We were visiting Charleston and knew we had to get to Husk. It turned out to be even better than we could have expected. All the food was fantastic and the service we got was outstanding!!
Amazing food and atmosphere. We kept a very late reservation just for a chance to try this place, and we were not disappointed. Everything from the cocktails to dessert was memorable.
This was our second time here - the first time being for Brunch two years ago. This time we came for a dinner date and it was a complete waste of money. Every dish was small and cold. When we declined to order entrees because of the food thus far, the waiter openly expressed his disappointment. It was awkward. Never again.
Celebrating our daughter’s graduation from nursing school. Perfect setting and wonderful food. Service and ambiance were both stellar
We were very satisfied with the service and food at Husk. However, when I made a reservation and when I checked again today, 6:00 pm inside was the only option. We stayed until 8:00 pm and there were multiple tables available inside and outside. It was very disappointing as we wanted a later reservation. I don’t think we will be using Open Table again and just call the restaurant directly. since I’ve
Phenomenal meal, thoroughly enjoyed the dessert menu and specialty drinks.
Best place in Charleston
The food was amazing, however the service was very slow. We waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated and then another 40 minutes before getting our drinks and ordering food.
Not impressed. No one really enjoyed the food. Pimento cheese on homemade benne wafers appetizer- pimento cheese was good, wafers had no flavor. Pork lettuce wraps were fine nothing spectacular. The grilled asparagus appetizer was very tasty. The ladies had grouper but was too salty and I like salt. I didn’t finish it. The cream sauce was too heavy on the horseradish and it was just strange. The guys had the steak - one asked for medium and it came out rare and just had no flavor. “Worst steak ever” he said. Too many other fabulous restaurants in Charleston. Too bad.
Amazing food, service and overall experience. We are foodies and this is a must!
Wonderful! So happy we got to finally eat here! The desert was amazing
Husk is a nice place to go for a new take on southern food. However, being from the south and growing up eating exclusively southern food, it didn’t wow me in any way. For me southern food is rich, filling, and you can feel the passion that went into its creation. Husk has the formula down pat, except the portions are maybe 1/3 of a real southern meal. I regularly pay for $30 entrees so the price isn’t as much the issue. However if I’m eating a dish I grew up having at my grandmother’s, it just doesn’t feel right to leave wanting more given what I just spent. For anyone who didn’t grow up on southern cuisine Husk is likely a real gem. For me, it didn’t deliver in terms of value.
This is the second Husk location I've visited and just like the wonderful Nashville Husk, Husk Charleston is an excellent dining experience. The ambiance is great, the food is delicious and the service is too notch.
The only drawback was the price which makes it more of a special occasion than something the average person can afford to do often.
If you're willing and able to drop a couple hundred for a dinner for two it's everything you could ask for.
Excellent - a Charleston must do. Flavors were amazing, service was just right... Wish I could go back tonight!
Food was amazing! Atmosphere was on point. Deep whiskey selections. Great experience, we will be back
Amazing food and experience all around. Highly recommend.
Atlantic grouper was delicious I wish the portion of fish protein was larger given the $36 price tag. Left a bit hungry.
Such an awesome meal and great experience! Our waiter was very knowledgeable.
We had dinner in this beautiful historical building on 4/29. After researching, I made reservations here for us over a month ago. Once in Charleston, we passed by on 2 previous evenings and there were lines out the door! We were excited to go!
The young woman who was hosting in front on the porch is very sweet and accommodating. She lead us to our table and we thanked her and sat down.
There was a flat energy and no buzz or vibe about this place. We sat for almost 10 minutes before being offered water by Brenda, our server. We were a bit uncomfortable. This was about our 8th restaurant or bar that we visited, and we had several conversations about how sweet and gracious all the servers and bartenders were. Not this time. We clearly had the feeling she didn’t want to be there.
The food was delicious. I felt badly for the kitchen staff who work so hard to present beautiful plates of delicious food.
