Centrally located in historic downtown Charleston, Husk transforms the essence of Southern food.Led by Chef/Partner Sean Brock and Executive Chef Travis Grimes the kitchen reinterprets the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that begins in the rediscovery of heirloom products and redefines what it means to cook and eat in Charleston. At Husk, there are some rules about what can go on the plate – if it doesn’t come from the South, it’s not coming through the door. The restaurant is as casual as it is chic, evoking a way of life centered on seasonality and the grand traditions of Charleston life. It is a neighborhood gathering place for friends, and a destination dining spot for travelers, with a little bite of the South for everyone’s palates.

Husk represents all that is good in the world of food. With classic southern dishes and fresh, high quality, local ingredients, Husk serves up the finest in American South cuisine. I’ve been to both the Nashville and Charleston locations, and Husk is a must every time I visit. Don’t miss this place. I have ordered from all over their intriguing menu and have been excited about every dish. Also - they make a mean menu of craft cocktails. Friendly service, fine southern food, a standout. Come hungry and leave happy.

Husk for lunch is a great experience. Soul food with focus on the ingredients and perfect preparation. Servers are knowledgeable and passionate. Embered Wings with Cheerwine Glaze, Shrimp and Grits, Pork Belly stew, and cast iron cornbread were all fantastic. The bourbon flight pairs nicely, or try the homemade ginger beer. Great time!

I did t like the food at all. The atmosphere and service was much better than the food for sure! I was really disappointed with the food.

I was recommended Husk from a friend and decided to go on a week night. Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable and courteous. The reason for the three star review was due to the atmosphere. The dining room was extremely smoky. It seemed like the kitchens ventilation failed or something. Our clothes smelt like a “grill/bonfire” the rest of the evening. Food was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly to order and the cornbread was worth every penny.

We went for the first time for lunch on Valentine's Day! Being local, we've heard a lot about the restaurant and it lived up to the hype. We definitely will return.
