Server seemed "new" forgot a few things. Didn't bring the sugar or sugar substitute with our tea and coffee.
Very loud group of four men right next to us. Hard to hear ourselves talk.
Had a reservation and still had to wait usual time. Food wasn’t that good. Husband wanted a steak and was very disappointed. Soup was good and so was the bread.
Our server, Melanie, was very attentive without being obtrusive. I ordered a filet and would certainly order again; cooked as requested. My husband took advantage of their ‘restaurant week’ special that they run on Monday & Tuesday’s...4 courses (appetizer, soup or salad, entree & dessert) for $22 or $32 depending on choice of entree. He chose the sirloin; says it was the best sirloin he had ever had, hands down. If you order a salad with your meal, it is presented, by your server, as a table side salad bar...a nice touch with very fresh items to choose from. We look forward to returning.
This was rated as one of the better steakhouse in SD. Had high hopes, but it was slightly better than black Angus. But, for the price, it's a great value. I spent lest than $100 on 2 steaks and a bottle of wine.
Very kind and generous
Good alternative to chain places. I had a very good prime rib. Service was friendly but a little slow. Very reasonable prices
Every time we go to San Diego we love to eat their prime rib, but this time we were disappointed because of the quality of the meat , we work in the food industry and I can tell you that the prime rib they gave us, was from the day before. Do next time we will look for a different place
First time back in about 20 years. Same location, minor "name change to the restaurant"; same type of menu ("steakhouse" fare). Convenient location, and accepts reservations. Adequate parking (but could use more of it; if you come at a popular/busy time).
The food was over priced for the quality. I wouldn't go back.
Very good restaurant!
Reservation was made through OpenTable with ease. It was very easy to modify the reservation from 4 to 2. The people were friendly and the food was very good. Prime Rib - yum!
Birthday service could have been better wrong salad dressing served and it took him forever to bring the right one!!my food came right after the dressing so my prime rib was cold when I got to the martinis I ordered were not right but I drank them I do hope tip is split between others because we got more attention from busser
My cab driver suggested eating here. He was right on!!
Server Erica went out of her way to ensure that my celiac dining experience was superior in every way. My custom built salad from the cooler contain the freshest ingredients hand selected by Erica herself to make sure that they were beautiful fresh and uncontaminated. She took care with preparation and service and made the all around experience good!
The table side salad bar is excellent. Just wish it had bacon, then it would be perfect. Had the filet mignon. Nice, tender cut. Corkage is inexpensive so it was nice to bring our own special bottle. Great service!
The waitress was great and very friendly, the food was great and served timely, and other requests were very gratiously handled by any server that walked nearby.
Great food and service . Provided Birthday dessert, nice touch! We will return.
Came here Saturday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I have been here before many times over the years but hadn't been here in a very long time. Glad they still have the tableside salad bar it has always been my favorite. I had the petite cut prime rib, medium rare with a baked potato. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Also want to mention the service was outstanding. Had no complaints at all.
Happy that I chose this place and will be back sooner rather than later.
Server Amber was great!! Asked for medium rare steak and received well done. It was covered with mushrooms , delicious, so that more or less covered up the dryness of the meat.
Great filet mignon & prime rib. I especially love the table-side salad bar.
Enjoyed an early dinner for a birthday celebration. Hadn't dined here in decades... so glad I found it "again". By the time we left, the place was quite full and had people waiting. Food and service were both very good. Will definitely return.
Great food. Good prices. Awesome service
I had not been feeling well. Our waiter brought me crackers when leaving. Very thoughtful.
Service was very good with the exception of food delivery timing. Entrees arrived halfway thru salad course, leaving a lot of excess dishes on table and a sense of rushing thru the meal. Steak was cooked properly but not as tender as it should have been. Salad served on cold plates as appropriate, Wine selection adequate
Excellent prime rib and filet mignon. Generous portions
I have been a customer for the last 20 + years at this restaurant. Went on Valentine's day like previous years. This one was the worst ever the service was horrible. Our waitress was very slow and made a lot of mistakes on our order. Took almost 3 hours to complete a meal. Previous years food get served quickly and efficiently especially on a Valentine's day. This time took forever to get each section of our meal. Don't think I will be back anytime soon not with this kind of service.
Awesome food and service
Was pleasantly surprised.
A very quaint place to relax and eat a great meal! The NY Strip steal I ordered was cooked to perfection!
It has been many years since I’ve been to Hunter Steakhouse. We went for our Mom’s 85th Birthday. We had a delicious dinner. Old school dining. Bread, soup or salads and sides with your entree. I order the whiskey Peppercorn steak. My steak was cooked to perfection. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. We will return
Great service! The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the clam chowder actually had a ton of clams! My husband and I had a wonderful evening.
The prime rib was absolute perfection. My husband said it was one of the best he's ever had! Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.
Food was excellent and on point! Our server was a bit slow and out of touch but other staff members helped to compensate when our needs were not met by our server.
I was very perturbed. Although I took the time to make a reservation, I still had to wait a little over 15 minutes before I was seated.
great prime rib and seafood. Unique way of serving salad that was great. Can't wait to go back.
Great place for dining.
Top notch service
We went for Restaurant Week and I must say that it was definitely one of the best values. We got so much food and I definitely couldn't finish it all. The beef bones were great, I loved the tableside salad, and the bread...mmmm. My only complaint was that I asked for medium steak and it was more like medium well and my husband wanted medium well and it was more like well done. Oh and the carrot cake was really good too. I would definitely go back.
Nice place, service was excellent. Had a very nice ambience with the fire place going. Food was excellent.
This place is a bit pricey for me for everyday dining, but it is one of my favorite restaurants. I go there every restaurant week because the food is delicious and the prices can't be beat.
We visited for the restaurant week menu and it was quite good for $20 a person. You had a choice of 2 appetizers ( we had the beef bones and they were meaty and you got 2) we had Caesar salad, bread, steak with potatoes, and chocolate cake for dessert. The waitress was very friendly and fast. The steak was ok and overcooked, but the made me a new one. It was decent for the price we paid. Overall good meal
