Loved the crispy mahi -mahi! This is a great consistent spot, gorgeous views nice ambience. It was a quiet night but staff was seating folks right on top of each other, despite the empty tables which felt a little weird.
Went for our honeymoon dinner/my birthday. The service and food was great. Just a heads up Table 70 ( best seat in house) has a $300 charge to reserve. Set close to this table and just as great of a view!
Fantastic anniversary dinner. Very helpful and knowledgeable server . Food was utterly wonderful. View of the sunset terrific. Perfect in all respects. Would highly recommend.
Great service, food and location.
Horrible food and service was awful. A total waste of money I sent my food back.
The food was fantastic! We split the smoked beef appetizer that was off the hook and the mahi mahi was to die for. Top it off with some great cocktails and the best place to watch the sunset in Maui, and it can’t get any better.
Big disappointment. They changed their menu and ambiance for the worse.
We hadn’t been to ”Humu” for a couple of years. At that time there wasn’t much special about it other than it’s ambiance, but what a difference a year makes! The new chef has brought new life to the menu. We enjoyed four different entrees and all were spectacular. Service was superlative, pace was on point, fare was exceptional, and ambiance unparalleled. “Humu” has absolutely regained its stature and earned a spot on our regular rotation of not-to-be-missed places to dine while in Maui!
We enjoyed the restaurant and Larry took great care of us...thank you!
The setting is so beautiful and we were lucky to witness fireworks that night. The Mahi mahi was delicious and the service was very attentive. A lovely evening!
Cute spot but for the price not worth it at all. The food and service were average.
We have dined here several times. Last night, we had an excellent waitress who cares to our every need and desire. She knew the menu well and helped us order. Great fish, steak was good and the lamb was delicious. Too full for desert! By far, our favorite restaurant in Maui.
We joined long-time friends who live on Maui for a 6:30pm dinner on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Just walking to the restaurant from the hotel entrance has a certain “Wow!” effect that leads you to expect an amazing experience. The check-in hostess didn’t smile. The seafood tower appetizer had too much ice for the amount of seafood, although the dry ice made for a wonderful presentation. Our waitress seemed slow to take our orders, but what we ordered always came promptly. Our waitress did recommend a nice, affordable wine to accompany our four different seafood dishes.
Because this restaurant and its chef have won awards, our expectations were high. Sadly, after sunset, the artificial lighting in the restaurant area makes the labor-intensive dishes look decidedly unappealing. The chef should insist on having this corrected.
At the end of the evening, our waitress split the bill evenly between the two couples as we requested, but then she charged both halves to my credit card.
Both fish dishes were served warm, not hot
Very pleasant ocean front restaurant of the Grand Wailea with lovely sunset views. Food is very good, with most everything raised or caught locally. The butter lettuce salad is a good example. Fish dishes were very creative. Service is friendly and helpful. Prices steep, but typical of this gold coast. Overall, a most satisfying dining experience.
This hotel has an iconic setting but is very very tired and dated looking. Needs refreshed badly. Great sculpture collection but the decor is very tacky. The whole place is in need of major renovation it's stuck in the 1980's Las Vegas. Food was mediocre by our Bay Area standards. Bread was stale. I'd rather go to Mama's Fish house. Very disappointing. Don't waste your time nor money. Hilton needs to spend some money and pull this into the 21st century
Beautiful seating and ambience. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Excellent Mai Tsi’s.
Nice setting. Wonderful service. Slightly disappointed with menu choices. When in Hawaii I like to eat fresh fish simply prepared. All of the fish choices were Asian flavored and sauced. Would like a simply grilled option.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday at the Humu Humu. The ambience is stunning and the sound of the waterfall was so peaceful. I ordered a fish plate which was very tasty and my husband the chicken. Both were very good, with nice flavors and filling. We ordered a "chocolate garden" for dessert which was delicious. The only disappointment was our appetizer-an endive, beet, and goat cheese salad. The tast was delicious but the serving size was laughable. For $19 my husband and I each had 3 tiny bites. All in all we had a wonderful experience and will return.
Great views and ambiance!! We enjoyed our visit and look forward to our next time here!
Scallops and wagyu filet were outstanding!!
Far and away the best experience on the island! The food, drinks, atmosphere... awesome and truly Hawaiian. Thank You for such a great evening!
Fabulous location and amazing experience!!
Seemed pricey, but everything in the area is expensive:(
We ate here two years ago and had a fine meal. The kids remembered it fondly so we went back this week. It was excellent! Not sure if my memory of it was off or if it has improved but I definitely won’t forget what an enjoyable meal I had this time. The food was good. We stuck with the server’s suggestions and really enjoyed the fresh fish. The three bread choices were all very tasty. The kids menu is excellent value. As a family of four we are used to running up large bills in Maui. It was nice to be able to choose decent kids meals and save the splurging for the parents.
Took waitress 25 min to come to our table to greet us. Bread lady came before she took our drink orders . Mai Mai was worst I have had in 3 weeks - mushy and under cooked. We have been coming here for 10 years and have noticed the decline. No fish in ponds takes away from experience. Will not return ever
The table was great, views beautiful but we never got the bread we were promised and while the food was good the portions were quite small. Our waitress was very friendly. Food was very expensive for the portions. A nice evening but could have been much better.
So beautiful!! Excellent food presentation and delicious!!! Service was great!
Server was attentive but overworked by serving too many tables. Overall experience too long.
Food and service are always excellent. And the sunset views. Best anywhere!
We had reserved a special table by water a year in advance and put down $150 to secure it. Upon arriving to restaurant for reservation our group was told table was given to someone else and they would move us after they finished. We waited two hours at a different table with 4 children who couldn’t wait to eat longer to be moved to other table. We ordered at different table and finally gave up as the other party was still sitting at the specific table we requested. The manager was not helpful at all and never returned my call after speaking with me about our frustrations.
Wonderful dining! I had the seafood tower and the wife had the mahi mahi. Both were delicious.
Service was attentive and overall experience was enjoyable. Enjoyed the seafood tower, spicy beef and hamachi appetizers and filet and lobster for our entrees. Desserts were interesting with a deconstructed presentation which is not my preference but flavors were good. Christine was knowledgeable and courteous and friendly. Maria and Tony at the host stand were welcoming. The ambience is always the best and the musician (Micah) was fantastic. Would have liked to stay longer to sit in the bar to listen to his music but we were so tired from a long day already.
We enjoyed Humuhumu against n, but as usual, service was very slow. Why? Not crammed with diners and plenty of staff. Annoying. And we never were offered bread. Waiter said, “My fault.” But no discount on Check or dessert or anything. Still like it for food and the general tiki experience. B+
Wonderful way to end our Maui visit! Everything was perfect. The view is out of this world. The food was delicious..Seafood appetizer was beautiful, a bit on the skimpy site for the cost. Main courses perfectly done and presented. Our server Michael was a bonus, very informative on all questions. Thank you for the memories we made.
Loved our sunset view & server.
Salads ridiculously tiny and otherwise delisch. Risotto appetizer very salty. Desserts delightful yet too much chaos- surfing goat cheesecake wonderful!! Fish entrees excellent- yearning for more veggies than a few tidbits. Honey butter & breads yes!
I like great food and great service. Humm huma has both. You're not on the beach which is good because if its windy/rainy you're protected. Its a lush tropical setting.
