Centrally located in historic downtown Charleston, Husk transforms the essence of Southern food.Led by Chef/Partner Sean Brock and Executive Chef Travis Grimes the kitchen reinterprets the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that begins in the rediscovery of heirloom products and redefines what it means to cook and eat in Charleston. At Husk, there are some rules about what can go on the plate – if it doesn’t come from the South, it’s not coming through the door. The restaurant is as casual as it is chic, evoking a way of life centered on seasonality and the grand traditions of Charleston life. It is a neighborhood gathering place for friends, and a destination dining spot for travelers, with a little bite of the South for everyone’s palates.

Everything was perfect. My husband and I met my parents in Charleston for a short get away. We were told that Husk was one of the restaurants not to miss! We weren’t disappointed.

The food here is AMAZING. My husband and I will definitely be coming back here again. Loved the whole atmosphere. We had a great time! Would highly recommend the wings and the pimento cheese appetizer!!

Simple, classic menu items that are taken to the next level. Overall, everything lived up to the hype. Off the lunch menu we ordered the pimento cheese crostini (amazing), pig's ear lettuce wraps (excellent), fried pickles (very good)and smoked brisket sandwich. Brisket sandwich was the only thing we wouldn't order again, it read well on the menu and was executed nicely, but wasn't as refined as the other dishes. We would rather have had more apps instead. Bloody Mary's were the best we have ever had! Highly recommend these!

I thought the food was under seasoned and I’m afraid we might have caught this place at a time when they are resting on their laurels.

We were lucky enough to score reservations when visiting Charleston and I will say that Husk is a must eat place! The food was pretty delicious. We got the cornbread which was just ok, ours was a little burnt. We also got the pig ear lettuce wraps, which had great flavor but the crunch of the pig ears was really grossing me out (totally just me because I had never had pig ears). I had the shrimp and grits which were amazing!! And my husband had the butchers sandwich that had ham and brisket—DELISH!! The local beer, Boy King IPA is a must get if you are into IPAs. Overall, it was a beautiful spot, not too expensive and their menu is always changing.

Was not at all convinced this southern gem would live up to all the hype it has received. I was wrong! It was a divine way to spend in afternoon. We scored a balcony table outdoors on a unusually warm winter afternoon, sipped playful cocktails and thoughtfully selected wine. Normally not a fan of pimento cheese, but this was a standout. Salty and delicious!
Shrimp and grits , the best I have ever tasted, don't even think about sharing it, you want want to waste a spoonful! Fried chicken was crunchy and moist, spiced to perfection.
Service was exceptional, thanks for the wonderful southern hospitality!

Husk represents all that is good in the world of food. With classic southern dishes and fresh, high quality, local ingredients, Husk serves up the finest in American South cuisine. I’ve been to both the Nashville and Charleston locations, and Husk is a must every time I visit. Don’t miss this place. I have ordered from all over their intriguing menu and have been excited about every dish. Also - they make a mean menu of craft cocktails. Friendly service, fine southern food, a standout. Come hungry and leave happy.

Husk for lunch is a great experience. Soul food with focus on the ingredients and perfect preparation. Servers are knowledgeable and passionate. Embered Wings with Cheerwine Glaze, Shrimp and Grits, Pork Belly stew, and cast iron cornbread were all fantastic. The bourbon flight pairs nicely, or try the homemade ginger beer. Great time!

We were visiting Charleston for the first time...our daughter said the Hamburger at Husk was a must while we were there. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday. Food was delicious! Would definitely recommend to others.