⁃The welcome was lovely
⁃The atmosphere was flat, leaving us to wonder if we were missing something
⁃The service was not gracious
⁃The menu does not begin to adequately describe the food that arrives at the table (I suppose we should have asked questions) We did observe other servers volunteering information regarding menu items. Brenda offered nothing to us.
⁃The food we ordered was delicious: pork lettuce wraps, grouper, heritage pork
⁃We had a good discussion with the host and assistant manager on the way out.
⁃Rather than stay for dessert, which I bet would have been very good, we walked over to The Peninsula Grille (recommended by friends) where we were greeted into a lively, vibrant atmosphere and enjoyed their famous Coconut Cake...yum! In fact, we had a pre dinner cocktail nextdoor at 82 Queen, where there was also lots of happy energy...not so much at Husk.
⁃We were so pleased we did that, since we felt completely “hollow” after our filling and expensive meal at Husk.
Felt it was overpriced. Food was good but had better at other places in Charleston.
Honeymoon dinner was awesome!!
First time at Husk and it was amazing! Our waiter gave us wonderful recommendations. A must if your in Charleston!
Our dinner was outstanding and the service was perfect.
Excellent good that is flavorful and perfectly cooked. The menu is always a bit out of the ordinary and a flavorful experience.
Our server was wonderful. Explained the menu very well. Our food was very nice. We had grouper and steak and cornbread. Our only complaint as with a lot of places the music choice It was not a good fit with dining. It could have been quieter. However , I don’t think 70’s Pink Floyd is a good pairing with a gourmet restaurant.
The food was great. The service was great, but I could tell our waiter was a one task at a time server. The ambiance was lacking. We were celebrating our honey moon. Our table was in the back corner of the top room with no background music. I could barely hear music from downstairs but upstairs felt like a hospital cafeteria. I had trouble reserving a dinner time and kept checking back for a cancellation. Finally one popped open and I snatched it. However, when we arrived, there were hardly no one there in the room that we were seated. Maybe downstairs is the better place to be seated during dinner. It seemed more lively as we passed by heading out. Although the food was amazing, my husband said we would not return.
The food was exquisite! The best meal we have had in a long time! Service and atmosphere were also great! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Charleston!
We had an outstanding meal at Husk. The menu descriptions don't do justice to giving you the full picture of the care, quality and creativity that go into the preparation of the food. My chicken main dish was a tender piece of breast meat with a deliciously crispy skin and the freshest spring vegetables I've had in a long time, sitting atop a small pool of very flavorful broth. My husband's pork was an interesting presentation of two types of pork twined together, and though he didn't even share a bite, he said it was also outstanding. Our server was friendly and helpful, which added to the great experience.
If you want to go, make sure you have a reservation. We were there relatively early on a Tuesday night and there was a crowd out front waiting for tables as well as several parties we heard turned away because no more reservations were available.
This place lives up to its reputation for excellence.
We wouldn’t think of visiting Charleston and not eating at Husk. The food and service are always excellent. The food creative, the service friendly and professional. Even the plague has not diminished the experience. Go. Eat. Repeat.
Best food and service! Very highly recommend
Everything about Husk was exceptional. The restaurant itself, inside and out, is a wonderfully maintained late 19th century property. It’s a feast for the eyes. The service was excellent. Will, our server, was friendly and very attentive. Service done well without the pretentiousness. Cocktails were delicious. The food was outstanding. We had several items for each course. Every one of them was done superbly. We will most certainly be back the next time we’re superb.
Husk was absolutely delicious. Elevated Southern cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere.
Excellent meal! Deliciously prepared. Can’t wait to go back
One of the best restaurant experiences we ever had !
good food and service, but overall overrated restaurant
Excellent food, drink and service in a very nice patio setting.
Amazing food, must try in Charleston
My husband and I went for Sunday brunch and started with the most delicious mimosas! We then shared the burrata with salsa verde and I have never tasted a dish so wonderful before. I got the biscuit with bacon and my husband got the fried chicken. Hands down our best Sunday brunch experience ever. Beautiful restaurant, great service and excellent food.
