Hurricane Restaurant - Kennebunkport Ratings and Reviews
Great! We came here for dinner and were glad we had a reservation because it was pretty crowded, although emptied out around 8:45-9 pm. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The food was really good and the drinks were as well - we sat looking out at the water which was great. The chocolate mousse was borderline the best we've ever tasted. Would definitely go back.
Overall this place is great, extensive wine list, decent amount of menu options. Oysters were actually very good considering the limited amount of offerings. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their meals, Lobster Chowder and a few salads. I had yellow fin which was not cooked as well as I had hoped, the piece was almost too big for the rareness they advertised. Looking more for seared and not a steak. I would definitely come back and have the chowder and one of the other yummy looking dishes.
Understanding it was Prelude Weekend, but the dinning room was very crowded and our meal, although arriving quickly, was lukewarm. My chicken dish was dry and my husband's tuna was overcooked. The convenience to the tree lighting was the main reason we dined at the Hurricane. The wait staff was attentive, but the food was disappointing.
Outstanding dinner! We have been here for lunch and it was great so we tried dinner. The butternut ravioli and beef tenderloin were very good. The show stopper was the veal chop served over risotto. So tender, cooked perfectly and the best flavor you could savor!
Great food, atmosphere and service. My only complaint is that I called ahead to say we were celebrating a birthday of one of the diners. The person I spoke to said the restaurant would do something but apparently the info was lost and nothing special happened.
Food was extremely good, would have given 5 stars except my Atlantic Salmon had an odd tasting seasoning... others who had the Salmon said it was excellent, so just my taste buds. Other dishes served were Seafood Medley with a pesto sauce that was FANTASTIC. Pumpkin Ravioli was seasonally and very, very good. Onion Soup was different, light on the cheese heavy on the onion.
Desserts were DELICIOUS and large enough for two or three to share. It's priced in line with the location, a resort town. Be sure to give yourself a couple of hours to walk around before or after dinner, town is definitely worth seeing. We will be back!!
