservation times further apart.

I Sodi is a little gem in an unusual spot on Christopher Street. Hidden among the bars and other less classy places in the 'hood, I Sodi fosters not only excellent food and service, but a classy place to be together for a great meal. While the first courses can be a little on the shy serving size for the price, the main courses are both delicious and priced right. The only down side is the size, and we all know that in this neighborhood, size matters!

Food was excellent but we were not seated promptly (kept waiting close to 20 mins) despite having a reservation and all parties being present too. Disappointed by this incident as we were entertaining someone from out of town and server was short with us. If the restaurant needed the table back from a prior seating by a certain time, they should enforce it.

Wine listed is substantial. Cocktails, the negroni in particular, are consistently polished. I would have given fives all around but for the fact that my missing dessert went undelivered even after I made it known. But the place is so good, I really didn't care.

My husband heard about I Sodi from colleagues. He likes to research places to dine when he reads that a certain restaurant is supposed to be "0ff the hook" as was the talk among the restaurant crowd over I Sodi! I made a reservation well in advance to celebrate our anniversary and we were not disappointed! The food was off the hook! Delicious, we can't say enough, and we are both very good cooks in our Kitchen. The atmosphere was trendy and classic, simple elegance in design and the service polite, charming and professional. You weren't rushed between courses and the wine was superb. We love I Sodi and we will be going there again...soon!
