Husk - Charleston
Great meal at Husk. Ask your server for suggestions and you cannot go wrong. Local Southern cuisine with great combinations of flavors!
Such a beautiful and delicious dining experience in an incredible old mansion. The food and service are perfect.
Really lovely restaurant with beautiful preparation of local resources, impeccable service in a beautiful space. We enjoyed our meals (catfish and steak). I would give a 5 star but the meat was (surprisingly) a bit tough and it was served with about one tablespoon or less of oyster mushrooms. It was still good, just not a 5 star meal. The catfish was perfect as were the sides on each entree. We also enjoyed a lovely apple crisp - one of the best I have ever had. Wine was also very nice. Definitely will be back.
Reviews don’t do this place’s food justice. Simply outstanding in every respect - ingredients, preparation, imagination, deliciousness! Everyone should experience this place.
The corn bread was very dry, the pimento cheese app reminded me of cheese wiz on crackers, pork entree seemed to be the leftover pieces put together to form a meat loaf of sorts. The ham and pickles were the best part.
Best meal we experienced on our vacation in Charleston by far!
One of my favorites during our trip to Charleston! Definitely a must!
Shrimp and grits were delicious. Pimento crostini also great. Fried chicken wasn't advertised to be spicy, but it definitely was. Not something for someone with GERD. Menu changes quite frequently from what I understand and is based upon what is most available from their suppliers which are only in Southern US states. Wine menu was better than High Cotton's but the wine menu award of the week went to Grill 225.
Terrific locavore concept with even better execution. Energetic dining room with a varied clientele that seemed to be enjoying the original dishes. This location is significantly different decor and approach compared to two other Husk locations we have visited. Hard to pick a favorite one but would rank all very high.
Outstanding experience! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful and Scott and the rest of staff were amazing!!
Every aspect of this restaurant was excellent
Amazing cocktails; delicious, thought provoking food! Highly recommend as a must try, even just for a leisurely lunch.
Husk continues to shine and prove its remarkable reputation. Well worth a visit.
Our cheeseburger was very disappointing - the fries looked nothing like the order of same of the table next to us
AMAZING! If you are headed to Charleston, eating at Husk is a must. The food is amazing, the atmosphere, perfectly Southern and the service is spot on. Definitely add this spot to your list of can't miss when visiting.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Still dreaming about the Oysters - also the best I've ever had. Our service was incredible and the venue is beautiful. My husband and I may go back to Charleston just so we can go to Husk again!
Shrimp and grits not hot. Sandwich yummy but too much salt on fries. Will be our last visit.
There were three of us and we decided to do all appetizers, to get a taste of everything. The quail was a huge hit. The food was all excellent and service top notch!
We first learned of Husk while touring the Willett Distillery in 2018 and seeing the country ham hanging in one of the rick houses, so we just had to make the visit on our recent trip down south. The restaurant exceeded all expectations from the moment we walked in. The locally sourced food was magnificently presented and prepared to perfection. Our server, Tanya, was incredibly knowledgeable with the evening's menu, eloquently describing the flavors, characteristics, and preparation of the food. Dinner at Husk was one of the highlights of our journey.
Food was great and the service was fantastic! We will certainly come back.
Food and the service were perfection. All without being too stuffy. Absolutely enjoyable in every way.
I have eaten at Husk Savannah, Nashville, and now Charleston. Maybe I'm just Husk-ed out, but my visit in Charleston left me feeling I need a break from Husk. The fall menu is very heavily pork focused (neither myself or the other diner eat pork) - usually we don't have an issue, but the new fall menu has pork is in EVERYTHING (and I mean everything). It quickly wiped out more than half the menu and left us with only a few "meh" items to choose from. The wines by the glass also left something to be desired, I know specialty cocktails are their thing but even the waiter was not enthused by the wines available. I think the thrill of getting a reservation at Husk was better than the food and experience itself. It was fine, but I never like leaving a $200+ dinner feeling like the experience was just "fine". There are too many other great places to eat in the city - being from out of town, I would tell anyone visiting to skip on their first visit.
Everything was perfectly done and executed. Loved it
I would recommend for the food and atmosphere-was fantastic.
Service was mediocre at best. Not sure why.
Will plan on visiting again when we come back to Charleston as everyone has an occasional bad day
Excellent food & service!
Food is always excellent- our 3rd visit. But we were (politely) rushed through our meal. From being seated to paid and walking out, an hour and 15 minutes. That included ordering dessert, staff left, came back and asked us to choose something else because they were out of it ( it was a 6:45 reservation- how could they run out so soon?). No time at all between courses. This has always been a go-to for us - not anymore. Not a hospitable experience at all.
Food was salty
Wait staff Lucien was very professional however hostess was rude
I made a birthday request for 3 brothers and they totally ignored the request made in Opentable
I am sure there are better places in Charleston that care for their customers
Fantastic service and delicious food - great buzzy atmosphere
Wonderful dining experience. Beautiful, flavorful, unique farm to table cuisine.
We had such a great dinner at Husk. Everything we tried was so unique in flavor- fire roasted oysters, a homemade pasta appetizer , catfish & a pork dish. Would highly recommend if you’re in Charleston. Oh and the cornbread is amazing!
Our dinner at Husk lived up to everyone’s recommendations. This was our last night on our first visit to Charleston for a vacation. Many friends who had traveled there recommended Husk, so we saved it for our last night’s dinner. Our server, Kent, was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. We had fire roasted oysters, duck, and catfish. All were delicious! My cocktail, Fistful of Berries, was SO GOOD! Sadly, we had no room for dessert. I knew about chef Sean Brock, but didn’t realize he had moved on to other ventures. The chef who has taken over is most certainly also a master! Thanks for an amazing dinner!
My husband and I had lunch here during our very first trip to Charleston. It was recommended by several friends and it definitely didn’t disappoint! We started with wings and a salad and then had the fried chicken and chicken fried steak for a main course. Paired with a few local beers, the meal couldn’t have been better. The entire staff was lovely, so kind and accommodating. It really was a lovely lunch and we would absolutely recommend it! Plus, you can’t beat how fresh and local every single ingredient is! Can’t wait to be back!
Food was delicious although quail portion was tiny and my fried steak was a little tough and stringy. The vegetable side dishes could make me a vegetarian because how good they were.
Fantastic food, great service and lovely setting!
Wonderfully accommodating for one of our party with dietary restrictions. Chef made a version of his recipe that was delicious. Service was outstanding.
We loved husk. Great food. Good service. Probably one of the best restaurant in Charleston, together with FIG.
Service was incredibly slow- ordered salads that came right away, but waited almost 45 minutes for our entrees
Ahh, definitely in the top 3 best meals of my life! Everything was delicious and plated so nicely! Highly recommend.
Service was excellent from start to finish with great recommendations from drinks to entrees. The atmosphere was beautiful, and it wasn’t too noisy (just a loud group sitting beside us!). I wish I could say I enjoyed the food more, but it was just okay. The rib appetizer was good, and I had the pork entree but unfortunately couldn’t eat half of it due to the large amount of fat in the dish. Because of that I didn’t really feel it was worthy of the price. Overall we had a nice time and we’ll be back to give it another try!
