Husk - Charleston
This restaurant is so special and so Charleston! Our server was really friendly & knowledgeable about the menu, where the food is sourced and was so accommodating with my pescatarian needs. When i made the reservation, I mentioned it was my anniversary. When we sat at our table, my husband and I were given personalized menus wishing us a happy anniversary. Our waitress also gave us complimentary glasses of cava to toast our anniversary! The food - amazing!!! My husband had ribs to start with, which came with crackling pork rinds. It was so cool how they popped the whole time he was eating them. It made his dish so fun! I started with the octopus and shrimp appetizer, which was surrounded by a salsa verde, which was so flavorful I wished I could eat it every day! It was so bright and flavorful. My entree was wreckfish with rosted veggies, which was perfect. My husband had the TN strip steak which he said was actually bland, however the faro and vegetable side with it made up for the lack of flavor in the steak. For dessert we enjoyed a rhubarb tarte, which was tiny, but very delicious.
Always a special lunch spot for us. Birthdays, holidays or just celebrating another day. Food is amazing! Service is spot on. Cheeseburger is our favorite. Keep up the amazing job everyone!
The food is spectacular! Beginning with the excellent to artful presentation, each bite of the meal was a delightful experience for the taste buds ! You will not be disappointed !
the service wasn’t great. the food was salty. overall husk didn’t live up to all the hype i had heard about it.
Delicious food, good service, and great atmosphere!
Best dining experience in Charleston! Would recommend the pickle juice Bloody Mary, Chicken fried quail and Fried steak for brunch!
Our server Chris was very knowledgeable and everything was delicious
The food at Husk was amazing! The server was extremely knowledgeable about all of the food. The drinks were tasty and proportioned properly. The only knock was that the night we went the a/c was going in and out. Even still, I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone!
Fabulous meal for four friends seeking healthy and delicious foods. The flavor combinations were so interesting and they were amazing. We never got around to ordering an entree. We simply ordered nine of the twelve First Courses offered and shared them. I had been to the bar and patio before and loved those experiences but the main restaurant was fantastic. We will definitely return.
Everything was absolutely delicious!! The fried chicken ranks up there with the best I've ever had!
Our meals at Husk were the best we had our whole trip! The cocktails were phenomenal as well. Will definitely return every trip out there.
The kitchen had a meltdown. Took over an hour to get our entrees. Waiter and Manager were great.
We enjoyed an extraordinary parade of beautifully prepared, inventive, and delicious dishes, cocktails and wines. It was everything we hoped for.
The food and service were fantastic!! We will definitely be back.
Parker was fantastic- our meals (duck, chicken and pork) were memorable! Best oysters we’ve ever had!
The staff at Husk made my husbands birthday special. We’ve been wanting to dine at Husk several times but haven’t been able to get a reservation because it’s so popular. We booked this trip around a reservation I was able to make several months ago and it didn’t disappoint.
Incredible food. Favorite Charleston dinner! Loved the casual, friendly vibe of this place.
Don’t leave Charleston without eating at Husk
We were told by multiple people and publications to try Husk. It ranks as one of the best restaurants in the country, so we were expecting an exceptional experience. We were underwhelmed by the ribs, grouper, and pimento cheese appetizer. The quail leg stood out as unique and tasty. The meal is fairly expensive and we have had more consistently delicious meals in Charleston with great service for a much lower price.
This is definitely one to skip. Swordfish was over cooked to the point of having to send it back. We were told by the server that the cook said he wasn’t happy with the quality of the fish and asked us to select something else. Catfish was cooked correctly but very bland.
Exceptional! Amazing fried chicken.. service exceptional
All around excellence. Relaxed yet elegant surroundings; great food and excellent, experienced service
Excellent food and service! Unique takes on Southern staples. Highly recommend!
Based on recommendations from a great deal of the travel media and how difficult it is to get a reservation we booked this restaurant thinking it would be a highlight dinner. It was our worst meal out of our 9 dinner and lunch outings. We should have taken notice of one very popular travel review site that, like OpenTable, uses up to date customer reviews. They placed Husk considerably below the top 50 which is some drop from the raves they received a few years ago.
Service: Our waiter was way too pushy on the quantity of food to order and somewhat rude when we questioned it. We are used to getting pretty good guidance from our waiter, especially in upscale restaurants where every dish is expensive. We were right in questioning it as it was too much food. Both tables on each side of us served by the same waiter took home very high priced doggy bags.
Food: Maybe it was too much food because it wasn't very good. We had the grilled calamari and quail appetizers, both just OK with the quail being a little better of the two. The grouper for a main was tasteless and sitting in a soup broth maybe to mask the dryness. A side dish of beans highly recommended was hard to even eat.
The steak on the menu sounded too good to pass up—and it was delicious! Our table had pimento and homemade crackers as an app. The person that at our table who doesn’t like pimento ate all of her share. Our server was very helpful and on top of everything we needed. Great dinner.
Good but over rated. Food was just ok. Liked the bar.
We haven’t eaten at Husk for a few years and after having lunch there the other day, I think the food is better than ever.
I didn’t realize the chef has been there since the beginning and manages the day to day operations. No small job. I think he’s very talented.
Neat presentation, large enough proportions, tasted wonderful, and great location!
Very good food - just a bit disappointed that they couldn't tweak the menu much for a pescatarian. But everything we could eat was delicious.
Very limted menu, tiny drinks and pretentious attitude. This restaurant was the low point of an otherwise good experience in Charleston
Very impressive tastes with every bite! Simple menu yet impressive presentation and perfect proportions. The service was wonderful and staff was extremely friendly as well as knowledgable on every level. The Rhubarb tart was amazing! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Looking forward to our next visit.
Visiting Husk was an absolute treat. Eating the food was a downright emotional experience. I'll be back again and again and again!
Tiny portions, under seasoned, and expensive. Very disappointed after all the rave reviews I’ve seen.
Came to Charleston specifically to go to Husk; 55th birthday. I was NOT disappointed. We plan to go again before we leave. Menu changes everyday. So hard to comment. But all four loved their choice! Awesome.
Husk was the most charming and delicious! They truly know how to take local ingredients and Southern classics and make them their own. The service is impeccable, and the atmosphere was just a dream. My husband and I had a late reservation and were seated on the romantic upper level of the porch. Halfway through our time there, the rest of the people cleared out and it felt like we were just chilling at someone's gorgeous Charleston home enjoying one of the best meals of our lives. Will, our waiter, was such a gentleman and so incredibly knowledgable about the menu, ingredients and the cocktails. Everyone deserves to experience an evening at Husk!
My husband and I were excited to finally go to Husk after all these years. We had been to the bar before and enjoyed it, but this was our first time eating at the restaurant. We had a nice time, but overall were not super impressed by the food. It was okay, but not sure we would return.
I’ve been eating here for 7 years straight at least 4 times a year. This was the first time my food was bad. My steak was over cooked. I asked for it rare and it can put well done. I don’t know what happen but it didn’t meet the price I payed for the meal.
Great dinner, not sure what all other reviews are about. We had amazing service, great knowledge or bourbon and overall food. Food was great, Charleston is great! Unless you’re unbelievably picky and high unachievable expectations, you’ll have a great time.
As always, a terrific experience in all regards. Best bar in Charleston and the food is amazing. My wife had the sous vide chicken and it may be the best and most flavorful that we have had. The steak was awesome and a perfect sized proportion. Be sure to get the butter beans side if they offer it.
Husk was a great destination for our anniversary dinner. Did and service were fantastic and they even made a special menu for us. Highly recommend the duck leg confit
