Fantastic experience. Porch seating a must., so if you can try and sit there.
Traveling with a stop in Charleston.
Wonderful service. Great food that’s not the usual run of the mill fare.
Great food!!! Best cheeseburger I’ve ever had! Beautiful atmosphere!
I am sure at one time Husk was an exceptional dining experience. However, our group of four found the staff to be lackluster - no energy and certainly not that happy to serve us. The food was interesting - fish and chicken prepared well. However, all of our vegetables were undercooked - on the verge of raw. This included white beans, potatoes and sweet potatoes. We did not find this to be one of the best restaurants in Charleston and will not return.
Our dinner was spectacular. We began with fire roasted oysters on the half shell with pepper mash. A little spicy but wonderfully prepared. I had snapper in heirloom pepper sauce with wonderful vegetables. Diane had pasta in whey broth with ham. We finished with house made orange bourbon ice cream and peanut butter cookies. It was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend Husk.
Great service and tasty food. From the complimentary bread to the entrees, cornbread, and desserts, everything was a pleasure. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I loved the space, the restaurant was an old house and tables had plenty of space in between and on the table. Would love to return!
Great food in a great space.
Great meal at Husk. Ask your server for suggestions and you cannot go wrong. Local Southern cuisine with great combinations of flavors!
Waiter very dry and not friendly. Food is a ‘small plates’ type menu
My expectations were very high when I made the reservations, I’ve read, watched programs, heard from friends how tremendous Husk was and it truly lived up to its reputation!
The VERY limited menu is not attractive therefore 3 out of 4 dinners were very disappointed and 1 hardly ate. No discount was offered and the waiter was a bit much when asked about substitutes, “no” was his response.
NEVER WILL RETURN OR RECOMMEND. Open Table should remove them.
Great meal, lovely old building. Husk was recommended to us and it did not disappoint.
From the moment we stepping into Husk, we knew we would have an amazing experience. The host seated us promptly in an understated yet tasteful dining area, and we were greeted by Floyd, our attentive, knowledgeable and communicative server. The real star was our meal, which did exactly as expected: featured locally sourced low country ingredients in a heightened and non-pretentious way. We left feeling satisfied and paid less for the meal than some other less-satisfying lunches and dinners. Needless to say, we will visit anytime we are in the area and tell our friends to do the same. Bravo and thank you, Husk!
Such a beautiful and delicious dining experience in an incredible old mansion. The food and service are perfect.
Our reservations at Husk were made right along with our flights to ensure we were able get in and they did not disappoint! Service was impeccable. My husband had the steak and I had the Heritage Pork. It was the stuff of culinary dreams as we knew it would be. Thank you for another fabulous experience!! We will be back!
Limited menu with plates that were just mediocre. Don’t know what all the fuss is about.
Great and interesting fresh twist for local cuisine.....make a reservation.....service excellent at lunch
We were there to celebrate our sister’s birthday. We chose Husk as it was recommended in Travel Condé Nast. While the ambience and individualized menu exceeded our expectations, the service and food was underwhelming. For example, we ordered ice tea. Our waitress told us they were unfortunately out of ice tea. How could a Charleston restaurant be out of ice tea? Another miss was their fried chicken. We were hoping for a traditional buttermilk flavored fried chicken. Sadly it was smothered with Old Bay seasoning. They should check out how Founding Farmers makes fried chicken. Finally service - our waitress started off well then disappeared leaving our glasses empty. Not good when our tastebuds needed a wash from the old bay. Husk was nice on the outside but empty in flavor and service.
Really lovely restaurant with beautiful preparation of local resources, impeccable service in a beautiful space. We enjoyed our meals (catfish and steak). I would give a 5 star but the meat was (surprisingly) a bit tough and it was served with about one tablespoon or less of oyster mushrooms. It was still good, just not a 5 star meal. The catfish was perfect as were the sides on each entree. We also enjoyed a lovely apple crisp - one of the best I have ever had. Wine was also very nice. Definitely will be back.
Reviews don’t do this place’s food justice. Simply outstanding in every respect - ingredients, preparation, imagination, deliciousness! Everyone should experience this place.
The corn bread was very dry, the pimento cheese app reminded me of cheese wiz on crackers, pork entree seemed to be the leftover pieces put together to form a meat loaf of sorts. The ham and pickles were the best part.
Best meal we experienced on our vacation in Charleston by far!
One of my favorites during our trip to Charleston! Definitely a must!
Shrimp and Grits, out of this world delicious. We loved everything we had and really enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Most memorable from our weekend getaway to Charleston!
Shrimp and grits were delicious. Pimento crostini also great. Fried chicken wasn't advertised to be spicy, but it definitely was. Not something for someone with GERD. Menu changes quite frequently from what I understand and is based upon what is most available from their suppliers which are only in Southern US states. Wine menu was better than High Cotton's but the wine menu award of the week went to Grill 225.
Terrific locavore concept with even better execution. Energetic dining room with a varied clientele that seemed to be enjoying the original dishes. This location is significantly different decor and approach compared to two other Husk locations we have visited. Hard to pick a favorite one but would rank all very high.
Outstanding experience! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful and Scott and the rest of staff were amazing!!
Every aspect of this restaurant was excellent
Amazing cocktails; delicious, thought provoking food! Highly recommend as a must try, even just for a leisurely lunch.
Husk continues to shine and prove its remarkable reputation. Well worth a visit.
Our cheeseburger was very disappointing - the fries looked nothing like the order of same of the table next to us
AMAZING! If you are headed to Charleston, eating at Husk is a must. The food is amazing, the atmosphere, perfectly Southern and the service is spot on. Definitely add this spot to your list of can't miss when visiting.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Still dreaming about the Oysters - also the best I've ever had. Our service was incredible and the venue is beautiful. My husband and I may go back to Charleston just so we can go to Husk again!
Shrimp and grits not hot. Sandwich yummy but too much salt on fries. Will be our last visit.
There were three of us and we decided to do all appetizers, to get a taste of everything. The quail was a huge hit. The food was all excellent and service top notch!
We first learned of Husk while touring the Willett Distillery in 2018 and seeing the country ham hanging in one of the rick houses, so we just had to make the visit on our recent trip down south. The restaurant exceeded all expectations from the moment we walked in. The locally sourced food was magnificently presented and prepared to perfection. Our server, Tanya, was incredibly knowledgeable with the evening's menu, eloquently describing the flavors, characteristics, and preparation of the food. Dinner at Husk was one of the highlights of our journey.
Food was great and the service was fantastic! We will certainly come back.
