Good atmosphere and service but food too pricey and portions are very little
We were able to eat outside under a propane heater. Our waiter was great and the food was excellent.
My husband and I love to cook and really enjoy dining out. So a visit to Husk was a must when we visited Charleston over the weekend. Our meals did not disappoint. We look forward to our next visit to Husk.
After high expectations we had a below average experience food was average.
Really lovely top quality meal. Would happily go back
Great spacing of tables, felt safe.
Had drinks in Husk Bar. Favorite bar in Charleston with best selection of bourbon!
Service was excellent, food was ok. Have been there before when it was awesome but this one was ok. This is still on our faves list but this one was not best showing.
Incredible in every way. Leyland the bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. Roasted Oysters were amazing. Incredible bourbon selection.
Second time eating at Husk, food and service were terrific, from app to dessert, we will be back.
Second time here. Was looking forward to shrimp and Grits but they did not have it on the menu. I settled for cat-fish and grits...... fish was heavily fried.
Restaurant was not crowded at all, waiter seemed to push us a little.
We ate at several top restaurants on our Charleston and Savannah getaway and Husk was the biggest disappointment. Service was cold and rushed. The food lacked soul. On the night we were there, it felt like they were living off their past glory. It felt like a tourist trap.
FTW, Circa 1886 was our best experience in Charleston. Revival would be #2.
Husk has traditionally been one of your favorites, but this visit was very disappointing. Service was extremely poorly timed, food overcooked and served lukewarm. It has changed considerably in its quality.
Reserved a table in the bar
Loved the seating arrangement
Never felt rushed
The appetizer was a pimento cheese platter that was perfect for a start and not to filling for an appetizer
Each meal was a perfect portion and so full of flavor!!
Drinks and wine spot on!
Jeremy was an excellent server and paced our evening just right!
Not sure what the other part of the restaurant is like but we’d definitely book here again and again!
The patio was 46 when seated and the heaters were placed so far from tables so worthless. One could should easily move the heaters but were not allowed. Hard to enjoy the warm terrific food when it gets cold that quickly.
Food speaks for itself as sublime.
This is a must stop when visiting Charleston. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.
Food and service was top notch! Can’t wait to come back!
Our favorite restaurant in Charleston. Always something new and exciting on the menu
Food was great as usual, but their menu hasn't really changed much at all over the past few years and kind of lacks some excitement.
Service was very unenthusiastic this time around with not much passion about the food. No bread service seems like a pandemic cost-cutting measure as plenty of CHS restaurants are still doing it.
I just wonder if this is the beginning of Husk's downward slide without Brock and it's just getting by on reputation alone. Not happening yet as the quality is still very good, but wouldn't be surprised if other area places surpass it very soon.
Great food and atmosphere. Services was excellent. We will be back!
Husk has been my favorite restaurant of all time and this visit was no exception. They continue to innovate while bringing back the occasional favorite. The food is always prepared perfectly and portions are spot on. The servers also know their product well and eloquently provide guidance and insight into each and every element of the menu that sparks your fancy. After 10 years, I've never been let down by this establishment and look forward to the next visit as soon as the last has ended.
Had my birthday here! So good! Great staff! Food was so good!
Absolutely delicious! A treat for sure. From the grilled oysters to the pecan tart, every bite was one to savor. We will be back!! Thank you to the lovely staff who keep such an incredible dining experience going
My salad was amazing and my husband's dinner was delicious. I just wish they had a vegetarian option. I did not care for vegetables I was given but I would still go there again.
As a Black couple, with a reservation, we arrived immediately before a party of 4 Caucasians, only to be seated after that party by restaurant representative #1. We were approached by restaurant representative #2 who revealed that it was the second day on the job for #1.
Whether or not this was true, the optics did not look good, irrespective of the difference of the races. They were made worse by the racial differences.
My salad was good but I guess we were there on a night the menu did not suit our taste. I ordered the pork but was not expecting pork belly.
I eat an anti-inflammatory diet, clean foods, etc. My husband enjoys eating and has no allergies or restrictions. Husk was amazing for both of us! The server, Vilda, is a nutrition health coach so she 100% was a gift for anyone like me. The creative chef was able to put together the foods I could eat to create a delicious, excellent meal. The outside seating was spacious, comfortable, welcoming and warm with the outside heaters. (It was mid January and a bit chilly). If we had been in Charleston longer, we would've eaten dinner here every day!
Had heard about Husk many times but had never been able to eat there. It did not disappoint. Everything was top notch. Creative and wonderfully prepared plates, professional but friendly service, and top notch cocktails. Highly recommended.
Limited menu. Didn't offer any bread with meal. Had to purchase cornbread in a pan to have bread with dinner. Limited salads. Service was quick, and what we ordered was good, but atmosphere was plain. We were finished with our meal before we finished with the first glass of wine. OK, but not a memorable experience.
The food was horrible. The oyster arrived to the table nearly ice cold (wood-fired oysters). The entrees (shrimp and catfish) were terrible. The portion was three (3) small shrimp, a couple of pieces of overcooked sausage, and some mushy dumplings. Horrible. The fried catfish was severely under seasoned. Both entrees arrived barely lukewarm. The pecan tart tasted stale and had no pecan flavor at all. The chocolate chess pie was good. The best part of the meal was the well made Manhattan I enjoyed as a pre-dinner cocktail. I am so disappointed in Husk. A few years ago, we had a great meal at this location. Since then, we've eaten at the Savannah location (terrible food and service) for lunch, and now this meal in Charleston. They will not stay in business long with this sort of service, which is a shame because the original idea of true farm to table cooking, and Sean Brock's creativity, was once an exciting concept.
Food was literally indescribable! The flavors of each dish were so exquisitely combined that everything worked perfectly. This place more than exceeded our high expectations.
What a great experience. From a quick check-in, a fantastic waiter, stellar food, and great wine selection, it’s hard to beat. We will be going again tomorrow.
Absolutely amazing food and service. Our waiter was extremely nice and knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Every plate he recommended was delicious
Excellent meal! Appreciate the forward-thinking Southern food and hospitality!
I have lived in the area for many years and just now have finally made it a point to eat at Husk for my birthday. I ordered a traditional birthday dinner for me which was only on the "secret" menu. A cheeseburger I had read about somewhere. What can I say, that's my thing, a fancy restaurant and try out different burgers to see who does it right. Let's face it, you can't make a good hamburger then the rest of the menu is probably not good either. Anyway, back to the point... Husk is a must go to place! It was fantastic from arrival through departure. The food was excellent, the ambiance was very nice and service was spot on and very friendly. I have tried some local burger favorites and people may say what the hell are you eating a burger for in a place like this.... Let me say if you don't try it at least once, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! It was fantastic! Best one yet. Thank you for sharing this "secret" menu item with me and all of the other sides and desert was just awesome!
The corn bread was a little bland. Could have used a little more salt sugar and ummpphh
It’s a shame that this institution is a imply extracting what’s left of Sean Brock’s legacy. I typically say nothing if nothing nice. But don’t waste your time or money. I’ve made Blue Apron meals with better flavor profiles and execution. There are many (many!) Fabulous restaurants in Charleston - Husk is no longer one of them. The heart of Husk has moved on. To boot, the staff - a bunch of frat boys and girls who don’t take food seriously and think they’re cool because they work at Husk. It felt like a glorified Cheesecake Factory, not a game changer for southern cuisine.
Second time in a week. One of my favorite restaurants in America. Period.
Wonderful dinner. Food, ambiance & service was superb.
Good food good service. Yes they are serious about social distancing
