Hunters' Tavern at the Tidewater Inn
The service was excellent, we really felt very special.
The Snapper Soup was absolutely delicious. The soft shell crabs were cooked to perfection and were paired with a delicious corn relish. Desserts were a great end to a wonderful meal.
We were a party of 14 and dined in a private room for lunch. Food and service were delightful. Everyone enjoyed their lunches.
Spent the weekend at the Tidewater Inn for our anniversary. Overall a great experience that I would highly recommend.
The food was EXCELLENT! Everything else was great too.
A really enjoyable evening. Dinner and a cocktail that we’re spot on. The service was perfect, we could chat and not be interrupted. I appreciate service that uses judgement It was a delightful evening with friends highlighted by good service and very good food and drink.
Love the SkipJack bar, the crab cakes & the meatloaf!
Very nice birthday celebration
The food is always good, and the service is pleasant. The only downside is the noise from the bar, but it ends early in the evening.
Some of the best food my husband and I have ever had.
We enjoyed a few different choices at Hunters' Tavern--corn cakes for an appetizer for both of us, Weinersnitzel with spaetzle for me, and short ribs for my partner. Both of us enjoyed our meals and would certainly consider returning here for a meal.
Overall a pleasant experience
Crab cake was delicious
Delicious food, nice spot and the best spicy margarita I've ever had. Yum!
We ate on the patio with a nice quiet atmosphere. Excellent crab cakes, turtle soup and cream of crab soup, service was great
I hosted my top sales people on my team for lunch and they felt pampered!
A great Sunday brunch.
Everything was fantastic! Atmosphere, food, service, variety of food that was offered, and so many gluten free options! It was a real treat to be able to order fried green tomatoes and crab cakes - both of which were gluten free!!! Excellent!!!
We sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful meal
Atmosphere is very nice. The food had excellent flavor, and we enjoyed everything but the calamari which was very salty. We had crab dip, calamari, chicken and waffle, ahi tuna, pork chop, and the petit filet. All were excellent, nicely plated, and perfect portion sizes. The food wasn't hot, but the plates they were served on were. We provided this feedback to our waitress and look forward to our next visit.
Two of us had a lovely meal near the window. My mom had the soft crab special and I had blackened rock fish both of which were delicious Service was attentive, but not intrusive.
My one suggestion is that having dined there several times, the acoustics are challenging. Granted I’m dining with my 85 yo mother Before and after hearing aids, crowded and not , there is a lot of ambient noise. I think they would do well to add carpet or other “soft “ fixtures.
Otherwise we Love Hunters Tavern and the Tidewater!! We are always greeted enthusiastically and warmly.
Great menu, good service, nice atmosphere,
The food was delicious and all four of us liked
Baked Alaska best I have ever had.
The fried green tomatoes were amazing but much too large for an appetizer. I couldn't finish those and an entree (wonderful crab cake) so I had to leave some tomatoes. If there had been a small fridge in the hotel room, I could have saved them. Too bad!
Party of 6 at 6pm We told the waitress we needed to be out by 7 for a 7:30 concert. She was very solicitous and got us out (after a very good meal) at 5 of. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Best crab cake ever!
It's a bit of a trek from down by Princess Anne but twice now in the past six months I've had the pleasure of eating at Hunter's Tavern. There's nothing I can think to say but praise. The people are friendly and their tableside presence is the perfect mix of attention and discretion. The food is simply outstanding. Nobody who considers Maryland to be home should miss the snapping turtle soup, which is as much an icon of our state as crabs and fine Maryland Rye whiskey. The paella was a masterpiece as well, and my wife's meal still has her talking about it too. Thank you and we WILL be back!
Best crab cake in the Easton-St. Michaels area. Yes, even better than Robert Morris Inn.
Great food and service!
We elected to dine outside at Hunter's Tavern and loved the ambience. For dinner we had the baked crab cake and the Petite Filet Mignon with Bearnaise sauce, both of which were off the charts wonderful. I'm very difficult to please with both and must say neither could, IMHO be better prepared or tastier. Wait staff were very efficient and pleasant. Prices were on the high, but reasonable side and well worth the experience as a whole. The hotel is absolutely beautiful.
The food was delicious! The service was lacking. As we were eating our appetizers, we overheard another server reciting the specials to a table. Our server never told us there were any specials! He was lucky they weren’t anything I would have ordered. Then we heard her give dessert specials to another table, yet when we got to dessert, he did not tell us specials. I asked if there were any and he just told us what the smith island cake flavor was (not special, it’s on the menu.) who knows, maybe they ran out of dessert specials by then but it wasn’t that late. Also, we went from appetizers to dessert with no water refills. Thankfully, the food was so good (we are critical!) we will still go back but just hope for a different server!
Dinner for 6. A real mixed bag. Chicken fried short rib sounded good but wasn't chicken fried and a dry, dense unpleasant experience. Crab soup bland. Tuna app good high quality fish. Fried oysters appeared to be frozen. Pleasant room, good service
Best crab cake
The day was nice so we sat outside for lunch. The traffic noise was limited and the venue for outdoor seating was cozy. The food was good with a variety of selections not usually found on the menu.
Excellent fish and soup options on the menu.
I always enjoy the snapper soup as a starter. The food that follows is something to look forward to dining on. Saturday evening was no exception. The atmosphere, coupled with the warmth of our server made it a very pleasant experience, as always. Keep up the good work!
Best crab cake ever! Nice to have smaller options in addition to the regular entrees.
Dinner was delicious. Service was exceptional by the bartender and our server for dinner. Will come again.
There were four of us hoping for a quiet dinner.. The noise level made conversation difficult! They did not have the Villa Maria Sauvignon blanc that was advertised on the menu. The crab cakes were excellent. The Brussels Sprouts were roasted which I like, but they were way too hard. Obviously this is a popular restaurant! Next time we will avoid the weekend because of the noise!
This is our sixth time dining at Hunter's Tavern. We can honestly say that we've never had a bad experience. On this most recent visit we noted that the service was really outstanding. The food has always been consistently good, but periodically the service has not always been consistent. That was not the case for this visit. All of the items that we ordered we're very good. The only negative thing I would mention, and it was relatively minor, is that the crab dip was not quite as hot as it should have been. But it was still delicious. We will definitely be going back again.
Our party had a delightful time. Have been going to the Tidewater Inn for over 50 years and it is still one of my favorites!
We had brunch at the Tavern and were very happy with everything. My wife and I shared the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and the Shore Benedict, and they were both very good. The service was quick and friendly. The place was a bit loud, but that's no the Tavern's fault. I would definitely eat there again.
