The food was outstanding, surpassed expectations. The restaurant is beautiful, adds to the character of the city.
We came from Jackson, Wy and we just had to try Husk. The drinks were excellent! especially the coffee and the manhattan, the food however was a bit bland. we got the red shrimp and dumpling, the shrimp was good and the dumpling was spectacular but the overall dish was just okay.
Food was good but not stellar. Environment and service were outstanding.
Excellent food and service. A must visit place In Charleston.
We have been here three times trying to like this restaurant. Thought with the new chef it would be different but it was just ok. Can’t believe this is best Charleston has to offer. I would go to Circa 1886 fir an amazing romantic evening and eat outside !
A favourite when I’m in Charleston. Lunch did not disappoint and strict observation of covid protocols was reassuring.
The food was excellent... The hostess could be a little better with her attitude and professionalism. She wasn’t accommodating and had an attitude about her...
We’d tried to get dinner reservations but they were unfortunately at capacity. We then decided try the brunch and thankfully got in. It was well worth the attempts. Everything was impeccable. Plan ahead and make this a must do.
Not as good as last time! Disappointed in the food.
This is a Charleston classic, started by Sean Brock. His founding partner is now Exec Chef and has maintained the Southern sensibility while expanding the range of the offerings. It is even better than before, in my opinion. We had a wonderful experience!
Great place! Definitely clean and social distancing enforced, delicious food and amazing service
Nice atmosphere and great food. A good choice for your first night in Charleston.
Wonderful dinner and venue!!! Totally enjoyable dinner!!!!!
Food was good are server was excellent And explained The food was very good . very disappointing in the oyster appetizer.
Great food and great experience. Even though Brock is gone the kitchen is still putting out fantastic modern southern food.
Thank you so much for such an amazing meal. The food, service and the atmosphere were all top notch! Thanks so much for all your hard work. Can’t wait to return !
The food was more eclectic than we thought. But it was prepared well.
Incredible dining (and drinking) experience! The food was a 10/10, service was a 10/10 and the ambience is a 10/10. Justin, the bar manager was very very knowledgeable about everything from the history of the building, recommendations of things to do and places to see in Charleston and his bourbon knowledge is second to none. My girlfriend says he makes the best Cosmo south of NYC.
Get the fried chicken, you will not be disappointed! It’s not on the main menu, but is on the takeout menu. Ask for their homemade hot sauce and drizzle it and some honey on top. Hands down the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.
We are very glad you enjoyed your experience with us. Justin takes his bourbon very seriously as you found out. Can't wait to have you join us again. Cheers!
Fantastic food. Best we had in Charleston.
The best friend chicken in Charleston!
Food was good but portions are small. Shrimp dish was very good but a bit salty foe the average person. Waitress was ok but didn’t add to the experience. Needed music or something inside wasn’t the best ambience. Cute outside place though!
Yummy southern food!
Absolutely phenomenal food and service but the air conditioner constantly blowing on us made it hard to truly enjoy the meal. The 6 tables upstairs were all visibly uncomfortable with the temperature...
Amazing service and the food was AWESOME.
Excellent all around. Server was stellar-Her name started with a V (sorry the rest isn’t being recalled at the moment!).
Steamed us towards starting with the scrumptious smoked Oysters then the Quail and Chicken as entrees.. Every bite and flavor found within was most pleasing.
MUST mention the chocolate cake that was accompanied with an adorable but slight scoop of vanilla ice cream that we spoon battled each bite for! Seriously !!!!
Will try to make Husk a part of every Charleston trip for this pleasing and enjoyable experience.
Best kielbasa we’ve ever had! The lavender sage ice cream was also amazing!
Food and service were excellent. Tables were socially distanced so the noise level was low.
This was our second time at Husk. The food was prepared and tasted fantastic. The service was great! I really like the atmosphere. It’s cozy and comfortable being in an old house.
Lovely dining experience! The cornbread is delectable and the catfish dish was a perfect harmony of flavors. We would definitely dine again!
If I were simply rating the service, I would give Husk 5 stars across the board - the service was excellent! I also really enjoyed the ambiance and the overall experience. However, the food itself really fell flat for me. The emphasis on local/heirloom ingredient is great, but for the price, I was expecting more innovative flavors and better presentation. I would consider returning to try their cocktails, but the dinner menu items we had here were disappointing.
Amazing!! Lived up to the hype. Most amazing flavors...cannot wait to come back. Thank you.
We have been to Husk several times in the past year. This time was a disappointment! We had three different entrees and all three were: lacking in flavor, small portions, and way over priced! The catfish particularly was substandard! We, a party of 4, all left saying, “Why did we eat there when there are so many good restaurants in Charleston!”
Everything here was amazing. We had the pork ears and did not expect to like it as much as we did. The catfish and pimento dip were amazing as well
Pretty disappointing - late to greet us, no offer to keep white wine chilled until we drank half of it (I actually prefer no to chill it, but this is a basic step of service), forgot our appetizers, didn't check on us once during the meal except to drop food off, snapper overcooked, no apology or attempt to turn our experience around. Really let us down as it was our first dinner in town after an 8 hour drive.
The food was good, but nothing to write home about.
Excellent food, excellent experience. Highly recommend!
Loved everything about our time at this restaurant.
