Justin was an incredible server. All of his recs were delicious. This is a must stop if you're staying in Wailea!
Barley warm appy and enteee not hot barley warm.
Appy (two) came 5 minutes before bottle of wine and cocktails. Awful.
Romantic. Traditional Polynesian style building. It reminds me of my first trip to Hawaii in 1979. fantastic food. So yummy. Great chef. The thatched roof building sits on a man-made lake, complete with 2 sculptures of spear fishermen in the lake. Looking out from my table, I saw the most Beautiful Sunset. This place is #1 on my list of top 5 restaurants ever - for food and ambiance.
This was a lovely spot at a fantastic resort. Went with my husband and daughter and they gave her a toy at the end and she was in heaven. The food is very good, especially the beef. It’s right near the beach surrounded by water. Recommend.
Beautiful views, food is unique and delicious, perfect venue for post wedding dinner!
Clams appetizer was amazing - probably the best thing I ever ate.
Food was Great, service was wonderful and we throughly enjoyed our celebration dinner. I would highly recommend Humuhuma. The sunset was gorgeous, which made dinner even more special.
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and enjoyed every minute.
This was our first time dining here and it was the BEST dining experience on Maui. We have been to Maui at least 17 times and Humu Humu had the most eclectic preparations and best service. Stand out dishes were the hamachi carpaccio, lamb and filet. We will be back again!
Wonderful dining experience on my trip to Maui this week! Our server was Alex and the service she provided was delightful. Definitely will recommend to friends/family visiting the Wailea area. The sunset view and overall restaurant ambiance was very impressive. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip!
Maybe we expected too much but were disappointed. Our 7pm reservation was not ready at 7pm. We were told we could wait at the bar which was great except they saw that we had teenage children. They then told us you had to be 21 to sit at the bar... not sure why they asked us to sit there. We were taken to our table, which was far from the water when we had requested water view. There were plenty of seats near the water. Service was great... food was average for the cost. There are much better places to eat in the area.
The food was excellent. Our vacation was coming to an end and we decided to try it. And it was a great experience. Our waiter so nice. The amphitheater was incredible!!
The starters were great- flavorful and unique. Service was friendly but lacked the competency I expect from a resraurant next to Spago and close to Mama's Fish House. We were all done with our meal by the time the waiter came by to inquire if we needed anything. We ordered 4 entrees. All were bland with respect to flavor. Disapointing because we had high expectations afer the first course. Maybe the waiter should have stopped by with a shaker of salt.
There are too many great places to go here for this one to get on my list again.
Graduation and birthday dinner
Excellent service and staff. Food is great, very delicious. Didn’t like the desserts- it was a differently weird combination of sweet ingredients. I really appreciated that I was able to find my wallet after losing it in the restaurant.
Grossly over-rated. Had booked this week's ahead for a special occasion and it was such a disappointment. Very expensive and no hint of a wow factor at all. Don't bother.
The Humu is a lovely restaurant with impeccable service. The food was delicious and the wine was great. The price for main course $36 for Mahi-Maui is typical for area, but $18 for tiny beet salad was too much. Wine also seemed high compared to purchasing retail (4 times the price.) With that said, Wailea restaurants can be expensive. I just felt the restaurant was pushing the envelope on these two items. Otherwise really everything was perfect.
We were very disappointed in the level of service as it was 35 min before our order was taken and only after we asked for our waiter to appear. The quality of the food was mediocre at best. Fish was bland, lamb was unseasoned and garnish was overly sweet. The tomato and mozzarella appetizer was sparse on mozzarella. The appetizer took 30 min after placing order. The main course took over 1 hour to arrive. After such a wait and disappointment in taste of food we opted to skip dessert. We also witnessed 2 other parties leave before they were served any food. In summary, the restaurant did not live up to hype as Waldorf's signature restaurant and provided an expensive and disappointing meal.
For a fine dining venue, they ran out of the pork chops and when I ordered the wagyu filet with crab instead, it had 2 little pieces of crab. Also I had to ask for a steak knife and was not asked if I wanted more to drink. The restaurant itself was very nice and we loved staying at the Grand Wailea.
Terrific food and amazing service! The view at sunset is spectacular. Highly recommend!
Amazing exxperience! Great service, the food was phenomenal and you can't beat the views. The buffet brunch was very diverse and great quality (and great tastes)! Highly recommend, although pricy, it was worth it!
This was our second time here and it was fantastic! I definitely recommend coming here!
The meal was absolutely fantastic! Special shout out to Taj the bartender -- a great dude.
The food and drinks were great, the ambience was beautiful, but the server was so rude. I have never come across as bad a server as that guy( I don’t remember his name now). But I am sure there are much more servers who are better than him.
Great food and experience. Our waiter was introduced to us as "Ken, the wine guy" and seemed a little taken aback that we didn't order drinks, which may have resulted in slightly less service for our table as compared to other "drinking tables" in the area. To be transparent, we only ordered entrees so not as many trips to bring food were needed. Sunset views are spectacular! My children loved their Humu fish toys!
Great food, great service. Just a fantastic evening!
Such a beautiful way to start the day on Maui.
Was disappointed that the pond was not stocked wit fish like before
This restaurant is over the top. The food ,atmosphere is outstanding. Highly recommend it, you wouldn't want to miss out on this place.
We went to this restaurant to have a nice meal after getting pictures at the resort. The view and the food was just perfect. We loved it!
Overall, it was a very fine evening. Your view and the food were excellent. Our waiter was rather lackluster, didn’t seem all that interested. Didn’t tell us the specials, and when we asked questions seemed a bit annoyed. The rest of the serving staff were great and very friendly. Both my sister and I felt our waiter took a bit of a dislike to us right from the start. A bit disappointing. But we did not let it ruin our evening and gave him no further mind. He brightened up when he gave us the bill.
Everything was Incredible and Michael, our server, was the BEST!!!
20th anniversary dinner and the restaurant knew it. Seated us at a non-water view table. Had an 8:30 reservation so the restaurant wasn’t crowded. Food was okay at best and our waiter appeared bored.
The Humu has been redone but unfortunately what we had was not new and very disappointing. I had the steak and lobster for $80 and was very disappointed. I have had better steak and lobster st.a casino buffet in Las Vegas. I was so looking forward to this meal and could not have been more disappointed. The roasted tomato burrato was very good but that was really it. Dessert was mediocre and drinks were small. Not wort the price for mediocre food.
Great ambiance with great food to back it up. We had the catch of the day and the sunset tonight was amazing. I wished we had spent more time at the bar. The bar scene appeared very relaxing with a nice selection of top shelf whiskeys.
Great view & food! Mahi-mahi is fantastic. Waitress was great but water boy spilled water all over my sons place setting without apologizing and was walking around eating his nails; very strange for a nice restaurant.
Only valet parking, and restaurant is hard to find in resort. Give yourself extra time.
