    The space at Husk was more refined than we expected. Food was excellent, with wonderful takes on classic southern things. As a fan of basic Southern cuisine, like ham and biscuits and cornbread, I really enjoyed it. My wife a bit less. The restaurant certainly has a reputation that is hard to live up to.

    We had a great experience at Husk. We went to celebrate my husbands birthday. The staff was welcoming and made him feel very special. Our server Randy made excellent menu suggestions and the restaurant atmosphere was lively. The food exceeded our expectations and Husk will be going to the top of our recommendations list for Charleston.

    It was my 2nd visit and the food was truly exceptional. Our server was delightful. The hosts however are unprofessional, arrogant and snooty. I was reminded of NYC in the 90’s where all you got at the door was haughty attitude. We arrived a few minutes early and it took well over 15mn to be seated even though there were plenty of tables open. The line just kept getting longer behind us. At one point, they started to seat us in the downstairs room but then retested back to the host desk where the 2 confeeenxed and scored to send us upstairs. I politely declined and asked to be downstairs (where there 5 unoccupied tables. After huffing and puffing, the host (young male) told us we would have to wait. I gently let him know that it was evident there was plenty of space downraids and we were finally seated. Alas, this was the case at every single establishment we frequented over a 3 day period. Rude hosts and friendly servers. Where is that southern hospitality that had been a mainstay thorughout my years of living in the south? I realize that it is difficult for restaurants to find staff however maybe a basic courtesy training would be welcome. I also do not appreciate being addressed by my first name by a stranger. Hospitality and good manners matter!

    It was worth the wait to get a reservation. Food was high quality and our server was very good. Definitely not your typical table fare. We enjoyed the experience.

    The cheeseburger they had been famous for was delicious but you have to know to ask for it since it’s not on the printed menu. The rest of our food was not particularly memorable. Stick with the cheeseburger.

    The appetizers were yummy, the entree so-so. While the server was friendly and mostly attentive, the service was slow and not well paced. If there was a delay in the kitchen, no problem, please inform us. For the hype and the price, this was a let down. There are plenty of other places and we’ll be checking them out. No need to return to Husk.

    Ate here during our first trip to Charleston and will be making a reservation to come back if we find ourselves in Charleston again! Service was on point and the food was fresh and absolutely delicious!

    We enjoyed the food flavor,potions too small for what we paid . The waitress was good ! someone I think maybe the manger was making his rounds talking to tables he came by ours and just said “cheers” and walked away. We were there celebrating our daughters 35th birthday. The dessert menu did not interest any of us. It would have been nice if someone would have brought a cupcake, piece of cake with at least a candle in it like other restaurants do!!

    Have been to Husk many times and this experience fell very short of expectations. Not sure if it was an off day due to being early January but this was a very average with limited menu.

    Nothing tasted fresh or local. The fried chicken served with a brunch dish was two pieces of fired dark meat and I felt I’ll after. They need to say it’s dark meat on the menu so people who hate it won’t waste their money ordering it then not eat to eat it. Definitely overpriced for what it is.

    Iconic Charleston restaurant, lovely setting, great service. The lamb appetizer and all entrees( pasta, chicken, catfish, huddle fish) were excellent. That being said it’s quite expensive. The bar next door is terrific but also very expensive.

    Jeremy our waiter was excellent. The food , however, was poor. The chef has abandoned flavorful food and instead has elected hot sauce to destroy taste buds. Additionally while waiting I was caused to watch poorly dressed employees going in and out or a poorly maintained service area. The receptionist was cold and not welcoming.

    Great, local dishes with lots of flavor and texture. I’d definitely recommend Husk and look forward to returning! I also loved that they incorporated historic recipes from Charleston.
