We had wonderful pizzas here. We all got different kinds of pizza and each one was delicious. The freshly made biscuits and jam were a nice touch at the beginning of the meal. It is very family friendly.
Excellent casual spot to have dinner - right across the street from the Woodlands, in the "woodlands". Not the first time we've been there and always the staff was more than friendly and courtesy, always leaving with the feeling of a friend to return to. The best chili - in the "soup" variety - that I can remember. Chicken sandwich delicious as well as the Caesar Salad. Although somewhat typical menu, always special food - never a disappointment. Huzzah is a great alternative to the semi-authentic cuisines of the historic taverns - which are also highly recommended. A nice, simple place after a hectic day in the 18th century.
Just ordinary food poorly cooked at relatively igh price.
To be fair, the kids had a great time and the pizza was delicious. But the app we ordered (nachos) arrived long after our dinner was served and was terrible. The manager comped it because of the timing but I was just glad because it tasted terrible. I asked for my spicy sauce for my chicken sandwich on the side and didn’t get it till almost 20 mins after my meal. It was good sauce but the meal itself was greatly disappointing. Could barely get my water filled either. Service took foorreeever.
Very good for a "hotel restaurant." Food is above average. Pizzas are very good. Dessert is fantastic. Service is very good. I had one of their specialty drinks, the "Tennessee Mule," a take on "Moscow Mule," but made with honey whiskey. Very tasty. Ate there twice. Both times the managers came over to make sure our needs were being met. The menu is small, but the quality is good, especially for the price. The pizza and burgers are a hit, and the smothered tater tots as well!
It was a nice meal, good burger and tater tots.
Good Southern cooking! I had Stew fresh biscuits . Sweetheart of a Server. Convenient location.
I had the pot roast and it was really good. My only complaint was that when we arrived and showed our opentable reservation, the host asked what time I made the reservation and that they don't typically accept open table reservations if not made in advance before 4pm. We had a 7pm reservation that I booked around 5pm. With that being said, he said they could still seat us since they weren't very busy, but in the future, if they had been crowded, our opentable would not have been honored. Other than that, our food and service was good and it wasn't very crowded.
Our only disappointment was we had to ask for the Parmesan cheese for the pizza, and they had no oregano to sprinkle on top of it
Huzzah is a fun place to go while in the Colonial Williamsburg area, but the food was marginal for the price. But it was convenient at the end of a day at Colonial Williamsburg and there were games to play outside. Service was good and quick.
This was a great place to go especially with my grandchildren. They had pizza which they were delighted to help in the process of putting together, and they raved about it! Also drawing raves was the homemade biscuits and jam. Our server was especially terrific. I had an excellent salad.
Solidly good menu with something for everyone. Service was a bit slow and pizza was not great. Overall, this restaurant gets a B+/A-
This was my second visit to Huzzah's. Even though we had made reservations we were put at a high top table and the service was slow to start. The restaurant was not full at all and there were booths empty as well. Food was average. It's great that it is on The Woodland Property as we walked there!
We had such a nice time and our server Stephanie was great. My 8 year old loved going to make his own pizza and our white pizza was delicious. We subbed mushrooms for the chicken and it had mozzarella, ricotta and pesto, it was very flavorful. We played corn hole and ping pong outside while waiting for our food. It's definitely a family restaurant.
The food was good and the portions ample. We had enough food for lunch the next day. Staff were friendly. A colonial magician stopped by the table to show us a trick and let us know about a show in the hotel lobby. We were not staying at the hotel. Based on the website and photos, I was expecting more of an experience for my daughter. The restaurant is on the back of the hotel, so it was also hard to figure where to park and how to get to it. Better signage would help. The sign on the main road is big and easy to read, but once you get back into the area where the hotel and visitor center are located, it would help to have more signs about parking and how to get to it.
Cheap eats in the area. The pizza is o.k the service was not so great. The hostess made the best impression. Overall not impressed.
The food was great. Pot roast was delicious and my son loved the fried chicken.
Limited but good menu. Home made chips very good. Brisket very flavorful.
Food and service were very good.
