Visited for Friday dinner. The server was very friendly and suggested hot sake (Ozeki) when we were considering more expensive sake not knowing that it was cold sake. The sake was great and cheaper! We had fried calamari for appetizer and sukiyaki and grilled mackerel for entree. All were great but the fried calamari were the best. They are crispy and sauce (white and red) are soo good.

New since my last visit: Take out case near front with some great sushi and salad options! Also, specialty rolls on lunch menu. The Isabel roll was fabulous.

It was our 23rd anniversary, and they were very nice. They got my order wrong, but the manager came out and apologized and did everything he could to make up for it, including a nice dessert. This is our favorite Japanese restaurant. When I need my sushi fix, we drive there from Federal Way. It's worth it.

I've told everyone who loves sushi over the last 20 years this place was the best. Unfortunately, it seems as tho there must have been some changes. The last 2-3 times we've eaten here were a little disappointing. Our favorite dishes are no longer served and the food has become a bit "average". I still like the place. Just don't Love it. Very sad.

We ordered four "I Love Sushi Kaiseki." The food was not good (didn't taste and look fresh, definitely not worth $40), also didn't even look like the picture on their menu. Asked the waitress about it but he didn't really provide an answer. Both the service and food was not good at all. We have visited here before many times and referred others too. This time we had such a bad experience, will not recommend to others again.

I've been a frequent diner at this location. I Love Sushi in Bellevue on the lake has always been on the pricey side but the quality and service has been going down over the last few years. This last experience will certainly make me think twice before coming here again. While I would let slide the fact that cups of tea were not refilled even though the servers walked by numerous times, the presentation of a few plates of rolls that were not well rolled and falling apart had my wife commenting that rolls we had at a nearby conveyer belt sushi place were presented better. Then we got served Jalapeno Bomber rolls that didn't have Jalapeno garnish on the roll - the server even placed the dish and announced "Jalapeno Bomber Roll" :)

After bringing the omission to the manager's attention and mentioning the quality of the prior dishes, he apologized profusely and discounted our final bill. I appreciate the gesture but a higher end restaurant should not have had this happen to begin with.

Yuki was our waiter and he was amazing! Attentive, polite, and was also very upbeat. The food was soooo tasty. They even worked with me and my crazy gluten free dietary restrictions.

Thanks for such a great experience on my husbands birthday!

Decent environment. They ran out of certain kinds of sushi and some deserts. Difficult to be there for a relatively early dinner to find they are out of what you wanted to eat.

Food was good as usual except my dessert. I love anmitsu, but what was in the glass container yesterday seemed too little compared to other times I had the same dessert. The green tea ice cream was about half the size, not a full scoop. I was a bit disappointed. It took a long time for all the desserts to come, too, as well as my husband's meal. Rest of us were nearly finished when his lunch was brought to the table. Our server was apologetic, but they should know that the regulars like us would notice when quality goes down and things are not the same.

A hidden restaurant in Downtown Bellevue that needs more recognition. The nabeyaki is a go to comfort dish. Rolls are also a must have if you aren't into raw fish. A great spot for a family birthday or lunch date.

Fabulous sushi, with a great selection of salmon. The rainbow roll is one of our favorites. Service is excellent and friendly. Access from I-405 is a bit of a struggle as you have to perform a U turn on 8th, so don't pay much attention to your GPS, its likely to be out of date with the all the development work going on. Just drive through the Porche dealers and pretend you are browsing fro our next ride.

Such QUALITY high grade sushi and expertly trained chefs. You're paying a bit more than elsewhere, but the quality is the highest you will find in King County, and the service and location make it worth a drive.

The fish was particularly fresh and outstanding this particular evening. Everything was beautifully prepared and served.

My only comment which would otherwise give this restaurant higher ratings is the wait it took to order our food. But, staff and management are extremely polite and very interested in making sure we had all of our needs met. We are regular customers and will continue coming.

Wonderful fish and some nice creativity in their rolls. The agedashi tofu and fried rice cubes (that look like tater tots with spicy tuna on top) were really yummy, too. A bit of sticker shock when we first looked at the prices in the menu, but when the food arrived, we could really appreciate the amount of beautiful fish that they include in their rolls. So, ultimately, we felt that the value was reasonable. Lovely service by about 4-5 different people who came separately to our table at one time or another. Nice setting. Very quiet on Sunday of MLK Weekend.

The food portion is super small. We ordered sashimi and have never seen such small pieces. In any restaurant. There are only 4 pieces for spider roll. Spent $90 for 3 people's lunch and was still humgry after the meal. Used to love this restaurant but will not go again!

If you want the best damn sushi on the eastside, here it is. Yes it will cost you more than
the conveyor belt food, but that's normal. learn to expect it. i've been eating here for 25 years
and every time I try to find a better sushi joint I am just disappointed.

Experience has dropped significantly in the past year. Head Sushi master Masa-san has left (since '14), and the restaurant run by seemingly amateurs - no one spoke a word of Japanese. The size of the Sushi has diminished (cost cutting?), but fortunately the flavor remains. Don't expect to leave the restaurant filled to the gills with Sushi - there are other items on the menu for that. I'm the type who won't embarrass wait staff over little things, but the time it took to receive attention and tea (a must in Japanese restaurant) was ridiculously long for a slow Monday lunch at 11:45. A server who wasn't in charge of the area I was sitting in came to ask if we have been served, and I answered with a stern "no". The server in charge had an attitude, and made the extra effort to create noise when placing the dishes on the table.
I am rarely disappointed by restaurants as I am quite liberal with "benefit of doubt" (I'll try anything twice) so make of this post what you will, but it will be while until I warm up to re-visiting ILSLB again.
I claim to qualify, having been a customer since ILS opened at their location on/near 8th Street. Having worked at a Japanese restaurant, I know what is the standard. Being a native Japanese, I claim to be wise enough to know what is expected as a customer in the US as opposed to Japan. I sincerely hope this was a freak incident, for their sake.
