Rather disappointing. Looked cute from a passing cable car but in reality did not live up to expectations. Okay in the context of a neighborhood restaurant but would not recommend.

So happy I booked this spot! Traveling alone for business and wanted a nice seafood place. Loved the halibut in parchment paper with julienne veggies. Service was excellent and really enjoyed speaking with my waitress. Will recommend and hope to come back!!

The Fawlty Towers of San Francisco! Literally the worst service I've ever had! Awful wine list! Saved by the best lobster ravioli I've had in ages!!

The waitress had a put upon attitude. The restaurant was 80 percent empty in a Saturday night. This place is not doing well. I think it was the waitresses fault that I won't be going back because the food was clean fresh and simply prepared.

Don't believe this is a 4 star restaurant. The food was TERRIBLE! The clam chowder was from a can with no flavor. I had to put a ton of salt in it to be able to taste it. The scallops weren't cooked well and in some weird cream sauce.

There were only two servers for the entire restaurant.

My family and I couldn't wait to get out of there.

We went somewhere else to get dessert to get the taste of the meal out of our mouths.

Avoid at all costs.

We loved the food, fresh seafood and creative cooking.
Only thing against it: too much work for 2 servers, although they did their best, there was some wait.

I have been there a number of times, and this time it was awful. The service was slow, the food was cold, over/under cooked, and didn't taste right. I'm not sure if they changed chefs but I will not go back.

The happy hour at this restaurant was amazing. The oysters were great and you had a selection of a number of oysters rather than the chef choosing one time. You have to go there.

Nice, quiet place. Food was good. My biggest disappointment was that the portion size for our orders weren't that big. I'm a big eater so I like my food! Also, on my wife's order, it called for tomatoes in the sauce with fish but they forgot to add the tomatoes. They ended up bringing out just a raw cut up tomato, a little hard and unripened, to compensate. Nice gesture, but not quite the same!

I chose this restaurant because it was the only one available to accommodate my large part (5) at the last minute. In dining here, I understand why they have open availability...

This was a rather flavorless dinner. We ordered Caesar salad for two which lacked any hint of garlic, oil, or the as claimed blended anchovies. My wife ordered King Salmon and I the local fish both prepared in parchment paper. We each tasted both dishes which included potato and julienned vegetables in the parchment pouch. The method is not unfamiliar to us but the result in this case was bland. No wonder this restaurant was nearly empty at dinner time.

I liked this place and it had good food. I would call it a neighborhood gem, that in mind it could use an update. Seemed a little dingy but maybe that is what people like about it. Food was nice and price was reasonable.

This might be the longest two-person dinner I've ever had. Because it was Valentine's Day, they were pretty busy and it took at least 20 minutes between each service (order, bread, food, dessert). They didn't lack seating and we were seated (with a reservation) right away, but seemed incredibly short-staffed on the floor and in the kitchen.

In terms of the food, the raw oysters were SUPER BOMB. One of the freshest I've ever had. The meal was pretty good, but not $28-worth good. The stuffed shrimp was a little too buttered-up for my taste. I've gotten better seafood at touristy Fisherman's Wharf for less.

The ambiance was excellent. Dim lighting, nautical decor, tucked away in a cute neighborhood. Probably would have been a better experience on a less impacted night, though it provided plenty of time to connect in a romantic setting.

Picked this review based on the menu that was available on line. Was disappointed with the interior -- it was cold and a bit dated. Ordered oysters on the half shell ($15 for a dozen) and enjoyed them; lobster bisque -- also enjoyed that; and mussels which had an off taste flavor. Service was rapid, responsive and friendly. With all the choices in San Fran don't think that I'll be returning. Total bill came to $49.40 which was a bit steep considering I drank water.

A family owned business that's been around. Great seafood that isn't overly overpriced as touristy restaurants down in the Wharf. Only downside is this is a neighborhood restaurant which makes parking difficult. Probably best to taxi or rideshare, just ask the driver to keep out of the way of the Cable Cars!

 (Las Vegas)·Dined on January 1, 2017

The restaurant looks elegant and classic American from the outside, with wood paneling on interior walls, a tad dated 1970's look and feel.it was clean but definitely can use an update to elevate the drab interior. Service was ok though the wait staff did not show much enthusiasm.

Being a home chef, I find the food to be unimaginative and bland. The house salad was bland and barely dressed; the escargot appetizer lack distinctive flavoring and can use an infusion of garlic and butter. Plating was also drab. My spouse's seafood in parchment paper has a fair amount of seafood, but again could use more seasoning. Her potatoes inside the parchment was undercooked and inedible; my potato crusted salmon sounded interesting, but was basically salmon wrapped in hash browns with little flavor. Coffee was made fresh for us and good. For dessert, the key lime pie had a ghastly brown tinge to it and did not taste fresh; and the chocolate torte was a small slice but tasty. We settled on this restaurant as others around this neighborhood were closed on New Year's Day. We were underwhelmed by the lackluster food and left a bid sad that we celebrated a special day at an outdated restaurant, both in appearance and food quality. My spouse also feels that it was overpriced for what they offered.

I visited because I wanted a seafood dinner. I ordered the fish cooked in paper "en papillote". The fish was cooked only halfway and was seriously rare and nearly inedible. Service needs a lot of improvement. waitress had no idea what to do with my fish being undercooked. I don't plan to return
