The table side salad bar is excellent. Just wish it had bacon, then it would be perfect. Had the filet mignon. Nice, tender cut. Corkage is inexpensive so it was nice to bring our own special bottle. Great service!
The waitress was great and very friendly, the food was great and served timely, and other requests were very gratiously handled by any server that walked nearby.
Great food and service . Provided Birthday dessert, nice touch! We will return.
Came here Saturday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I have been here before many times over the years but hadn't been here in a very long time. Glad they still have the tableside salad bar it has always been my favorite. I had the petite cut prime rib, medium rare with a baked potato. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Also want to mention the service was outstanding. Had no complaints at all.
Happy that I chose this place and will be back sooner rather than later.
Server Amber was great!! Asked for medium rare steak and received well done. It was covered with mushrooms , delicious, so that more or less covered up the dryness of the meat.
Great filet mignon & prime rib. I especially love the table-side salad bar.
Enjoyed an early dinner for a birthday celebration. Hadn't dined here in decades... so glad I found it "again". By the time we left, the place was quite full and had people waiting. Food and service were both very good. Will definitely return.
Great food. Good prices. Awesome service
I had not been feeling well. Our waiter brought me crackers when leaving. Very thoughtful.
Service was very good with the exception of food delivery timing. Entrees arrived halfway thru salad course, leaving a lot of excess dishes on table and a sense of rushing thru the meal. Steak was cooked properly but not as tender as it should have been. Salad served on cold plates as appropriate, Wine selection adequate
Excellent prime rib and filet mignon. Generous portions
I have been a customer for the last 20 + years at this restaurant. Went on Valentine's day like previous years. This one was the worst ever the service was horrible. Our waitress was very slow and made a lot of mistakes on our order. Took almost 3 hours to complete a meal. Previous years food get served quickly and efficiently especially on a Valentine's day. This time took forever to get each section of our meal. Don't think I will be back anytime soon not with this kind of service.
Awesome food and service
Was pleasantly surprised.
A very quaint place to relax and eat a great meal! The NY Strip steal I ordered was cooked to perfection!
It has been many years since I’ve been to Hunter Steakhouse. We went for our Mom’s 85th Birthday. We had a delicious dinner. Old school dining. Bread, soup or salads and sides with your entree. I order the whiskey Peppercorn steak. My steak was cooked to perfection. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. We will return
Great service! The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the clam chowder actually had a ton of clams! My husband and I had a wonderful evening.
The prime rib was absolute perfection. My husband said it was one of the best he's ever had! Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.
Food was excellent and on point! Our server was a bit slow and out of touch but other staff members helped to compensate when our needs were not met by our server.
I was very perturbed. Although I took the time to make a reservation, I still had to wait a little over 15 minutes before I was seated.
great prime rib and seafood. Unique way of serving salad that was great. Can't wait to go back.
Great place for dining.
Top notch service
We went for Restaurant Week and I must say that it was definitely one of the best values. We got so much food and I definitely couldn't finish it all. The beef bones were great, I loved the tableside salad, and the bread...mmmm. My only complaint was that I asked for medium steak and it was more like medium well and my husband wanted medium well and it was more like well done. Oh and the carrot cake was really good too. I would definitely go back.
Nice place, service was excellent. Had a very nice ambience with the fire place going. Food was excellent.
This place is a bit pricey for me for everyday dining, but it is one of my favorite restaurants. I go there every restaurant week because the food is delicious and the prices can't be beat.
We visited for the restaurant week menu and it was quite good for $20 a person. You had a choice of 2 appetizers ( we had the beef bones and they were meaty and you got 2) we had Caesar salad, bread, steak with potatoes, and chocolate cake for dessert. The waitress was very friendly and fast. The steak was ok and overcooked, but the made me a new one. It was decent for the price we paid. Overall good meal
The best deals during SDRW. Best prime rib in town! I'll be back again and again.
We went for restaurant week and were not disappointed. Atmosphere and service were both very good. Salad ingredirents were very fresh. Steak dinner was excellent, and we each took half home for another meal.
Service was outstanding. Overall, food was good.
Food was mediocrely good tasting. Went here for restaurant week. Definitely would not recommend to friends/family.
Decent food and a lot of it. Prime rib was very good and so were the ribs
The salad was fresh but the blue cheese dressing was not good. It was a watered down ranch dressing with clumps of cottage cheese in it! Not right to pass this off as blue cheese. The salmon was okay but the prime rib was not tasting very good at all. Have had much better at Bully's. The agraratin potatoes were horrible. It was a half of a baked potato hacked up in large pieces with a little sauce and even less cheese and it was tasteless. We were very disappointed in our dinner and would not return or recommend this place.
Hostess were to busy talking to each other to greet not only us, but other guest as well. Try to let the hostess know that it was my daughter birthday so I could arrange a dessert for her, but she was not interested in what I had to say.
Section we were seated in waitress had a big party, which is fine except she did not even greet us for 15 minutes, we had to find someone to at least get us water. When she finally came we ordered our drinks, and dinner. It took 20 minutes to get our salads, and we believe the only reason we did is because another table she like got a salad as well.
She spent more time concerned with what her tips were from the large party.
When our dinner came she was not the one who served us, but the person a (man) through the plates on the table. My daughter try to find out why her plate had so much juice on it due to she ordered her steak well done. He told her it was scampi sauce. It was the juices from her steak, and left. No one offer her steak sauce, and anything else.
Our waitress was much nicer to the table that was sat after us.
This was my daughters and son-in laws first time at your restaurant I do not believe they will ever return. We were not happy with service, or the meal.
I have eaten at your restaurant before, and if this had been my first I would not return either. At this point I do not no if I will. I will never bring people to celebrate anything again.
The bar is very nice and cozy. We really like the dinner menu, the food and service are always great.
My husband and I have been coming to Hunter Steakhouse for probably 35+ years...from the original Hungry Hunter (with bear in cage) through numerous re-decorating attempts. The food is always good. The parking lot needs a lot of work--especially in the handicap area (uneven cement cracked and broken up). We thoroughly enjoyed our 49th wedding anniversary, and took good care of our waiter--who took good care of us! We were pleasantly surprised at the delicious complementary slice of chocolate cake with whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Made for a special, fun occasion.
We were on business from out of town and enjoyed our meal. However, after leaving this restaurant a member of our party had their credit card compromised. Unauthorized charges totaling close to $1,000 were made after using their credit card at this business. This was the only place the credit card was used and left this person in an unfortunate position during their business travel.
Definitely will not be returning or recommending this establishment.
Been here 3 times. Steaks are great, prices are reasonable. Service is good. Salads at your table are a real treat. Clean plates for all of us. Limited desert menus, but that’s ok. Parking is difficult. The only downside is the music coming out of tinny speakers in the dining room. Bad sound and bad choice of tunes.
My Mother's Gin and Tonic was very good. Unfortunately, my Margarita was terrible and we had to replace 6 Shirley Temples. Apparently, the Bartender didn't have good quality Margarita mix.
Have been a fan of Hunter for years though usually the Oceanside (CA) Hunter. I like the Mission Valley Hunter when I’m in San Diego. Can always count on quality service and food, good chop house vibe.
The service was fine- a little slow, but it was somewhat crowded. Some of the food on the menu was not available which was somewhat disappointing-ran out??? Overall a good place for a special occasion. Somewhat pricey for a general out to dinner.
