Absolutely incredible. A perfectly explosive combination of ingredients and textures that left us craving more.
The food was amazing, started with the Skillet Cornbread and Cornbread Panzanella, both excellent! Had the Chili Glazed Snapper that was a delicious combo of sweet and spicy with the blackberries and heirloom peppers that look like green beans. For dessert, the gluten free Chocolate Cake and the Apple Pie with Rosemary Ice Cream. The service, ambiance and energy were perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant while in Charleston!
We cam here because we heard so much about the hamburgers, we loved the restaurant and the burger was great, but not so good that I could call it the best. You can get as good a burger for for less money, between the burger and parking cost we will have to have company that wants to try it before come again. Overall we are glad we tried it.
Got lucky getting a reservation just a few days out of visiting Charleston. Have visited the bar a few years ago always wanted to have dinner. Outstanding meal, tried pig ears for the first time, they were great. The shrimp and grits were awesome too. Robbie our server was wonderful, will return when I am back in the area.
We went for brunch on our honeymoon trip and both the service and food were excellent! The restaurant itself was beautiful, as well. We will definitely be back to try dinner!
One of the best meals we’ve ever had! Southern food done absolutely right. Nothing was wrong with this meal and everything was right. We will definitely be back every time we’re in Charleston.
A must if you are visiting Charleston! Amazing food.
Loved the shrimp and grits but the chicken was very salty.
I've been wanting to eat at this restaurant for a while and I was not disappointed. Excellent
The meal was very good. Service started a little slow. Took way too long to get our drinks. As the evening progressed, things improved.
The dinner was amazing.....everything from the craft cocktails to the food!
Did not disappoint. Had reservations for 3 months.
Everything was excellent. However, I would have liked to have seen them utilize their outdoor space more.
Our waitress was outstanding! The food was amazing - we ate every last morsel from the appetizers to entree and of course the dessert! The restaurant has customer service down to a tee and I would go back there in a minute!
Food was excellent. The pig ears were overfried, as it it was too hard. Beyond crispy. Should have a nice balance of crunch and chew but it was definitely too overfried. Hard to crack thru on a bite. Everything else was superb food wise.
The interior A/C was freezing. Overdid it as well.
For indoor dining, with all the covid concerns should have opened up its numerous windows.
In times like this, being overly cautious for its employees and diners would have made it more relaxing to dine indoors. Better safe than sorry.
Husks food was spectacular from beginning to end. Such a diverse menu with fun ingredients that bring incredible flavors to life. Everything we had was amazing and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!
Not really socially distanced.
I appreciate fast service but from the time we sat down, we had cocktails, 2 starters and our entree in 25 min...
It almost felt rushed though our server was great
From the beautiful building to the amazing food we had a wonderful experience. Our server was top notch and made some wonderful recommendations. Can’t wait to go back and see what’s new since the menu changes.
Special trip to Charleston, the experience at Husk was wonderful! The service was perfect, food intriguing & atmosphere was wonderful!
Husk was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary and had a wonderful time. The food was outstanding! We had the pimiento cheese, Shrimp and grits, the TN steak, and chocolate cake for dessert; all of which were delicious. Our server was also very attentive and kind. She made the experience even better! Overall, it was the best meal we had on our trip to Charleston!
Our first trip to CHS. We were referred to Husk by our hotel. First, it’s in an old what looks like used to be a house. It’s very clean and maintained well. And Very cute!! We made reservations the day prior and could only get in at 5 pm. Early, but we still went. Our waiter was attentive and helpful with all of my questions regarding the menu. Food was very good. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were different....not bad. Just....different than what I’m used to. I’m from Louisiana and used to a thicker consistency. It was difficult to tell that they were grits. But! They were tasty and I enjoyed my dish very much. My hubby had the catfish And enjoyed it, but was left still hungry after he was done. We will go back!
We especially appreciated the gluten free options as both my sister and I have celiac disease. The food was just mind-blowingly good! Thank you!
Outstanding combinations of flavors in each course. An enjoyable meal
Great stop for honeymoon! Would recommend the pork and the fried catfish.
Went for her birthday weekend and they didn’t disappoint. Great food, great drinks, great service. Highly recommend!!