The only complaint that we had was, it is impossible to figure out how to find the restaurant, how to get to it, and where to park. Add to that, it was pouring rain. Unless you are staying at the hotel, you wouldn't know that the restaurant was there.
Food=delicious and that’s priority #1 for a restaurant. We made reservations and they seemed to have to knowledge of this, though it didn’t matter as we were seated immediately anyway. Service was solidly good but not super fast. I think she had a few too many tables to wait on so not totally her fault. Worst part of experience: When we departed out of a side door AFTER observing 2 prior parties do the same AND also AFTER asking our server about going out that way, we were chased down by a manager person to scold us for going out that way. Honestly-your own employee told us it was ok and when we said that she was like “well that doesn’t matter you’re not supposed to go out there”. What the heck?!?! We actually ASKED and it was so embarrassing.
The food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. We truly enjoyed this visit and can’t wait to come back. A great ending to our vacation!!!
Exceptional service/polite and friendly staff, and great food - it's a perfect experience with families while in Williamsburg
We are vegetarians and we really appreciated the fact that there were Impossible burgers on the menu. The burgers were very tasty when they came. However, the service was quite slow. We had a 6:00 reservation and ordered quickly but did not even get our salads until 6:45.
Even with a reservation they didn't have a table available for us. The food took forever to come out and the service was extremely poor and slow. The food was delicious though and it was a unique restaurant!
Biscuits and jam to start are delicious!
Huzzah’s is behind the Woodlands Hotel and it is worth a visit. The prices are what it to be expected of a hotel restaurant but the food is surprisingly really good. We tried to reserve a table through Open Table but ended up getting their early. They didn’t seem to mind that we were ahead of our reservation time and didn’t really seem like they confirm reservations through Open Table so I would call if you are planning on them holding a table for a larger party.
Very good brisket, falls right apart no knife needed. Biscuits and jam were really good. They do not honor open table reservations. We got there right after they opened
We had to wait for our table as we were told they don't honor OpenTable reservations. Once seated we learned there was only one chef working that night and nothing was in sync. One order was to make your own pizza however our son wasn't taken to make his pizza until the food we ordered from the kitchen arrived - a definite disconnect between the kitchen and the wait staff. Our waitress worked hard to accommodate the issues but it was hopeless.
The restaurant was severely understaffed. Nearly every patron had to track down waitstaff for even basic levels of service. It seems that Colonial Williamsburg has forgotten about checking on the service and quality at this restaurant of theirs. We have never had a problem at any of the taverns in the Colonial area. This experience at their more “modern” restaurant was particularly disappointing.
We went for burgers: they were all great as was the soup
Huzzah is a great restaurant choice for families. It has a relaxing atmosphere and solid menu with nice variety. I ordered the beef brisket, my husband had the pot roast, and my son ordered fish & chips. We all loved our entrees. The meals included biscuits with butter and jelly. Good, friendly service.
We were here n vacation. Nice easy dinner with our kids. They lived the make your own pizza
Nice atmosphere within Colonial Williamsburg and excellent pizza!
Everyone in our dinner party got sick after eating here!!!
Good place for kids. But very loud and crowded. Had reservations and they said they didn’t have a table and would have to talk to the manager. Suddenly they found a table for us. I had these reservations for over a week so I was a bit annoyed. However the food was good as well as the service.
The last time we went to Huzzah’s was before the recent menu change. We were disappointed they no longer serve bar-b-que, French fried onion rings or coleslaw, as they were outstanding on our last visit. We had the brisket sandwich and it was not only tough, but had an unacceptable amount of fat. Sorry, but we won’t be returning.
It was great!! Great food,Great atmosphere, great service!
Would not accept my reservation.
Great place for family get-togethers when on a trip. Informal, casual and friendly atmosphere made for comfortable dining. Great service by our waitress.
Good value for the meal. Very kid friendly. Reservations recommended.
Huzzah’s Eatery is rated 4.1 stars by 233 OpenTable diners.
Yes, you can generally book this restaurant by choosing the date, time and party size on OpenTable. Due to local restrictions, this restaurant may not be accepting reservations at the moment.
