Hunt Club Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was absolutely wonderful and our serve was fantastic! My husband and I came here with our parents to celebrate our recent wedding and to thank them. We loved every bite of our food and had a lovely time. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the prime rib!
My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary here. We had one of the best dinning experiences ever. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were very personable and took the time to get to know us. The food was fabulous and cooked to perfection!! This was our first time here and will not be our last!
Our server set the stage for a great dining experience. She was friendly and had a great sense of humor. Her recommendations were spot on for us. The food was excellent and served in a timely manner. We were not rushed nor did we wait too long for any of our entrees. A great experience
There were ten people in our party and the only person that enjoyed their meal was the individual who ordered the filet for approximately $55 with no sides. I would expect to pay this price at Morton's or Ruth Criss but not sitting at a high top table in a bar. We had small children but they never told us the dining room was closed and we would have to sit in Bar. My husband and I ordered the prime rib sandwich for $16 but neither one of us got past the first bite. My son-in-law order a hamburger which was also $16.
The service was very slow. I brought a birthday cake and was willing to pay the service charge. I ended up cutting the cake and serving. The waiter only brought 4 plates for 10 people and never cleaned the dirty dishes. I then asked for more plates so everyone could have a piece of cake. I was charged a $20 service charge.
We all agreed we would not return and we should have checked the menu before we made the reservation.
Nice atmosphere and great view over the golfcourse and lake como. Very good starters (gambas were some of the best I ever had and I'm often in Spain) and really decent steaks. I wish I had not gone with the recommended in bone rib eye (decent) but with the Kansas city dry aged (great) Much tastier. I'm from Europe and not used to tap water with chloride added to it. Mineral water would make sense for an upscale restaurant like this. Service was excellent.
The food was excellent! The shrimp cocktail was very different, different good with charbroiled seasoned warn shrimp and a warm bacon tasting garnish. We will return there again the next time we go to Lake Geneva. I would recommend The Hunt Club to everyone!
The restaurant is well known for it's wine selection. I however am not a wine connoisseur neither was my date, so we did not partake in the wine. That being said however, our server was outstanding and very attentive. I didn't feel the menu was worthy of the price however for the quality of food we got. I might be back to try one of their meals that wasn't a special, but I wasn't impressed by the steak and mash special they had.
The mixed drink I ordered was abysmal in it's presentation and had no balance to it whatsoever. It was more akin to dirty river water than it was to an actual mixed drink in terms of look.
Overall the experience wasn't a bad one, but I certainly didn't feel the prices this place charged are worth the experience.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our table for 2 was right in front of huge wall of windows facing a golf course. Service was outstanding--attentive but hovering. The food was delicious. Wonderful beef soup, then entree of surf & turf, both very good. We will definitely go back next time we are in Lake Geneva. I should note our dinner reservation was early. I hear it gets loud later in the evening.
I was extremely disappointed in the meal. I ordered a Rib-Eye steak and asked if they knew how to cook it Pittsburgh style and the waiter said "Certainly". I said great but I wanted it medium-rare as Pittsburgh style is rare. It was a bit of a wait considering the restaurant was not crowded. What I was served was a New York Strip cooked medium to almost medium-well. It was obvious the waiter had no idea what he was serving and the cook didn't either. He also had no clue as to what Pittsburgh style was as there was no char on the steak and way over cooked. I did not feel like pressing the issue for fear it would take too long replacing it and they could not cook it properly anyway so I just ate what was served, a tough steak. The mashed potato ball that they served deep fried was tasteless as well. Desert was ok. Will not go back nor would I recommend this restaurant.
The service was very slow and no information was given about the food. The noise level was more like a sports bar. The people that where there where mostly drunk and rude. I was there to celebrate our engagement and anniversary and the staff seemed not to care. I did not expect anything but for the cost of the food they could have done something. The staff knew about the celebration as I told them when we arrived. We have contacted the Hunt club and we are willing to try it again so we will see what happens.
Service was good except server brought out our food cold and didn't seem very concerned about our cold food she informed me that it I ordered meat rare it would be cold. I didn't order the potatoes rare and they were cold. Bill for 4 people 250 plus 50 tip only thing that came out correct was wife's steak that was delivered by another server. Very disappointing
The Hunt Club was gorgeous! We went for our first wedding anniversary and it was a gorgeous setting for the occasion. The food was great. My husband didn't love the lobster bisque, but everything else was wonderful. Service was great and the views were stunning. We can't wait to go back!
The only downside: it was a bit loud when we got there. I'm glad they were busy, but it was noisy.