We had a fantastic meal at Husk. Our server was attentive and offered great recommendations. Every single aspect of the meal was delicious and done very thoughtfully. The standouts were the pimento cheese appetizer and the snapper. Both had incredible flavor and were amazing! The cocktails were also delicious and reasonably priced. We had the best seat in the house out in the corner of the upstairs porch, however inside felt like it had a bit less ambience- a bit dimly lit and didn't match the quality southern food vibes.
My favorite place to eat when visiting Charleston. Hands down everything about this place is amazing!!!!
Sorry, but does not live up to the hype. Perhaps there was a time it did. In a city full of outstanding culinary options, Husk was ok. Compared to the pedestrian, of course Husk shines. Service was ok, not great. The food inventive, but not groundbreaking. I hate actually giving this review, because there is nothing wrong with Husk. Good should have been great.
Excellent food, service, atmosphere and Covid-19 safety protocols. Would highly recommend for authentic southern style cuisine when visiting Charleston.
The first time we had brunch at HUSK, over a year ago, my husband and I agreed it was the best brunch we'd ever had since moving to Charleston. So when we took a friend who was visiting from San Antonio to eat there this past Sunday, we mistakenly 'oversold' it to him. We were both quite disappointed to discover our server was not proactive about explaining the menu, and he did not seem to know the menu as well as we would hope, we had to call him over several times instead of him anticipating our needs (which is what you expect for HUSK's prices). We couldn't believe they were blaring heavy metal music (you heard me right!) on the overhead speakers. We knew the menu would be limited, but this time the choices were almost all too quirky for brunch (more suited to dinner), so most of us ordered the biscuits or coffee cake for apps and the french toast for mains. One person in our party had the good sense to order a side of bacon (to ensure he had some protein in his meal), except it was so tough and chewy, he didn't eat much nor did the rest of us when he offered it. We all walked out of there feeling ill from the carbohydrate/sugar high. Don't get me wrong, the food and drinks were delicious, but for those prices I expect more. I'll give HUSK another try for dinner, but not brunch-there are too many other great places to choose from.
I really wanted to like Husk, but was a little underwhelmed. Maybe it was the Sunday brunch timing? The menu was short (which is fine), but there seemed to be little to do to accommodate my food allergy; my burger was good though, as was the service. I also thought I had made a reservation for outdoor seating, but we were seated indoors, again fine, but not what I was anticipating. I always consider my entire dining experience, and wish I could have given more stars in this review. It was my first time in Charleston, and I always look for a gem to recommend. Will have to keep searching!
What an incredible brunch experience!! The food was absolutely amazing and the drinks were divine!!
I read lots of reviews about Husk before making a reservation for our 17th Anniversary. I was expecting something really great. Unfortunately I can not say that it lived up to that expectation. The menu was very limited and what was on the menu was very unusual and in many cases I did not even know what it was and I have eaten all over the world. The meal I ordered was my least favorite meal in the 4 days we ate all over the place in Charleston. I actually never finished eating it. The decor was very plain in the room we were in. Our waiter was nice but not overly friendly, and he did not come back to our table even once after we got our food until we were done. We only had one $10 alcoholic drink and an $8 appetizer and 2 entrees and the bill was $113.00, which was a bit overpriced for a meal that was just so so. I recommend going to 82 Queen - better food and nicer staff.
Our waiter was excellent and the food tasted fabulous. The reason I did one less star is we had seen their cornbread on The Best Thing I Ever Ate. The cornbread we had it Napa at Rutherford Grille was hands down better. My husband had the shrimp & grits, I had the various roots salad and chicken, my daughters had the red snapper and the chicken pasta. Everything was delicious!
Awesome meal and great service!
AMAZING shrimp and grits! A little pricey but a nice treat.
The hostess was not very pleasant upon our arrival and we were asked to wait outside for our table. We ate at several other fine dining establishments while in Charleston but Husk was the only one that required us to wait for our reservation outside. I had the Curry strip steak and it was good, good to perfection. My wife had the catfish and it wasn't anything that you couldn't get for half the price anywhere else. The fish was very strong, as if it wasn't very fresh. The grits with shrimp bits were also extremely strong and took away from the rest of the dish. In comparison with some of the other places that we have dined in Charleston we were very disappointed. It will not be on the list for our next trip.
Birthday celebration dinner for my wife. One of the best dining experiences we have had!
